Wow! These words speak of a prophecy that was fulfilled just a few years ago. I wish I would have listened to the words back in the 1980's. Now I really am all jammed up with credit, and there is nothing I can do. Life really is just bits of paper, flying away from me. I should have learned this lesson fast, and learned it well, because this is no upwardly mobile freeway. It really is the road to hell. I am stuck on it for an additional 30 to 40 years, although I pay everything cash now.

First time I heard this song was on a winter's night just after christmas in a bar i frequently visit. I enjoyed a nice 18 year old Glenfiddich and the barkeeper put on this song. Now everytime I hear this I feel nice and warm with the taste of a wonderful scotch in my mouth.

Sounds like this could have been in the "Natural Born Killers" soundtrack, right alonside Leonard Cohen's "The Future". Actually, I hate to say it, but doesn't Cohen's tune sound like it "borrowed" from this one? Maybe it's just the same "feel", I dunno. I'm not a musician. But I know quality when I hear it, and Chris has struck gold here.
