I would like a Stargate show that takes place in an alternate universe in which they didn't give up after the accident with Ernest, managed to rescue him, figured out how dialing works, killed Ra on Abidos, then exercised proper precautions, like not going to any world the Goa'uld know about, not revealing where they come from, and keeping the gate buried when not in use. They then operate from secret bases on other worlds, stealing and studying Goa'uld tech.
@Lestibournes It would be interesting to see them encounter more advanced worlds, including a world similar to modern-day earth.
I would also like to see it more consistent. Plasma beams and ion canons sound impressive, but we should be able to produce stuff like that now. After all, ionized plasma is used by fusion reactors right now, and since it's ionized it can be accelerated using an EM field. I would appreciate it if they stopped using impressive names for not so impressive tech.

(now they have 100 episodes to repeat with out the cost of new episodes) this is also why they only had 100 episodes of SG-1 made. (the first 100 were made during its run on another channel) SGU was a attempt to keep a Stargate series on TV, however in today's TV market shows need to be an instant hit or they get canned. so today SG-1 may not even have reached 100 episodes. it sucks but sadly true.
oh and BTW, the 3/4 movies? (SG-1, SGA, SGU and a crossover movie) were cancelled for a number of reasons. the economic crisis, direct-to-DVD just isn't that profitable these days as they were wen this movie came out. and the problems at MGM all caused the delay and now -very likely- their cancellation.
so if you want to blame someone blame syfy, the Stargate guys wanted to make much more SG-1 and SGA. but they were not allowed too, SGU was just an attempt to keep it going.

The Ark of Truth was ok but Continuum was brilliant!!! The storyline was interesting and visual effects were great. This based-on-TV show movie was as great as Babylon 5 and Farscape's films. All the actors/actresses did a wonderful job but Ben Browder, Claudia Black and Michael Shanks were just brilliant!!! I wish creators of TV shows Lexx, Earth: Final Conflict, SeaQuest and The 4400 made movies like this one
it was overdone though ... this must've been the 3rd time or so that the timeline was changed and then restored more or less! as for storyline, action and overall performance the 2 parter "moebius" was far superior than this flick (mostly because of the original SG1 team) instead of giving us something new, its again something we had seen in this series one too many times !!!
@Sicthesoran He bookends the movie in the proper timeline and gets a little screen time in the alternate timeline. RDA's not starring, but he does have a substantial role.
Too bad, the series started with a blockbuster, ends with a straight to video/DVD. No offense to Dragon Ball Z at all but how does it get an in-theatres 3 movie deal and a show that's been on for 10 years doesn't get a movie sequal in theatres?
I know - I live in England and I had to wait a month and few days to get it - and then they made me wait an extra two weeks to get it - so all in all - it was like two months after it was released which sucked! I wanted to go on the forums and chat like a geek!
I simply can't wait for this to come out :D Though why do they feel compelled to say at the end "Stargate Continuum - The Movie" What, is there a "Stargate Continuum - The Video Game" coming out and they feel the need to differentiate? (Although I think the MMO Stargate Worlds is going to be awesome, I'd still love a good SG-1 First Person Shooter :D )
