  • I make something like this, but I use ground pork, and I also put cheese on the top near the end, as well as onions and garlic to the mix. Keep the dry rub and homemade BBQ suace, and man is it good! Good try, takes some practice to get this down, but you really need to put this in a smoker, or a BBQ with a smoke box for full effect and flavour. Cheers!

  • OH yeah that's why I personally would use ground pork and season how I'd like. I don't like fennel either. Taste too much like licorice and I HATE licorice. I can't wait to try this though.

  • this is so funny one of my parents friends made this for my dad for his birthday, i didnt know it was from the NY times lol. i thought it was a family recipe of hers ... i couldent eat it but it smelled awsome. i think i am the only american that HATES bacon.
