I've grown up on various gaming systems and people would be hard pressed to find a discerning difference between me and a non-gamer as far as violent tendencies go. I really hate that the news only concentrates on games with "graphic violenece" all though kid games can portray violence by hitting each other with hammers or knocking them out with something stupid. I feels more like we fear exposing our kids to blood and gore than to violence.

I dont think violent video games have no effect on children i have been playing violent video games scince i was 6 yrs old like GTA, call of duty, medal of honor, turok, teken,and much more. im 15 now and not one but violent. sure if someone phyicly hurts me i will hurt them back bt thats normal. parents need to stop freaking out about rating systems. even some parents wont let their kids watch spongebob. i say expose kids to violence and drugs and teach them what it is and why its wrong.

parents need to be more responsible for what their children are playing... the average age of gamers is 25-30. Some children as young as grade one are playing GTA. That is ridiculous.

I think if a child of any age shows the maturity, or understanding of the difference between reality and fantasy, they should be able to play any game they want to. Grand Theft Auto is completely unrealistic, and someone who can tell the difference understands. Video games dont teach violence, Nationalism does

Violence is a part of everyday life, but you don't have to play video games to know that. Just watch the news! Any sane and mature individual would know that violence is not permissible.

I rented this and the whole motion controls thing is pretty exaggerated. It's really just waving the controller from side to side or up and down in set patterns. I can why it confuses your average soccer mom but in practice up-left-down doesn't really feel any more brutal or violent, than X-B-Y on any other controller.

The violent games or the argument against video games seems like its almost ALWAYS conducted by people who never play the games themselves. I've grown up on various gaming systems and people would be hard pressed to find a discerning difference between me and a non-gamer as far as violent tendencies go. I like how another video showed that parents were less concerned about their kids underage drinking (something DEFINETLY mind altering) or exposure to pornography than to video games.

im 14, My first game was "Delta Force" back when I was about 5, I would use them in a military training PClab while dad worked (hes a marine), then came halo which had an awesome storyline...My mom hated the games, but my dad knew they were ok, and now, Im glad I played becaue that gaming got me into computers, which is fun and awesome
