  • making this again Dave ~drools~

  • Just like shrimp on tha barbie!!

  • use vegetable soup mix

  • love it!!

  • You are super cute! Thanks for the video. I was looking for some info on frozen spinach and this helped.

  • lol 0:04 " yesterday im going to show you???"

  • @abeshektheboss "Yes, today..."

  • @abeshektheboss i think because it is being recorded long time ago

  • @abeshektheboss He said he was going retro. :)

  • i make something quite a bit similar but instead i use a fresh pumpernickel loaf, and its always a hit at parties, people love it, and i usually make the dip a day ahead so its nice and smooth, always enjoy your recipes!!

  • You're such a delight to watch! Just so personable and friendly. ^.^

  • I don't know if anyone has given this, but in the USA our version is the Knorr Spinach Dip. Veggie soup mix, not onion, mayo, sour cream, spinach, water chestnuts & green onions. I make it every Thanksgiving for myself! INGREDIENTS

1 pck (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach, squeezed dry

    1 (16 oz.) sour cream

    1 cup Mayonnaise

1 pck Knorr® Vegetable recipe mix

1 can (8 oz.) water chestnuts, drained and chopped

    3 green onions, chopped

  • @giddymoon This is how we make it in Canada as well (minus the chestnuts and green onions) *wink*

  • What can i substitute the french onion soup with? I dont like the oniony taste. Thanks!

  • @cindy2508 Use any powdered soup you like. Tomato would be good ;)

  • Great recipe David, BUT, less that a dollar for a packet of frozen spinach!!!!! Geez, the exact same packets of spinach are $2.29 each at my local IGA here in Charlton, Victoria. One of the not so good things about living in a small town almost in the middle of no where.

I suppose I could substitute the Spinach with Silverbeet out of my garden. :)

  • i'm catoring my cousins baby shower next week and i wanted to serve something different as an entre...i've been stressing all week cuz honestly nothing was grabbing my attention and didn't know what to serve...well look no more, i found what i was craving for :-) awesome idea and so easy to do...thank you so much!!!!

  • I don't have an inkling how it tastes but it looks like one good dish (and a subject of conversation too) for a great party!

  • your the cutist thing ever !!!! and your food is realy east to do

  • great video!

  • dude you mastered time travel congrats how did you get the plutonium??

  • 2 questions :

do I cook the frozen spinach 1st / is it already cooked?

can I substitute the ricotta cheese as I can hardly found one..

    thanks :)

  • @nthnybl No need to cook the frozen spinach first - just defrost it. You can use Philadelphia-style cream cheese instead of the ricotta if you like ;)

  • Gotta love this!!! Who cares what the food snobs think. Also it's amazing how versatile a packet of French Onion Soup is. Main one for me is the thickening agent in Apricot Chicken. Also whip it into some cream cheese for an easy French Onion Dip

Have often had this at a party I’ve been too with a Corn and Bacon dip as well.

    Great Stuff.

  • I love that you're an Aussie chef on YouTube because I see the brand and know that it's not only available here in Aus but what exact brand to hone in on.. :D

  • hey Dave, is it bad to eat tuna with honey in a sandwich? Also I heard its not good to mix milk with tuna, funny thing is I do that once in a while lol please Let me know :)

  • @ajhersi2 As long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters ;)

  • Yum! Food snobs be damned - that looks delicious!

  • I just want to let you know I think you're great at what you do. I'm excited to try this!!!

  • "...yesterday I'm going to be showing you..." What the heck?

  • @wakawakasplat As I've explained below - I said "Yes, today..."

  • @OnePotChefShow ohhhhh... (self fail)

  • Can you put soup in it!! :D xD

  • @ProSkilllz Yes, you can :)

  • @alannawardan I never noticed that! I bought two packets of ricotta, one regular and one low fat. I must have picked up the wrong one when I filmed the video. Well spotted!

  • wondering if you could heat the dip up first????? and toast those pieces of bread. Ummmmm my tummy started making noise.

  • @tibironke The dip can be served warm or cold - I prefer it cold, especially in summer :)

  • Spinach, not going near it

  • @AddictiveBreedNICK Eat it - You'll grow up big and strong like Popeye ;)

  • @AddictiveBreedNICK This tastes nothing like plain spinach

  • can i use sourdough bread???

  • @heelrunner Sure - you can use any loaf with a thick crust ;)

  • I made this for bake club, i also used out the hollow bits of bread to dip, but i also served with celery and carrots that were chopped into sticks as well.

