  • I had an annoying nurse who I guess was new who was giving me this whole talk about what I should expect to feel and to not be nervous and exactly what she was going to do and yadda yadda. Eventually, I just went, "JUST STICK IT IN ME!" lol dirty reference =P

  • @AshillaBeige FUCK YOU LOSER

  • fake

  • I am in nursing school. I hope I don't turn all psycho like you guys. BTW this was really boring.

  • She is a beautiful robot

  • drunk

  • @beauxgirlblue----um I'm a nurse and I draw my own labs not a phleb. You know why I draw blood, because nurses are trained to do that. I hate when people get on a role about professions and have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

  • The reason that your veins disappear is because they are too thin to hold the needle, so they are collapsing.

And the reason why your arm is so bruised, is because the nurse that took your blood, did not apply enough pressure to the area for long enough. If it is done correctly, Your arm should not bruise.

Best of Luck for next time. x

  • You are just bored. What a loser!

  • girlblue- in the ER not only do we start the line, we draw labs at the same time.

  • this was funny. sometimes it's hard to get the IV started. I hate valves! lol

  • Nurses doesnt draw blood! Youre mesirable!!

  • lol this video is funny. Okay the person drawing your blood tried two times and didn't get it then why did you let her keep trying? lol. That doesnt even happen in medical school.

I suggest next time you request a certified phlebotomist to draws your blood.

    Medical Assistant/Phlebotimist -Leticia. H

  • @bebitapreciosa thanks!

  • I got stuck 9 times once trying to get an iv put in. But they finally got it. I have alot of respect for nurses I am in the process of getting my BSN. So I hope I can get through it and become an RN and hope to become a nurse practioner one of these days.

  • @chefd907 - I had a nurse who finally got an IV in me after about 3 or 4 times....She kept trying to blame me, saying I was moving, but I wasn't, there is NO way I move at ALL when getting a needle..I just want to get it over with so I'm as still as a statue so there are no problems....Not nice to try and pas the blame to me but oh well.

  • @Nitro1970 Im a nurse and most of my collegues are good but some are so bent and fucked up they embarrass me, they always try to shift blame to make up for their short falls, they should just leave the profession

  • As an adult I don't feel bad for myself for having a nurse fail to get an iv into me for a blood transfusion, a lady Doctor had the IV in on one attempt. I felt for my 5 day old baby, who had daily heel sticks to draw blood, as well as screaming from not coping with failed iv sticks to start a new Iv after she had her old IV for antibiotics removed for her 1st bath at 5 days old. Staff said we had 2 options Thigh Injections or a scalp Iv. Staff said a Scalp Iv was kinder then Thigh Injections.

  • no offense, but nurses are usually pretty bad at drawing blood. i'm a phlebotomist and i hear sooo many horror stories about patients being poked numerous times and the bruising that follow after!

  • all nurses or just the ones you work with?

  • Registered Nurses do draw blood from neonates heals. And they do start ivs in neonates children and adults

  • you call the nurse crazy look at YOU....

  • Miss, are you high???

  • I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU...try to grow up...im a nurse and i disagree with what you stated

  • As annoying as this video is .... and the girl in it, as a nurse I can definitely tell you that you should not have been a hard stick and after 3 unsuccessful tries the nurse should have stopped and either had another nurse or phlebotomist try to obtain your blood. Oh well, you lived. lol

  • damn stop bitching at her people.

    she's just showing her opinion.

if you don't like her why do you watch her video's? dumb asses

  • wat da fuk is she sayin Jesus H CHRIST

  • Most annoying video ever.

  • Its very sad to think there are people in the world like you. Im sure you are perfect at every thing ( except painting apparently) Nurses do a great service to the community with out much thanks. I cant believe you are so petty to complain about a blood draw. I cant believe people feel sorry for you.there are much worse things in the world peopl actually have real problems

  • I'm sorry but I think you need to grow up!

My daughter is eight and has been having blood test every year since she was five and was diagnosed with diabetes and she doesnt make such a big deal of it as you do.

Scary is NOT having your blood drawn, scary is being a little child and all of a sudden having shots several times a day every day all the while knowing this is how its going to be for the rest of your life! Please, please dont be so silly.

  • i think you are the one who is being silly. people are scared of needles, and you obviously have alot to worry about with your daughter being diabetic but that doesnt mean you can just spread the disdain to others with your words. please take others into consideration, especially when telling them off concerning medical issues...we all die one day and will most likely have a relative in the hospital at one point. it could be yourself tomorrow, so dont hate, especially b/c some1 U love is sick.

