  • geil....wie elegant sie das macht..;)

  • Much more graceful than kaneava, but that releve of hers is just horrible. Not like I can do any better. Haha :)

  • I fell in love with this routine the very first time I saw it!! <3

  • I wonder why the cameramen thinks we want to see Daria's face when shes turning... 1:33

  • @aejo94101 it's swan lake, the introduction :)

  • this is the music which is in the start of the movie black swan :) btw it's such a beautiful routine <3

  • what's the name of this music???

  • what's the name of this song?? :)

  • Classic & elegant !

  • Five revolutions in the penchee turn? No one else can do that.

  • Comment removed

  • @Tribute2the80s Actually, Kondakova can do that.

  • @Tribute2the80s Bessonova also performed that skill at 2003 WC

  • @abrahamnextel Which apparatus?

    +

  • @Tribute2the80s Hoop AA

  • @guiy16 I never said that i think the score was okay, in fact i think is a little bit overscored too, but maybe the reason to not take it seariously is cuz' she stayed out of the podium??

  • @guiy16 which one is the penché i'm not familiar with french terms, in arabesque Zhukova had a beautiful balance as well on the front scale pirouettes (i guess those are the penché pirouettes) cuz' i remember she just made 2 but very pretty too, but maybe is far difficult make 4, 5 or more frontscale turns with a high releve, beside it i'm accord to you =)

  • muy buena rutina...muy elegante...

  • I mean lovely, but she turns, pivotes and in the end flexes her back and that's it..lacks of variety and low releve' :( such a pity cause she is more elegant than kanaeva...

  • This routine is good i like it, but her low releve isn't something much of my taste, i only justified low releves in front scale pivots, because it's too hard mantain a high releve in that position but in arabesque, passe or foutte it doesn't have some king of ammnesty at my view

  • she's really good ! love her back !

  • i love moment at 0:27 :)

  • I love Viner's expression when the scores come up. lol! But lovely gymnast and lovely routine!

  • oh my god !!!!!!!!!!! beautiful beuatiful 1:45

  • what's the name of this marvellous music??? please!

  • Kanaeva also produces memorable perfomances but altough she was the best in Mie, she doesn't shine as in Beijing maybe the stress... Dmitrieva is good also but i feel her ankle don't get the same high as Kanaeva or Bessonova... i thnk Kanaeva will be the second individual russian who will go to 2 olympics and also that she will be the first back to back queen of the olympic games =)

  • o my god it is beautiful 1:47

  • How do they hold the ball on their back without it falling?

  • @KittyCatZoey1691 ikr!!!!

  • i think kanaeva's ball routine was perfect, she keeps the elegance and her routines are full of artistic memorable movs she has..... how to say it... she has like an angel, i think kanaeva is the best on ball, ribbon and rope, on the other hand bessonova is the best on hoop

  • Daria's a little robotic, and she needs to put more feeling to the routine, but considering that she's really young, and she has a lot to learn yet, she's elegant.

I wanna see daria dimitrieva, not a copy of kanaeva or kabaeva. And she's showing that she's different.

  • Fabulous. She just have to improve her releve to be the perfect gimnast.Amazing turns and amazing back flex.

  • I think she's good, great in fact, but there's something on the russian gymnast that just doesn't like me. I can't figure out yet what it is.

Of all the russians since 2000 the only one i like is tchachina, even when the training is the same of kabaeva or kanaeva, her routines are different. Maybe is the fact that she doesn't contortion that much.

  • No its just the fact that Zhenya and Tchachina had the same coach and were thought the same way

  • @iamtheladyofsorrows

but i think she's different... tchachina too. she can involving you in her exhibition...

anyway i think that russian gymnasts are very strange... it seems that they want to boast... but it isn't the same thing for Dmitrieva and Tchachina...

(sorry for my english but I'm italian ... =) )

  • @GigioLord yes, you're right about tchachina's routines. Now, i don't think the russians wants to boast, but to show they're capable of. The problem is that mostly they dont do it with elegance. Tchachi and zhenya, do it. I havent seen to many routines of dimitrieva to say.

  • @iamtheladyofsorrows ok. i think that you haven't seen many videos of dmitrieva cause she's younger than other russian gymnasts! =)

anyway i've got your same ideas! LOL

  • @GigioLord haha ok, its true. I hope i'll get a good impression of her in london 2012

  • @iamtheladyofsorrows okok... we must wait 2 years--- =( lol

  • I think her ball performce was better then Kanaeva

  • @LovelyMe93lol, kanaeva was the olympic champion.

  • @Krikiky95 , what did I write?

  • @LovelyMe93 that Dmitrievas ball was better than kanaevas, i think also like you do.

But we have to remember the fact that Kanaeva was the olympic champion, and that`s why she was 1st. ;)

  • @Krikiky95 , yes. You´re right.

  • @LovelyMe93 I don't agree. Dmitrieva dropped the ball, whereas Kanaeva only had some little problems in this final.

