... having a cup of tea and you could hear the cups 'clanging' on the recording. I was furious with them lol :). But I got a recording and even took up guitar cos of Lizzy - still playing. I have forgiven you both Mum and Meg xx.
I remember the night this was 1st shown on TV. I was a kid armed with my tape recorder (with the red recording button - remember them?). I couldn't believe my heroes were on the tele, it was VERY rare back then. But my Mum and my brother Eddie's girlfriend at the time (they got married), were ...
I wish I had a time machine, I would go back to this gig over and over again and get some interviews backstage and to and from the gig. These days are gone forever, but lucky we have this at least.
I was at this. Standing at the back of the Stadium beside the Horslips who were signing autographs. One of the great concerts. I remember it well. I was 15 and still in school.
Robbo was around 18 when this was recorded - he always has, and will always be my FAVORITE guitarist. Such a shame he never got the worldwide recognition he deserved...
Just looked at Guitar World top 100 solos. Not one THIN LIZZY. Is it a conspiracy?Emerald,Warrior,Cowboy Song,Massacre,Dont Believe a Word. How many do you want. Theres about 30. Anything off Live and Dangerous.Robbo on this video or the album cut. They stand against any band.ANY!
robbo's solo should be worshiped by all musical types and shops should show new guitar buyers this video to sway their opinion in favour of a les paul...THAT SOUND!!!...My good god! Brian Robertson's lead guitar tone/sound/style will never be replicated.
True, very true. How old was Robbo here -- 17, 18? Damn. Most of his sound is in the head, heart, and hands, but a 'Paul and a non-master volume Marshall sure helped a bit, as well.
"Jonny Cool has a shotgun...the man is in command" Classic lyric from a classic band...kinda makes you wanna get into a knife fight at the local pool hall. I love the bass line to this song - wish you were still here Phil. RIP.
Can't believe I've just seen this! So so rare. So so good, with the classic line up too. What more does aman need! Thanks a lot. They were so special.

You were close! I looked it up, Robbo was born in 56 so he was 19 and Scott was just 24. Amazing playing for such young guys....!!
Rock on!

Great moment near the end- Robbo nails the solo and Phil and Scott know it. As a band, they were about to take off at this stage...