  • Again, please , please grow the heck up!!!!!

It was me in the hospital for two months in the ICU and it was my daughter in the hospital I cant even imagine how you would cope. Im not spreading disdain, you are with your immature crap which by the way you're a little too old for dont you think?

  • You so need to get a life...dont sweat the small stuff.Nurses are human and getting a bruise is exceptable

  • look at her arm...I am guessing you are a nurse and are trying to play down your own history of butchering arms?

  • Better call the ambulance for the bruise. I think it might be life threatening.

  • It depends on where you work I am a nurse and I draw blood and start IVs.

  • I think you have a cute accent, I have a texas accent, I wish I had yours.

  • L A M E

  • classic adorable Val :D

  • Nurses do not routinely draw blood, they do start IV's. Lab phlebotomists draw blood. They do not start IVs. The concepts for drawing blood & starting IV's are different. The personnel who work in the clinical labs are phlebotomists, not nurses. Nurses don't wear lab coats, they wear scrubs.Phlebotomist do wear lab coats. Nurses & Phlebotomists have the right to be recognized for the unique specialties of their profession. Please do not confuse the two.

  • In most clinics and smaller hospitals the laboratory technicians double as phlebotomists.....the phlebotomist, contrary to popular opinion amongst healthcare professionals (at least the ones outside of the LAB) is the most important person in the lab; after all, that sample has to be non-hemolyzed, collected in the right tubes and in the right order, handled properly, and labeled and processed exactly right. Those "vampires" are under-appreciated...we rely on their knowledge and skill in the lab!

  • lord forgive me if I ever confuse a nurse and a Phlegmbotanist!

  • @beauxgirlblue: There are no phlebotomists where I work.

  • @beauxgirlblue hate to tell you this but I am an RN and I draw blood every single day I work. And the personnel who work in the labs are not phlebs they are not licensed to run tests. They draw blood only. Oh and just the other day I was wearing a lab coat. Maybe before you speak you should make sure you know what your talking about hun.

  • @beauxgirlblue ER nurses draw blood all day. ER Nurse.

  • then i guess it time to quit bitch.

  • racist....

  • I wish I could donate! But I'm only 13 ='[

  • I don't mind needles. I never realy cried, even when I was a baby. So of course getting my blood drawn is no big deal. But EVERY SINGLE TIME I need to get blood drawn, the nurse can't vind my veins! I usuall end up getting poked 2 or 3 times in each arm. But the worst part is that the people that stick me move the needle around INSIDE my arm trying to find my veins! Then they pull it out and start all over again! Now THAT is painful! Thank GOD I was blessed with a high pain tolerence! =]

  • same! i still don't like it but that has happened to me too!

  • Why didn't she just say stop?

  • I totally feel your pain!! I've been stuck 6 times at once...by 4 different ppl....and finally they just took it from the top of my hand :( ive had sooo many bad experiences having my blood taken :(

  • you are beautiful =)

  • I have been stuck 17 times to get blood already... 17 times and three women and none of them got any blood.

  • Lose weight

  • I weighed 125 pounds when that happened.... so yeah

  • dis is a gay

  • nurse are briefly trained to draw blood, but few of them actually do it. at least in my hospital. even the ones who were previously phlebotomists, wont do it. phlebotomy is not like handing someone meds, its a skill, and not just anyone can do it.......even nurses.

not tryin to burst you bubble liz, jus tell the truth as i know it.

  • Not just anyone can "handle" someones meds either, although it may seem easy it to is a skill and you have to know what meds you are giving, side effects, interactions-it is much more than you think. phlebotomists do draw blood, but they are not allowed to start an IV, draw blood from PICC lines etc..that is within an RNs scope of practice, so therefore it is a skill that nurses are taught and do.

  • giving meds is not a skill, thats takes a different kind of training and education. you cant just be good at giving meds as opposed to drawing blood or even starting an iv. i also understand the "scope of practice" for nurses, i watch and listen upon opportunity. and while it may be a skill that nurses are taught to do, too many of them dont hone that skill and disregard its importance, leaving it to the phlebotomists who can. starting an iv doesnt mean you can draw blood or vice versa.

  • During my nursing education giving meds was one of the first critical skills we had to learn. And I dont think any RN disregards the importance of any skill that they were once taught whether they do it often or not. The reason they have specialized training such as phlebotomy or having an IV team or wound care specialists is to reduce the costs and the risk for patient infection, I am not downplaying what phlebotomists do btw.

