@babeofelvis This is a very unusual recording in that I've never heard it aired on any radio station in my life which makes me think that most of the world has never heard this...and it's a shame since it is a beautiful cover of a marvelous song. Thanks for the note...Lanny (Nocaro)
@Nocaro Well, even in the old Apartheid South Africa, they used to play this song on the radio.Maybe you were not paying attention when they played this song or when someone played it in your country.I have known this song since childhood in the late 60s to 70s.But I preferred the version sung by Carole King which I first heard in the late 70's when I was a teenager and a young woman, beginning to be aware of myself ( and the world around me) LOL!!
@miss3v3lyn I am a former dj, and, of course, have listened to a lot of music over the course of my 62 years, and I've never heard this version ever played on the radio anywhere in the U.S. The original Shirelles hit you hear all the time, but this one is pretty special.
@Nocaro Oh,Ok,it's understandable. As for me I have never known any other version by Brook Benton except this one.Beautiful song that brings back innocent memories. My uncles and aunts used to play Brook Benton and other Black-American artists a lot and in those days Black-American music was THE music.
@babeofelvis First time I have ever heard this version. Never heard this version played on Australian radio. Still digesting this sleek, soft, mushy version. Bit too much swoon, but it doesn't stop me from hearing the loving splendour oozing out of Benton's mouth, more sensual than Deano. Benton was some kind of demi-god perhaps. A voice which lends itself to sing anything. He could have replaced any TWO of the Drifters and done the impossible: made the Drifters sound better than perfect.
I love listening to Brook Benton... he puts such feeling into every song he sings. His voice is so soothing to listen to. Thanks for sharing his music.
I always thing of a woman singing this song...... Because it's the woman that's normally asking this question..... Will you still love me tomorrow? Love the song....
i never heard his version but i like it but in order without the doubt its the shirelles and how about DAVE MASONS version?

I love this song as well. It just makes you swoon. Jackie De Shannon can really sing it too.

As much as I like The Shirelles, Brook beats the socks off them with this cover.