  • @KalinkaRG , I don't caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare.

  • @LovelyMe93 she had a fall....

  • @NewMinako , I wrote I DON'T CARE! :)

  • Music?

  • By the way, I think Dmitrieva is so much prettier than Kondakova (0:23)

  • A quintuple penchee turn is pretty impressive. Never seen that before.

  • @Tribute2the80s Yes, that turn is impressive but I think the best is the one performed by Bessonova, on her hoop routine in the AA at Budapest (2003).

  • @abraham0089 That was a very nice turn. Especially for 2003. But Bessonova seems to struggle with keeping her back leg at a stable height throughout the turn.

  • I have noticed that Russia, through the years, always has a team with basically two kinds of gymnasts: the one who does contortionism and rare stuff, and the one who is more elegant or who seems more to a ballerina. Just take a look to the past:

  • *1996: Amina Zaripova (contortionist), Yana Batyrshina (elegant)

*2000: Alina Kabaeva: (contortionist), Yulia Barsoukova (elegant)

*2004: Alina Kabaeva (contortionist...again), Irina Tchachina (elegant)

*2007: Olga Kapranova (contortionist), Vera Sessina (elegant)

*2008: Olga Kapranova (contortionist), Evgenia Kanaeva...contorsionist (sorry but there is not an elegant gymnast here).

*And finally, 2009: Daria Kondakova (contortionist), Daria Dmitrieva (elegant).

    Am I right???

  • I dunno if I would label Kondakova a contortionist. Her strength is her turning ability.

  • @Tribute2the80s --- I think I was wrong with the labels "contortionist" and "elegant" --- they would be better "commercial" and artistic".

  • Ok. I still think Kondakova is more enjoyable to watch and truer to the spirit of the sport than Kabaeva (post Syndney) and Kanaeva.

  • @Tribute2the80s you must be blind because kanaeva is very graceful and she uses her flexibility elegantly. kanaeva keeps true to the spirit of RG.

  • @wittenevel My problem with Kanaeva is that although she has immense difficulty with her body elements and often, too, with her body elements, her routines seem boring to watch, lacking passion and personality, and she tends to perform to the classical equivalent of elevator music.

  • @wittenevel So when I say "true to the sport" I'm thinking of gymnasts like Bessonova, Risenson, Cid, and often Peycheva...who don't win like Kanaeva does but produce more memorable and artistic routines.

  • @abraham0089 ,HOLA ESTOY DE ACUERDO CONTIGO VINNER SIEMPRE LE GUSTA TENER 2 TIPOS DE GIMNASTAS AUNQUE ES OBVIO QUE LAS CONTORCIONISTAS SON MAS DEL AGRADO DE ELLA,EN LO QUE NO ESTOY MUY DE ACUERDO ES EN LO DE BATYRSHINA,YANA NO TENIA NADA QUE ENVIDIARLE A ZARIPOVA,YANA ERA IGUAL DE FLEXIBLE SOLO QUE CON UN MEJOR CONTROL DE TECNICA PERO SU ESPINA DORSAL ES HASTA ESTAS FECHAS IMPRESIONANTEMENTE FLEXIBLE AL IGUAL DE DMITRIEVA QUE ES INCREIBLEMENTE FLEXIBLE PERO CON RUTINAS BASADAS

  • @abraham0089 EN EL BALLET,EN LA MANERA DE HECHIZAR,ES DMITRIEVA LO MAS PARECIDO BATYRSHINA, BARSUKOVA,TCHAHCINA,SESSINA EN LA ACTUALIDAD,POR LO QUE VEOP TE AGRADAN LAS GIMNASTAS ELEGANTES TE HAGO UNA RECOMENDACION CHECA LOS VIDEOS DE ANASTASIA GUSEVA ERA SIMPLEMENTE EXEPCIONAL A LA HORA DE LOS GIROS,LASTIMA DEL DOPAJE,SALUDOS !!!

  • kanaeva was very elegant.. just take a look at her ribbon routine at the olympics

  • @wittenevel I couldnt agree more with you and I have admit I was wrong with the comment before: Kanaeva is a gymnast who shows a lot of flexibility in her exercises, but her ribbon routine is one of my favourites and I think is one of the best routines on that Olympics. A lot of contortion, but elegant as well.

  • Aqui la proxima campeona rusa!!

    Woow

  • she`s very nice.she`s my favourite gymnast

  • I actually like her better than bessonova or kanaeva.

  • after kapranova, all the russians are like clones. She's just like kanaeva. Amazing technique and terrific balance, but, where's the charisma? The routines are so good that get to be borings. Just my opinion.

  • I can see so many other Russian RG gymnasts in her in places! Kabaeva, Kostina and Sessina. Anyone else agree?

  • outstanding performance :)

  • i like her and ermakova much more than kanaeva and kondakova...i think that they are the real representation of russia...

