  • Excellent!!! Well done!

  • Good one!

  • This is great! I love Mary Hopkin's version, of course, but hearing THIS is a real treat.

  • we sing this song at school to day! :) And i sing it for a little girl :)

  • good job mate

  • ILL TAKE IT! I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Guy, you are fantastic, it's just a perfect version of this song. Few minutes ago I commented on Mary Hopkin's video that I wish Paul had made an official record. There's no official record, but this one compenses everything.

  • lol wow great job

  • You must be the 5th Beatle!

  • Good job, people. Really.

Now, can I convince you guys to tell me the tabs for that righteous solo you guys have there?

I'd like to play this song at a gig I have in a couple weeks.

  • By the way, what program did you use to edit the tracks? I use Magix samplitude pro for my songs, but I'm just an amateur musician, you sound more professional, like you actually studied sound engineering.

  • Oh, nevermind, I just listened the first time while reading the people comments, I actually watched the video now and read the comments embedded.

  • Did you play the rest of the instruments? Isn't it done like the rest of the songs edited with parts of the original records?

  • Good job!

  • Good work, bet you have enjoyed that didnt you... ha ha

did you play / write the solo at 1.16? nice

Is the intro an electro acoustic?

    Cheers dude

  • que hermoso tema es puro beatle gracias por editarlo asi .

  • I love it!! I love it!! OMG I love it!!!! his voice is so beautiful, and the instruments sound fabulous!!!! thank you so much!

  • pretty fuckin good!

    congrats my friend!

  • nice job - I may use this on my radio show

    Pete

  • Would be better in Abbey Road than Her Majesty. A final goodbye to the fans after the end

  • Very well done, adapting Paul's original vocals by adding the remainder of "The Beatles" by style and accompaniment. This piece is virtually authentic in its sound. Very true to the original, just as though it had been recorded by The Beatles ensemble.

  • PAUL IS GENIUS LIKE MOZART BACH AND OTHER COMPOSERS.GOD BLESS HIM!!!

  • I dind' know of this song ...from which album is it??

  • SIMPLY FANTASTIC! I've been looking for this for years!!!! I'd first heard it on the radio in 1996, never thought I could find it again... thank you so much for posting!!!!

  • Amo questa canzone, amo tutto dei Beatles.Grazie a dio sono nato negli anni giusti.

  • I can't tell you how happy your version makes me every time I listen to it. Come on love - give us a link! ;)

  • Great job on the back trax.. Hell yea...

  • Buen trabajo y buenas fotos lo mejor es que el sonido esta apegado a los arreglos beatlemaniacos en hora buena

  • Ahh, I love this so much. I listen to it all the time. It really sounds great with this backing.

  • This is a great homemade remix. You should do more.

  • Love the sample from Flying.

  • I showed this to my Beatle fan friend and now he believs that this is a Beatles song, and back vocals and the rest of the instruments are also recorded by Beatles :) What a great job you did! Now he's going crazy thinking he jsut found a new Beatles song!

  • Well done! Sounds authentic. One thing I might have suggested would have been to put another guitar on the solo as a harmony part ala Beatles style.

  • this sounds like a song that should be in the White Album :) AWESOME!!

  • Love the pictures near the end of them preparing to shoot the 'Abbey Road' cover. That old woman was witnessing musical history in the making.

  • hold on a second now...

are you saying that this recording is REALLY the BEATLES ? i mean not just

McCartney, but ALL OF THEM ?

  • @MrLizardisle Oh, I thought the video explanation sort of made it clear. The demo is Paul playing with his acoustic guitar, and is augmented and completed by me in Beatle style, adding more instruments and backing vocals.

  • @gaius476 ah so this is what you mean by ''augmented''...

nice job, nontheless ! thanx for the reply.

  • Its Easy ...to put this song on ur ipod...just use REALPLAYER...and then convert to MP3 simple as A-B-C.

  • does anyone know what album this is on? or was it not released on record/CD :)

  • @IAMTHEALMIGHTYGOD

ITS JUST A DEMO, YOU CAN FIND BOOTLEGS BEATLES CDS ALL OVER THE WEB.

    CHEERS.

  • dont know why they gave this away to mary--this is great unheard version-amazing track--thx for finding it and posting

  • sounds more like a white album song or just a good Beatles double a side single

  • This is lovely.

although Mary hopkin performed her version very well, I just love paul's voice!

  • This is a beautiful song. Although mary hopkin performs it well, she just can't beat Paul's voice!

  • Wish I could put this on my ipod.

  • Congratulations ! Very Nice !

  • Wow. What a discovery. This could have been yet another Beatles smash, huh?

  • Nice job. Background vocals are very realistic.

  • Nice job. Background vocals are very realistic.

  • Man, just how many great songs did Paul write? This is one of them.

  • awesome!