  • bloody hel nedles crap incredbly needle phobic and also small veins bad 4 me

  • uummm, how many valium did you take?

  • * my mum

  • my arm was blleding heaps when i got my blood taken in hospital cuz the guy niked my artery then double punctured it then finnally got it and did a arterial blood gases but it hurt like hell and it was bleeding for about half an hour so mum mum had to press down on it cuz i was too weak to move and couldnt move my arms from no O2

  • musicfreak, if you bled a lot from the blood gasses .. with that you are supposed to hold it real good for a few minutes ( my hand gets tired and first time I bruised real bad as I thought it was just like normal needles). But they double sticking .. they are supposed to go farther up the arm (toward shoulder) so you don't get extra bleeding from the tourniquet. I think I have that right .. Not exactly sure but speaking from my experience.

  • well, you are cute but I think this video is boring

  • This is like Eurotrash style!!

  • She's a goofy goof!@

  • cute!!!!!

  • Hotty!

  • When I had my blood taken, my arms bruised a lot too.

  • ^

    Dude with needle phobia.

  • hahahaha

  • ahaha soo graceful, OMG! your arm! och! thats funny I no my aunt wanted to me a nurse and when she was giving someone a needle for the first time, she thought you reallyhad to push it into the skin, and stabbed the poor guy with the needle, se was soo surprised that it went in soeasily she had to apologise to the guy the because she hurt him, but it is very funny now :)

  • you're great :)

  • micheleruth is right. its phlembotomists who draw blood. not nurses.

  • Wrong, nurses are trained to draw blood. Some lpns are IV certified and all rns are certified.

  • last time i got shots i fainted =[

  • I will subscribe just to get your DVD...

Not really... Your so cute....Love Ya

  • cute butt not you the nurse in here lol

  • lol dat was funny whn u dropped the dvds

    val...lol

  • that same thing happen to me i was giving blood and they miss my vein. i had a long bruise across my arm.

  • That happened to me when I was pregnant w/ my first daughter. I had to go get my blood drawn all the time, and I'd cringe everytime. I hate being the guinea pig for new nurses. Hope you are feeling better :)

  • can you teach me how to paint??

  • 7 7 7 7 7 7 7

  • Val is a robot, the only way she could prove otherwise is if she replies to this comment.

  • ha ha :P

  • So, you're one of those replying robots huh? Very clever Val...very clever...

  • yes, very clever

  • ouch that looked painfull

  • i've been through the same thing several times, it hurts and sucks! sorry you had to go through that :D

I loved when the 25 dvds fell. haha!

  • i like your fibe

  • wowza.... i won one?! i just watched this and saw my name.... CRAZINESS.... idk wat to do tho lol

  • She is making a famous brand!

  • DJ was here.... :)

  • Mikma should be here.

  • blah

  • Please stop apologizing for taking time off. If you need to, you need to. Life will go on, your subscribers will be fine, so you just worry and feel bad for no reason. Take care of yourself ok :D

  • LOL

  • Go run under a bus. >:-/

  • Just to be clear, my comments are directed at the previous two posts.

  • freeze! gimme ur paintings!

  • haha i think this was funny? lol

  • Val - you know what, the next time you have blood drawn, try to remember which arm or site is best and tell them ahead of time. When I was a student (nurse) I would get someone else if I couldn't get it the 1st time. Sometimes, it's just luck, not experience that helps you find it especially if someone has teeny baby veins.

  • poor poor lady got a bruise! i hope you are okay and will survive this! god be with you

  • Not that bad?!! That bruise looks awful. Sorry to hear about the crappy nurse. Keep being awesome!

  • That's OK Val - take a week off!! Would you like the phone nuber of my doctor - Dr. Vlad the Impailer and Nurse Zorro??? They'll fix you right up!

  • I wish You good health. God bless You.

  • oh my GOD that bruise is huge. I'm scared of unexperienced nurses too...

  • yeah, i won! i won! :)

  • congrats! i didnt :(

  • cool!

  • sunofa!!!! :( VAL!! i want

  • surpised you don't see your bruise as a temp tattoo. paint it! please, stop apologizing. your spirit and love are strong! don't drown in the Pleasing Others Pool.

  • ah, ur wondrful. i love watching your episodes. they're great.

  • I'm amazed that one of the subsribers who won is called "CapillaryVains" or so :D Some things just can't be coincidential, can they.

