The great thing about Ross as a composer is how sweetly musical he is. Some pyrotechnic guitarists leave me glancing at my watch or secretly working on my grocery list while they pound away, but Ross engages and transports me first, and only then do I say "wow!" and third, "yes and by the way oh please let me play the guitar half this well one day". If life were fair, musicians like him would be multimillionaires instead of the hack pop artists who are..

Compositionally, I think this is by far the best piece by Don Ross. I mean, the music is still strophic in many aspects, but this piece is much more melodic than some of his others (which are more rhythmically driven), and I love it!