  • Hello, hello to this sweet 'Goodbye'. I remember the Mary Hopkin version.

  • great, but i want to know in which album i can find this song...thank you. from venezuela

  • This is so FANTASTIC!!! This enchants me more than Mary Hopkins or Paul's demo ever could.

  • great job on the added tracks & production. do you have this posted without the added tracks?

  • When you guys recorded these songs, did you do any of them at Abbey Road?

  • When you guys recorded these songs, did you do any of them at Abbey Road?

  • wait did you work on this or was this all just Paul? If you worked on this amazing job! Actually even if you didn't work on this it still sounds great lol

  • you own the book "the complete beatles recording sessions"?

  • The fact that you could provide a backing track without any evidence of Paul losing time shows what an excellent musician he is!

  • Brilliant job. Just brilliant! A real credit to Paul... who, by the way, never died in 1966.

  • this is actually cool. thanks.

  • more like white album style

  • @east37thstreet do you say that because of blackbird?

  • great job on this!!

  • i really wish this song was put onto one of their albums! it really should have been on Abbey Road! it's a shame!

  • @rpasser1 the opening lick is exactly the guitar part leading into the second chorus of "Flying" from MMT

  • i want this song!! but i don't believe it's out on cd :(

  • the demo should have been put on anthology 3, but I bet at least one "Beatle" or their representative put the mockers on it

  • his voice sounds so sweet *-*

  • refreshing!

  • If Paul wrote a song for me, I'd cherish that moment for the rest of my life.

  • why wasn't this included on Anthology?!

  • What an honor to have a Paul song written for you.

  • only Paul could have written this. love it!

  • I like that photo at 1:22. It just goes to show that in the group, there were good times and bad times.

  • All the roads lead to the Beatles, thus:

I started with a video of a Mexican group, Rocking Devils, who recorder Good Bye in Spanish,

then I clicked on the video of Mary Hopkin, who recorded it in Spanish too,

then I clicked on the video of her playing the song in English with Macca,

then I clicked on this one.....

  • yes

  • This is a great song. (:

  • muy bueno hermano, congratulaciones!!!

  • Very nice, didn't know this was around, always loved the song, Paul, as always, sounds great....oldboy68

  • this sounds like it could have been in abbey road

  • @thefoxmandog it does, I could picture it being the last track on the album maybe as a medley with "Her Majesty"

  • @thefoxmandog i don't think so..it wouldn't fit in this album

  • this song is so beutiful

  • Impressive...Thanks for sharing.

  • a great version of the song, yes the demo version is hard to beat but have to say well done on this effort

  • @bazwil I find this much better then the demo, as it is the demo just overdubbed.

  • Very nice. Great job!

  • I hear brass for this song, like in Martha My Dear and Mother nature's Son.

  • at 1:09 John and Paul look exactly like Peter and Gordon

  • Realy great work ! I'm sure The Beatles themself would love this version.

    Even it isn't Paul's style.

    Thumbs up for that !

  • You cant be sure. Paul has a lot of styles!

  • Thank you for uploading this version, Sir!

Love both original and this virtual version.

In original version i love the simple & pure guitar, in this version love the conscious percusions and drums...

Many many thanks from me :D

  • gaius, good shot, but i do like the orginal demo better. look it up folks. Paul was very careful with his songs, he pressed for perfect rendition, something the other ones didn't. I don't see him having that sloppy percussion in the background...

  • I hope all of you know this song is NOT The Beatles or Paul. It's overdubbed using modern technology to make it sound like what the Beatles could have sounded like, hence, virtual Beatles song. The real Paul McCartney demo is used to make this virtual song. The demo is actually quite good. You can tell this song had great potential. Add this song with Come And Get It, just to name 2 songs that were given to other artists, they could have been on the White Album. Would have been interesting.

  • Yeah, and it's amazing

  • WOW! I'd never heard their version! I've always loved Mary's record, but never knew they'd done this. It's fabulous, as always. :)

  • This song could have easily ended up on the "White Album". Maybe as "Mother Nature's Daughter" ?

  • WOW, GREAT PICTURES and GREAT song, thanks!!!

  • Much better than Mary's. Its actually a good a song. It sounds so annoying in her voice.

  • theres a big delay on the voice. i never noticed that

  • at 2:31 , they r=are just about to photograph the cover for the Abbey Road album or already have.

  • This is the first time I've heard this. I didn't know Paul wrote this for Mary Hopkins. Once again I've got to say it...Paul is a genious!

  • This is lovely.

    I'm having major nostalgia here...

  • Nice job, I loved it. Please listen and watch my version of BIRTHDAY in my video response

    5 *****

    :) Eric

  • where is that picture at 0:21 from?

  • Paul McCartney is a real genious writing pop- songs. But Mary Hopkin´s version is much better. So it was maybe a good decision. But who knows if The Beatles had finished this song... What could it habe been ?

