Man, Price sure has been lucky giving cars away when they are offered in a non-car game first! I know of two other instances this season besides this one. Too awesome! ^^
At first when the car was shown(1:39), it was at the right, & I thought "why the staff didn't park it in the middle of the stage door?" Then I know why when the scond car come in. Also, it the first time we heard this very long car cue. Usually, it only lasted 25 seconds.
Usually when Cliffhangers is played for a car. I always say the game is going to be a loss. Luckilly these players examined the items and missed the 2nd item by one and the 3rd one by only a few. It's the first time I have seen a Cliffhangers win with a car since the Bob Barker era.
Ew, Hyundai Accents. A nice surprise for a non-car game, though, but kind of weird to Mike to do it for this game since it can't really be set up for a loss. I wish Mike would continue Roger's tradition of occasionally playing 3 games for cars, though.
The mother really knew how to play this game! I wonder how often she watches the show, because she and her daughter were the first players in a while to make reasonable guesses on all three items.
@WayoshiM There is precedent for cheaper cars in two-car games/double car showcases; usually It's Optional would have something fairly low-end, Chevettes or cruddy 4-banger Camaros; I also remember a showcase where you'd have 2 Subaru Justys at the end. Not surprising, but a $29K prize package ain't bad, regardless.
This went a lot better than "Pass the Buck" did.

@GameShowNetwork - I dare them to drive with those plates on the front of the cars. They'd get stolen quick. ^.^

This episode also had two SP games in it. I wonder why?

For two cars, that was such an easy setup. I was expecting an evil forced loss.

I bet Rhonda and Andrew were PISSED. They 1up'd the wrong bid, and lost out on two cars as a result.

were the prizes in that 20/30/40 loss worth $64 or $116 combined. If $116, 25/35/45 would have won.

I hate how nobody realizes that if you guess 20-30-40, you will NEVER lose.
RCPlanes59 10 months ago
@RCPlanes59 Either that or lose by $1...there definitely was a playing this or last season where 20/30/40 resulted in $26 total difference.

Is there a record for the most accurate playing of Cliffhangers? I've been wondering that for a while.
airbender10001 10 months ago
@airbender10001 yes in 2002 a contestant got all 3 of the SP's right without the mountain climber even moving. That's the record.

@GameShowGamer Heaven forbid a 3 car day! We don't have room for those in the budget anymore with all that designer crap and luxury cars!
Also, of course it was 2 cheapo cars, otherwise we'd be getting into Big 3 territory (and Triple Play wouldn't have made much sense, honestly).
