Interesting video. I've never personally done any XNA stuff, but I've done a few small games in C & SDL, and now I'm in progress of making a small game engine in C and SDL/OpenGL.
I wouldn't exactly say that C# is a cross between Java and C.. I see it more like Java aimed for Microsoft's platforms with some bells and whistles added.. But that's just my personal view on the matter, of course. :)
It's an ATI Radeon Sapphire X1650 Pro. It had outputs for a dual-monitor setup and was really inexpensive.
Whenever possible, I like to do game development work on cheap hardware so that the minimum requirements of using the games is pretty easy for most people to reach.
