Nice to see the opening titles of my favourite western on U Tube, I've always loved this 1966 movie. Paul Newman gives a superb performance ,filmed at the peak of his career. It has a memorable score by David Rose and a great cast with the excellent Martin Balsam and superb direction from Martin Ritt, A classic western and one of the best.
excellent story, for a movie it's as close to reality as a movie can get. People were made of hard bark back then. The Apaches kept the whites at bay for nearly 30 years, but you would too if some one was trying to take your land.
Richard Boone to Newman,"Mister, you've got a lot of hard bark on you."

A great movie makes you feel something deep inside. You watch it, let it
go, but something keeps drawing you back as if you were watching it for
the first time. All great movies do this, whatever, however it moves you
it just does. Hombre is no exception.

When Paul Newman asks Richard Boone: "How you goiing to get back down that hill?" it's one of the great moments in cinema.