  • @MissArianrhod Is "Bake Club" like "Fight Club"? Will you get into trouble for talking about it with outsiders lol

I'm glad you enjoyed this recipe - and I like the addition of celery and carrot stick - great stuff!!

  • @pocketbikefreak666 It will be a big hit at your party ;)

  • David, if I use natural spinaches do I boil them or I leave them raw?

  • @glassanddiaphane If you want to use fresh spinach, I recommend blanching them in boiling water until they wilt, then drain them, chop them and squeeze them to get rid of the excess liquid. Hope this helps ;)

  • I've been craving this for weeks. Watching this was torture. Sweet, sweet torture.

  • I love this recipe. Can't eat white bread but Ive done this with a wholemeal cob loaf and it still tastes just as good.

  • @MegsVlogs Any cob loaf will work well with this recipe - thanks for watching Megs ;)

  • You're killing me here! I love all your videos & recipes. Here is my problem...I always watch them after my workouts and when I am starving. Ugh! I'm always left with looking through my cupboards and being utterly disappointed .

  • @RunningKicksButt Warning: my videos are hazardous to your health - especially if you've just been exercising! :)

  • Are you cooking the spinach or are you using it fresh out of the package?

  • @reborn2603 No need to cook the spinach - just defrost the packs and squeeze out the excess liquid ;)

  • Hmm, this seems delicious too... but I'm saving this one for another day.

I'm making your cheese bacon twists now! : )

  • @Badzeep I watched your video of the Cheese and Bacon Twists - they look lovely :)

  • OMG, this is my favorite of all time. I love this kind of food. :O

  • @baddogonline I love it too - simple and fun :)

  • Ahh, various family members of mine make this at gatherings and I always go crazy over it! Thank you, I didn't have the recipe, I'm going to have to make this soon.

  • @xbenderx I hope you have fun making this recipe - thanks for watching :)

  • This looks sooo yummy. It made me so hungry that I ate my lunch after watching this...its 7am. :)

  • nom nom nom! I love cob loaf dips :) My friend makes an awesome corn one.

  • @emmer84 I have a friend who makes a corn dip cob loaf too - she refuses to give me the recipe!!! :P

  • im sorry, but..are you gay?...

  • @Maiyu124 Not really a relevant question to ask someone. But I guess you are refrencing his happy personality, but it's always great to see someone happy about food and what he loves to do which is cook and showing others how to and giving recipes.

  • @Maiyu124 If I'm not gay, I've got a lot of phone calls to make... :)

  • @OnePotChefShow Lol. xP

  • looks good mate i will have to try it some time

  • @Mraussieadventurer Give it a go - you'll love it :)

  • I've always loved Spinach Dip.

P.S. There might not be a flavour difference but you can tell the mixture isn't as thick...I think its better. :)

    Low-fat ftw

  • @MistressCheii The mixture will also get thick if you chill it in the fridge for an hour or so before transferring it into the bread bowl. I didn't bother as I was on a tight schedule that day, and I don't mind it being a little softer :)

  • as always delicious and easy.

  • @purewic Thanks - glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Oh my goodness this is my fav dip of allll time :D nicely done !!

  • @LuvNatoxox Thanks - I hope you enjoy making it :)

  • i like ur channel, on the other hand, i'm also a big fan of Jamie Oliver's food revolution. I totally agree w/ his concept about healthy eating as obesity cases is getting higher and higher nowadays, he's aim to save people's save... would love to see some healthy eating recipes too :)

  • @katy6543210 "he's aim to save people's save" Oo?

  • @CanadianB0B ooops, it's typo :)) obviously i can't type as fast as my thoughts... should be 'he's aim is to save people's lives' :)

  • @katy6543210 This recipe isn't so bad, I use low fat alternatives, lots of vegetable content, and wholemeal bread. Healthy food is great, but in my experience, people don't really want to watch it on YouTube. I have to play to the market. That being said, I sneak in the odd healthy video here and there ;)

  • Liking the new camera angle! ;)

  • @TheHappyChap101 Thanks - I'm loving my new kitchen workbench - it's making filming a whole lot easier :)

  • does this have a sort of cheesy taste to it ? i think this is what i have had at a party and it was really yummy and i couldnt get the recipe ty david

  • @sooouuuuper It has a slightly cheesy flavor. It tastes a lot like french onion dip but with a nice spinach flavor mixed in too :)

  • @OnePotChefShow ty david ur recipes are always yummy ty

  • My dad makes this and he puts water chestnuts in it and it is SOOOO good and instead of onion soup he uses a spring veggie mix that we have in america.
