@coolkidis100 man i use methylated spirits in a squirt bottle give that a try, the first shot will be really weak so do the first shot with no ammo in it. don't air it out jam a spud in it and go again about 10 sec after the dry fire.

slight problem mate i have done one out of a glue stick and a pen bot when i use deodrant it will spark with cap off but not with cap on so could you tell me what im doing wrong and i drilled a hole in for oxygen so i may need to tape it back up

@amazedscopes Hi. After putting the deodorant in, give a quick blow of air into it (no much), but that will help correct the fuel to air mixture. And tape up that hole you drilled in.

@aderonn Dont mean to critisize (sp?) bro, but your thumb tacks were wayyyyyyyyyy too far apart. In order to het a spar you want about.a 1/16in gap, I made this years back only it was more of a shoulder fire rocket launcher than a pistol. Itd fire whole potatoes haha good memories.

Nice job man!! I'm currently making a three foot airsoft grenade launcher using your idea. I taped iron sights to it from an old airsoft gun of mine. I found some replica metal civil war bullets in a local museum and shot them out of a prototype. It penetrated a two inch thick wooden board!

@jtfun678 You can put pretty much any aerosol you want (febreze, hairspray, axe, etc.) Just make sure you have the right mix of air to fuel, else it wont work. After spraying in the fuel, give a quick blow of air to get the right mixture, then put the cap on and shoot.

@perry244 You need a spark of some sort to get it to fire. If you can design a way to use a regular sparker, go for it. But an electric sparker is recommended.

@perry244 Using a lighter would probably work on a larger scale, but with a small chamber like this, the opening required to fit the lighter head or match in would release all the pressure and the projectile wouldnt go far, if anywhere. This method is effective because there are no openings for the gas to escape except the barrel.

In stead of aerosol use rubbing alcohol. Just put a teaspoon in put the cap on and swish it around. You get more power and a flame shoots out the barrel

@AnOnYmUs19971 Safe, but very hard to get the fuel/air mix right. Use sparingly at first until you get a god idea of the mix to use. You can't put in too much as it simply will not fire so it's pretty safe as far as that goes. For me the ease of using deodorant outweighs the benefits of using butane.

@Johnnystorm25 the trigger device can be found in any common lighter where the wires are conected to 2 metal rods that barely come into contact, which, in this case are the pins. they create a spark to ignite ur fuel.

@MRGangster6191 it's good to put in some cotton first because it gives a nice air seal to efficiently use all the escaping gas. Then put some cotton in after the bb's too to keep them from rolling out.

The best fuel is denatured alchol which you can pick up at any hardware store. Then you put in like half a squirt from a squirt bottle, blow in to it, shake it a little and push the button. It is much more powerful than any other fuels previously mentioned and it doesn't gunk up the chamber or the tacks.

I made one but it doesnt work. Mine is exactly the same as yours but i have a different sparker (from the UK), but in principle the sparker mechanism is the same. It means, though, that i havent used drawing pins, just put the sparker directly in. It still makes a spark, but doesnt work. If i take the glue stick lid off and then fire, it just sets fire and i have to blow it out. Could you help me?

@MrJosqu your having the same problem as most other people. You need to blow a little bit of air into the chamber after spraying in the aerosol. You need to have the proper fuel to oxygen level. Tell me if this works for you.

@aderonn It didnt work, but I think I may have used a chamber that is too small. It was a mini pritt stick, which is about 3inches by 1inch. Also, i couldnt find a recommended fuel that is available in the UK. I am going to try to use right guard deodorant, but i need to get my dad to drive me to town to get a can
