  • hello friend.. :) i have a problem after i click OBJECT>CLIP>SET it does't work,,the background still remain,,help me,,

  • I had problem and notice that the combine shapes when shaded were filled in, with no hole so I selected the set self-intersection to create hole, heart with hole icon and then clip set and it worked.

  • This doesn't work for me. I followed the instructions carefully. nothing happens. the image remains. I'm sure the solution is quite simple but i'm getting very frustrated! does anybody have any suggestions?

  • @johnmc1985 I had same problem after I combine the item I go to fill shaded it and notice the center was still filled in so I used the any path self-intersection create holes and it created hole and unshaded center , then clip and I had a see through hole in picture.

  • @johnmc1985 need to set self-intersection to create hole and then it will work.

  • For some reason, this isn't working for me. I use the bezier tool to outline, including the place in the middle I want to cut out. I then combined the paths (just the paths), then selected the image plus the combined paths, and did Object > clip >Set. The outer stuff disappeared, however the hole in the middle that I wanted to cut out remains. Any ideas? I really followed this to the letter, so I'm wondering why you succeeded and I didn't! Thanks for posting this, it's a great help!

  • @EverShark same issue here did you find out what we did wrong? thx

  • AWESOME, always wondered how to cut out things with Inkscape. Great, thanks.

  • Thanks, my pleasure!

  • Hello Gremnlin, love your tutorials but I am such a newbie I still feel a bit lost. What tutorial would you recommend for a nearly complete beginner using .46 ? The cup one looked easy enough but once I had done the outline I could not get any of my lines to bend. HELP ! Is there anywhere to contact you `? or do you have a website ?

    cheers,

    Jo
