While what seems to be a majority of this crowd was lame to them, this is probably my favorite live performance of them that I've watched so far. The emotion is bone-shattering.
i don't blame them for stopping their show 15 minutes early, the people on the top risers don't even look like they know who the hell brand new even is, there's like 3 people fist pumping in the whole crowd, what a joke, there is no reason brand new shouldn't have been all over the radios
@idlelifemusic Deaf people enjoy music just like hearing people do. They like to be able to "feel" the music so a concert setting would be an ideal scene for them.
What a weak fucking crowd! Sure you guys might have wanted to see rage against the machine but they fucking wrecked that shit they should have showed them some love
I saw Rage and Brand New, and no offense to Brand New (since I obviously like them by watching this video) but Rage is straight up the most epic live show ever. I would hate to have to play before them hahaha
@boringerik It's awesome. Believe it or not, deaf people listen to alot of music. I have my friend who will sit on speakers or lay down with her ear right next to it so she can feel the vibrations and beat.
@idlelifemusic Thats an ignorant thing to say deaf people hear music just in a different way obviously they can't hear the lyrics but the can feel the pulse and beats which is still music and it sounds different with each song. :D
@idlelifemusic lol good idea! after we all blow our ears from playing our music too loud well go there so jesse lacey can scream vibrations through our chests, yes that sounds wierd but its ment that way
@idlelifemusic you can still feel the music when you are deaf. I have a deaf friend who has a system in his car. I think its awesome that they think of others like that
Nah. Just search "Jesse Lacey lollapalooza explosions in the sky" on google, find the link for the website absolutepunk(dot)net, you'll see the story.
@TheCox93 vin wrote most of the stuff off of the devil and god, but I think Jesse was more pissed than emotional about the song, I wouldn't put it past him lol
@airball214 I think you're confusing TDAG with Daisy. Jesse wrote every song on TDAG, except Handcuffs. The whole band wrote Degausser; Vin & Jesse wrote Sowing Season and Not The Sun.
@airball214 VIn wrote about half of Daisy, not TDAG, I forget the exact songs though. I know Vin wrote Daisy and Gasoline though. They co wrote a couple too, including At The Bottom. Jesse wrote Vices and Bought a Bride. Jesse is a much better lyricist than Vinnie in my opinion though.
I was there with my friends. They didn't want to watch, so I just stood way back. To their defense, it was insanely hot and everyone was drunk and tired.
This simply was not the right time slot for Brand New. It probably wasn't even the right venue. I don't think they belong in a festival setting. They need a dark, medium-sized club. I remember him telling us to go watch Explosions In The Sky instead. It was clear he didn't want to be there. Hate to say it, but he was being a bitch.
@keithfan555 he was the same way at Rutgerfest 2010. it was 90 degrees out and he looked like he didnt want to be there. It was amazing regardless haha.
It's pretty funny to see this when you're used to Jesse being so chill and calm during his interviews/ live performances. But it was pretty badass how they just left at the end.
you people are stupid if you think he threw his guitar out of rage. if you listen to his lyrics (which are all written by him), theres a lot of emotion put into them. he was most likely letting out his emotion through this song. thats probly why he threw his guitar.
He was mad at the crowd because no one left after he said that they should go over to see Explosions In the Sky play. Then apparently he said something like, "You're all fools."
But on the day! That I show up they'll be completely...OUT OF THEIR FORGIVENESS SUPPLY! AND THEY DON'T HAVE A TELEPHONE!!!!! So I can't tell you. I can't tell you, that I'm dead and gone. So you won't know!
wow. amazing performance as expected, this song is probably the best track from devil and god IMO... whats more amazing, is that there's a sign language interpreter (on the left side of this vid) doing the lyrics. that's pretty weird
I love phantom of the opera hahahahaha he ius playing phantom!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahaha thats so AMAZING!!!!!!!! and they have someone signing the lyrics in the far left corner, which is also awesome.
All the songs make sense, people just often don't understand the meanings. They talk alot about governmental problems and everyone thinks their just talking about a girl or something. Some do, many don't.
these guys dont give a fuck about our government. maybe 1 or 2 songs can be related to "govermental problems" the songs are about relationships with friends, girls and some are about faith and life problems. i think you are looking too deep man.
I like Brand New about a million times more than Rage...I don't know why I got a thumbs down. I was just wondering if you can actually hear the audience yelling for rage because I've watched this video about a thousand times and have never heard it, yet everyone talks about the audience was yelling for rage.
Did you read the description? The poster of this video said the front row were chanting "bring on rage" You prolly can't hear it in this video.. because they're playing.. the OG poster was there... so that's where all the talk of Rage is coming from.
This song is about Katie, the little girl who died in the limousine, and you say it doesn't make sense or watever that he would write two songs about the same thing, but it's not like music has rules. Jesse can write watever the fuck he wants if he feels strong enough about it
This is so fuckin sad. hes fucking pouring himself all over that stage, yet with the mentality that nothing he does or says will justify or redeem him. Its about his daughter right? amazing performance. breathtaking.
true music is all about the lyrics, and there simply is no comparison between a song like you won't know or limousine as opposed to some shit like guerilla radio by rage