  • yay!!! my name was randomly selected!!! i hope you arm feels better,, i have the same problem when i get my blood taken.. darn those tiny veins! lol..

  • Your anatomical anomalies aren't the nurses fault... haha :P

Hope it will heal quickly. :)

  • What a priceless video! It really lit up my week (and it has been a bad one). Thank you for this. I will proceed to watch all your other videos once I have the time and I cannot wait for more, I'm subscribing.

  • don't worry your arm is still beautiful. idea on your art lottery, put names on spinning disk and throw darts, gives everyone Little better chance..

  • Needles aren't that bad... especially when they have to take blood (I get blood taken all the time). I've had new, inexperienced nurses a few times. Just make sure they understand that you have a "two strikes" rule, if they miss twice, it's someone elses turn.

Enjoy your day, hope you get well soon

  • Hope its nothing serious. We don't always need a prize, as you and your creations are our gifts each week. mushie...yes, but true.

Get well very soon Val. xxx

  • what are these DVD's of babe?

  • I won!

    ... not

I wanted one badly. just got done with my first painting :) thanks for inspiring me :)

  • Good God, Val. You should issue a police report with a bruise like that.

The picture of the nurse was kind of scary. The donning of the rubber-glove is never a good sign.

    Get better.

  • no painting :-( but thanks for the story. the same thing happened to my grandpa with the many pokings by an incompetent nurse

  • ouch.

The first time I had a blood test, the nurse was an intern and missed 7 times.

    I love watching your videos!

  • I had to give blood in Russia once, and the nurse was just a student and couldn't figure out how the contraption worked. If I hadn't had many shots and blood givings before the trip, I would've been really nervous!

  • man... i hope i win one of these days!

  • *doctor

  • Hope you feel better soon!

  • Too many of those nurses get into the medical field "just for the pay and the drug access".

  • i think i saw some of that artwork before. hanging on my reridgerator when i was 8 yrs old.....

  • so you mean last year right?

  • ZING!

  • We love ya' Val. Just work on feeling better... if for no other reason, so you can stay the Hell away from those nurses! :P

PS: To the last winner listed... wow... best username... EVER! :)

  • So will your next painting only have the colors of your bruise? And what will the painting represent with the colors of a bruise?

    Hope you feel better.

  • Get well soon!!!!!!

    love ya

  • Poor Baby, Val. Your sick, then the Nurse jabs and jabs at you. Then you drop the CD's from the weakness caused by the great loss of Blood.

It can only be all uphill now.

  • I think that 25th DVD might be out to get you Val! It fell as a distraction, and then the rest fell...

And I know "thesecret14" appearing twice was a typo ... but there were only 25 names listed ... so maybe one winner was missing? (replaced by thesecret15) ???

Anyway, needles boo. I hope you feel better.

  • Now I made a typo too. I meant thesecret14, not thesecret15.

  • clearly, i know the secret to winning the art lottery! and to spelling! hehe just kidding :0)

  • do i get 2 prizes?? haha!

  • I think someone else one, but it's a secret.

  • won, not "one"

    lol, maybe I'm sick too.

  • hey! i won TWICE! haha i'm sooo excited!!! <3333 thanks Val!!!! :)

  • Also, that secrt14 -- haha! Just kidding. I actually LOOKED at the comments, figuring someone else MUST have noticed it. And what do ya' know, I was right. Go figure. ;)

  • Thankfully my pale skin and large, obvious veins make it easy for my to give blood when I need to go to the hospital.

  • Just got my DVD! I especially like the "Watch with Val" commentary videos. That was a nice surprise.

  • thats happened to me before

  • sorry you were sick :/

  • I know how you feel Val, one time I had a 104 fever and the guy taking my blood lost the vein... I was so delirious from sickness, I thought that my heart stopped! Get well soon and paint a big sharp needle to help you deal with your fear!

  • ou! that bitch! you should've commplain with her superiors or another nurse, Val! is not fair that you have to take this nurse's lack of professionalism. Besides, she's too old to be new, I think lol.

    Anyway,get well soon,Val!

    Buaaa,I didn't win...again :(

  • oh no I did not win ;) I was laughing so hard when you dropped the DVDs :)))) would you e-mail me your postal address I wanna send you a Xmas card!!! [I'm not a stalker dont worry :) you probably have a PO BOX anyway, I do!]

  • hope you are feeling better honey...tooth

  • I've had needle bruises before because I give blood and the nurse doesn't always get it right the first time lol Get well soon Val! :o) x
