  • I seem to recall seeing Nick in the photos, but that may be that he was curious to sit in on the scene, being close to Michael. His mother was also there. You're right though, I do think the two scenes with Michael, and Nick are totally different locations. Due to the inaccessibility for the horses etc I always thought. Oh well, I plan to do more of the Mendips soon. I have a place in mind which I need to check out a few miles from Cheddar.

  • Lovely place, and a fabulous fime setting. thank you. When you go back to Draycott Sleights, do take a still from TGE to compare it with, as I stubbornly refuse to believe that it was shot there! I would love to be prooved wrong though :-)

  • We have heard a few people think that it wasn't the place at all. We'd need to make a better visit to ascert definatively. We have some bad copies of photos taken by a relative of Michael's at the tor. Alas nothing in our HTV paperwork that says anything about where it was. It looks right, but on screen when it cuts to Nick, the landscape behind it all wrong. It's definately The Mendips. Hold this space. The mystery will be solved when it can.

  • I dont think Nick grace was at the 'Tor' shooting at all, two completely different locations were spliced together possibly. Nick grace is never in the same shot as MP or JT. I have scoured Draycott Sleights a few times with stills from TGE to compare it to, and have never found an even close match. I thought it may be Crook Peake which is opposite Brent Knoll, but have ruled that out too. Most mysterious !

  • beautiful again!! Did you manage to get to the Draycott Sleights in the Mendip Hills? which was the setting for Loxley's last stand.

  • Not this time around. Have been there twice mind though, years back. Early next year we'll do more, including the little known sites.

  • I remember this location from "Arthur of the Britons" and "The Swords of Wayland." Two great series filmed in that wonderful, evocative, spot. Thank you!
