Mine has a low-action (the spacing between the fretboard and the strings), but I dont have bad buzzing problems.
Look up how to go about adjusting the neck/action, or if you aren't comfortable with that, take it into a shop and tell them the action is too low and causing a lot of fret buzz.
I love the shape. It has a little thumb slot in the corner so you don't beat the shit out of your thumb. And they're very unique looking! Best Bass ever!
I think Ibanez Bass guitars are very well made. I own a GSR-200, and I'm very satisfied with it. It is confortable, the strings are very low, no buzzing, and good sound. I can suggest to people that don't like Ibanez basses , don't buy them, go spend your money on something more expensive.
I got mine for 600, but that was quite high (liked the store I bought it from, and wanted to support them). Ive seen them as low as 300-350 lightly used at a guitar center.
dude cool groove, man about the srx series I really wanna buy a 595, but I ve heard that thease basses have problems with the mids. so I dont know, would it be better a schecter or something? thanks
I really dont know what to tell you... My advice is to just try them out in person if possible, Ive found rather cheap basses that were awesome, as well as expensive "Good" ones that I really didnt like.... its all a matter of opinion and taste. I can tell you I DO like my 505 a lot, and its one of the best "lower end" basses ive played
If you cant try them in person, just read as many reviews as you can, only believe things that you see repeatedly.
the lack of a mid knob with the on-board bass EQ might be what the rumors are referring to.
With humbuckers on bass, you're going to naturally get a boost to your mids because of the string range that the pickup poles will be covering (which are large to begin with anyhow). You have a bass and treble boost/cut along with a blend knob to balance between the pickups.
It's not a problem if you have the right strings and a good preamp/bass amp. I wish I hadn't sold my SRX3EX soooo much lol
I occasionally use 3 fingers for triplets and rakes, but usually stick with 2 fingers, not so much a real preference just been needing to practice with 3 more.
It is a nice bass, tried it a couple of times :D I owned the littlebrother 305 a year ago, but this has a little more sound in it, so.. stay away from 305, just my opinion .

I have an SRX. They are very good. The pickups could be a little better though, they're weird-shaped.

the SR700s are probably the best bass you can buy for 700 bucks. they are pure class, just amazing basses. easily comparable to any 1.5k+ bass

It is good to build on fingerstyle on top of slap.
I too got too much into slapping and neglected fingers.
When used together it's awesome.
Try 3 fingers also for fast runs and just plain and simple economy.
