the administration should invest on infrastractures to welcome new investors! they should know how to make money roll the most profitable way!too much thriftiness wont do anything if it only sleeps stagnantly.we have to investment=investors=jobs for Filipinos. we have to show the world we are developing fast and strongly.what cant show them what they cant see!
sana ginagawa din, hindi panay DRAWING at SALITA lang. nakakahiya pa rin tanggapin na kung anu pa ang kaisa isang INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ng bansa, un pa ang pinaka WORST AIRPORT in the world (take note, in the world ah). mas ok pa ang NAIA 2 and 3 na local at asian flights lang ang kaya.
Yeah but it's too bad we cant just buy the surrounding land (what is there and who lives there anway?) and add a second runway plus instead of just adding a few gimmicks to T1, why dont they just renovate it completely by re configuring the structure in order to add more gates along with improved facilities (not to mention get T3 rolling.) DMIA just seems too far (how long would the drive be?), especially for those just flying domestic.
@carlvincent12 I think NAIA can be the premier domestic airport (like how Haneda in Tokyo is), while DMIA can take in mostly international with some domestic flights (like Narita is just outside of Tokyo). To make DMIA and NAIA work they need to have a high speed rail system like what they have in Hong Kong. Manila is now a city that warrants more than one airport serving the area with ever increasing air traffic.
Not to mention a direct express-toll-way so the majority of the population can bypass the insane Metro Manila traffic. Nevertheless I just hope the new gateway to Philippines will come soon. Heck. I'm still waiting for T3 to be fully operational!
@carlvincent12 I did use T3 not too long ago using Cebu Pacific after arriving from a Continental flight in T1. It's a huge difference between the two terminals and besides the politics I wonder why can't they just shut down T1 and move the intl. ops to T3. I agree they need a direct express-toll-way for the new airport along with the high speed rail. There's a lot more potential in a DMIA being a global gateway hub to the Philippines.
I like the idea, but this would just be a band aid solution and won't solve the real problems of NAIA which is the congestion and limited room for expansion. Philippine authorities must build DMIA to be the premier international gateway hub of the Philippines.
Oh nice design....and don't forget to rehabilitate the employees..not too be rude and money mouth this is makes more worst. There should no touts outside the airport.
OMG.....About time!!! I hope Philippine politicians keep their hands off this project..if they have to, it is only to make sure & facilitate the project proceed without any delay. Big projects like this are opportunities for some people to conduct illegal dealing, so I hope for complete transparency. I hope the government partners with the private sector for this project like 60-40...if not completely privatize this endeavor.
im excited to see the new naia 1 na nilalait. i hope this wil be the start that PHL will shine once again. please help PHL. good luck. I hope the presisdent will appoint a an architect, a good designer that will redesign the whole manila or Philippines as a whole. Make the country like paradise. a lot of gardens and parks. sculptures. Make the country a safe place.
Definitely something to look forward to... I would really love to see this renovation happen sooner rather than when Aquino is about to step down. It's definitely time to see an upgrade to Terminal 1 and move international carriers to Terminal 3 for an ease of airport traffic. Btw, when will the Domestic Terminal be upgraded as well?
Why are the restaurants outside! People will be waiting for the airplanes INSIDE
