It is entitled Letter To Eric Holder On Assault Weapons Ban. It reads in part "It is my understanding that the Obama administration continues to state its intention to reinstate that ban. I would strongly encourage you to negate that effort." Your post is a lie.

While all members of AHSA are against gun violence of any kind, I'd ask you to read the article written by Zak Johnson entitled New Jersey, gun rights, and the English language.  His, and AHSA's criticism of NJ's discriminatory handgun ownership practices is pretty clear. You can read the article by clicking gun rights on the tag cloud on the right side of the page. Did you read the letter to Holder about the Assault Weapon ban?

Plainly the AHSA has no interest in advancing the interests of competitive shooters, especially those who regularly compete in practical shooting events. My interest in hunting is vestigial at best.

Plainly AHSA doesn't represent a large segment of gun owners, since I have yet to actually encounter even one of their members at any competition.

I have no problem with Schoenke keeping his ol' Mossberg shotgun. But plainly AHSA has no interest in defending my right to own an AR15.

Their website is so weak on where they actually stand. If I go to the About section is says almost nothing that is substantial. If I go to the NRA website it tells me they have stood for gun ownership and rights since 1871! Who do you believe? A front organization who made it's political debut only a few years ago or a group who has fought to protect the 2nd amendment for over a hundred years?

The 2nd amendment is not about "hunting". Hunting is a "privilage". You don't have a right to hunt. The AHSA is a cover; wolves in sheep's clothing. They want to meld the 2nd amendment with "hunting", allowing them to ban whatever they want, based on the needs of hunters. Therefore, your favorite deer rifle will be deemed a "sniper rifle". "C'mon guys, you can use shotgun slugs or muzzleloaders". The 2nd amendment is a right of self defense. Don't be fooled by this garbage.