  • dang.. only 16? she's so cute :D

  • why did she only ball? :(

    she is fantastic!

  • I agree with you, she is amazing, especially for her age... *_* However, she did only ball because Kanaeva and Kondakova were better than her, even if she could do much better than Kapranova, who did 4 apparatuses in this competition...

  • Kapranova did 3 apparatus : Rope, Hoop and Ribbon. She didn´t do Ball(she failed in this apparatus more than ones in previous competitions)..that´s why Viner gave Ball to Dasha...

  • 3:03 is just textbook! i wish bessonova could do that too..

  • she's 16.

  • she is awesome!

  • I think that this excercise is wonderful, but daria made a terrible mistake at 1:04. If she didn't do it, she would arrive without any problem 2nd. She did a wonderful, but classical routine.. she's just 16!!! In my opinion she will be the future of Russia team because she's very elegant and she does incredible pivots!!!

  • it was not a TERRIBLE mistake ;) pls

  • It's a risk catch and in the new code it's one of the most important element. (without any argumentative tones)

  • that's true, but I just meant that it wasn't a TERRIBLE mistake in terms of penalty 'cause she took care of it quickly, although of course she didn't get the bonus points for the risk. you are right there.

  • we're both right! xD

  • we're both right xD!

  • I love her dress and the ball!!

  • i also!

  • WE LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • yep

  • By the way i like the "Kabaeva's" touch in 1:13

  • did this routine was sooo much easier than kanaeva's???

even with that mistake didn't she deserve a better score?

i'm learning about RG now so i don't realy know much.

  • yeah her difficulty is not better than kanaeva.kanaeva is too flexible and her execution better than other's

  • actually she is good but not enough in body's difficulty and the way she control the ball.angle that she turn..etc

  • i think she will be a superstar in the future.she is too young but she can do such that difficulty is not easy to any gymnastic

  • indeed this routine is very difficult but less varied than kanaeva's one. Look at the pivots, she's doing 3 times the same !! And it 's not a creative routine, contrary to Kanaeva who has a very good score at artistic.

  • True!

  • I love this routine :) Its amazing

  • I love your leotard ! <3

    You're the best Dariaaaaa

  • uurrgghhhhh!!!

  • did she only performed with ball??

  • yes

  • She is amazing and I like this routine but I've noticed that when she turns she's not really in releve...I wonder how she can do that...and it seems to me Bessonova has a pretty much better releve, or am I wrong???

  • Amazing! Amazing! oO' <3 WOW Beautiful! BRAVO!!!! :D

  • That penche pivot is amazing, even though it is clearly on flat foot. I think the score is a bit generous considering the mistakes, but yes, I prefer her to Olga, although they both share an "unfinished" quality.

Be interesting to see how she develops in the coming years.

  • Dear, the penché she performed from 0:19 - 0:24 is not a pivot, it's a flexibility... It's totally acceptable the flat foot... =D

  • Darling, since when has "spinning" (albeit poorly, on flat foot) in penche been considered a flexibility?

Also, her other penche pivot at 0:59 looks suspiciously like it's flat footed too. Am I wrong on this count as well?

    ;-)

  • Since the 2005-2008 CoP exists; And her 0:59 Pivot is a pivot+flexibility... =D

Don't you have the Cop? If you have, just say me I'm gonna show you where you can find these informations... =D

  • Gawd, Viner has really screwed up the sport when a turn that isn't really a turn is counted as a flexibility.

Probably explains why most of the Russians (and a far few of the "top" gymnasts) can't even pivot probably. Releve, what's that?!

  • Relevé is the position of the foot right up on the toes...=D

  • I was being sarcastic...but then again, I don't think most of the Russian gymnasts really know how to releve properly, and when you have the judges stacked in your favour, who needs to bother with a pesky little detail like that?

    ;-)

  • thats slightly anti-Russian dont you think. In my opinion the Russians and Ukranians dominate this sport totally! They are by far the most creative and prescise.

  • and belarusian and bulgarian athletes too..i think

  • And that is why there are no finals in the OG, excluding AA. There are too few countries who are able to take a medal. It narrows down to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Italy and maybe Kazakhstan. That is TOO few...

  • It can be either a pivot or a flexibility in the code of points, depending on whether it is performed on a flat foot or not.

  • The final sequence is very beautiful and so is her leo, but there's something about her pivots and apparatus handling that bugs me.

  • it's because her positions in the pivots are not exact. She leans the front half her body forward for balance and then arches her back. and the leg never hit the 90 degree angle. i think sessina is the only one who really hits teh positions in multiple pirouettes sequences

  • that leo is stunning

  • amazing.better than kanaeva

  • hahaha are u kidding me?? you can't compare kanaeva with this girl, kanaeva is in another level, world, universe, her routines are the most difficult ones...

however dmitrieva will be the next sensation, she is just amazing, she needs more charisma