  • what are the chords?

  • Never heard this one! Paul is just such a talented one isn't he--not fair really, one person with so much ability! Great posting!!

  • Sorry, aber trotz besserem Equitment und Arrangemengs kommen die Beatles nicht an das Original(Mary Hopkin)nicht heran.

  • Very cool. Thanks for doing that.

  • whos playing the insturments? is it all mccartney?

  • Good ol Paul sounds good on this he should have released this

  • i wish there wasnt that annoying percussion thing in the bkground...its like the mary hopkins version on steriods...otherwise the guitar n pauls voice = thumbs up!

  • good job

  • I've been looking for this version for 14 years, and now I've finally found it! THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting it, YouTube is great indeed - even when they cut out our legs and take this kind of FINDING out of the system.

Once more, wonderful. It's a wonderful arrangement, sounds like complete and real studio version, and could pass as a single with perfection. THANKS ONCE MORE, unforgettable day.

  • As a Beatle lover and now an old one. Knew Mary's version and that it was a Mccartney sond but never heard him sing it,he never stops amazing me what a singer, not bad

  • What a find! Thanks for posting.

  • Wow! Never hear this one. Probably just a demo and they never persued it beyond that. What talent. I'm constantly amazed by the new discoveries I make within their music. And I've been a listener/lover since 1964.

  • I was wondering why Ringo's drums seemed a bit lacking in this song ;o

  • imagine what it would of been like if all these wonderful songs were relased as singles or made into a another Beatles album.Though i can see the freedom for them all to get away from each other and take a break.you'd probably need some sort of downtime from the same people after 12 odd years.

  • Nice arrangement!

    Nice Beatles song in fact.

I never knew this was a Paul McCartney song, and hardly remember the Mary Hopkins version even.

Check out Lennon at 0:53 - he looks like Peter Sellers!

And George Martin at 1:49 - the not so widely known producer and so-called "5th Beatle" - I love the strings and brass he added to songs like "Strawberry Fields Forever", Penny Lane, etc. Brilliant.

Wait, just remembered, that should be "Sir" George Martin.

  • on 0.29 you see a righthand bass, so this is no picture of the beatle equipment.. ;-)

  • if that is the start of the abbey road photo shoot where theyre all dressed up I notice Paul is wearing shoes at this stage

  • This is great. it should be released, after remxing..

  • Paul did have a lot of caberet in him, dent he? Can't imagine how they were even able to tie their shoes with all the scrutiny they were under..

  • Nicely done!!!(the "Flying" intro is great:)

  • Best band forever.

  • It sounds like an outtake from the White album....Well done

  • Muy bien muchachos !!!

  • sounds like u just added echo 2 pauls voice

    very nice

  • it's not actually an "echo", it's a multi-tap "follow me" delay.-

  • This is SO cool. I've had the acoustic McCartney version forever, but this so sounds like how The Beatles would've done it. Great job!

  • what kinda of guitar is the black acoustic

  • The Gibson J-160E, or the J-200.

  • how can i make a Sound Treatment with the demo of 1882 by Paul McCartney

  • Great! How about Beatle versions of their solo hits. Cold Turkey, Maybe I'm Amazed, Isn't It A Pity, Photograph. One can only dream on how these songs would have sound if The Beatles recorded them. Make it happen.

  • Really, really well done. a few quibbles (eg the opening guitar part might have been quickened and I would have ended the song at about 2:48), but these are just minor personal preferences. Generally- quite an enhancement of the original.

  • Listen to this on my CD player all the time, thanks boys amazing!

  • do you sell this stuff? i'd buy your CD in a backbeat!!! :))

  • aw this song is so smooth i've melted right off my chair mate! great work as always, you do 'em proud! :))

  • Great montage !Love that song

  • Great. Was the original track only Paul and guitar?

  • Yes, it's widely available as a bootleg

  • Great job, keep it up!

  • I still think Mary Hopkin is one ungrateful girl!!!!!!

  • Listen to this all the time. Love it guys!

  • Alright! Thank you. Good work.

  • awesome.

  • Sohasem hallottam ezelőtt a Beatlestől ezt a dalt.Tőlük is tetszik.

    Zelefant/Magyarország

  • Really nice song.

  • you are freakin' awesome

  • Ah, nice! And just what they'd sound today I'll bet! I've only got a REALLY dodgy sounding bootleg version of the original recording, so this sounds really fresh!

  • it is really sound as if the fab four played it

  • Please COULD YOU UPLOAD A MP3 VERSION?

    thanks!

  • THis is great,I love it!!!

  • Good job...I think the bass is a hair shy and the thigh slaps are a hair loud perhaps.. Sounds good though... I would have maybe used a George style ukelele to contrast the texture of all those guitars.... thats just me.. good job like it--wheres the next one ?

  • nice!

  • NOt bad good job.
