@maserati48 well i dont drive a TB/ss either, and i think the ls is a shit engine. however i do drive a jeep srt8, and everyone has different tastes and needs. the jeep offers awd, more room, and everything else i can think of. and it also has the 6.1 hemi with 425hp. which stomps a tb/ss. i love it. i used to own a 2003 lancer evo with quite a bit more under the hood than the jeep and id take the jeep anyday of the week.
A buddy of mine has a jeep srt8 and the thing fly's for an suv, so I do give it big props for what it can do. I guess what I'm trying to say is comparing a tt inline 6 coupe with a massive v8 suv is far from a close comparison, or a fair one at that. Now if you really want to compare them fairly along with that straight line aspect of it...track them. I don't have a problem with this comparison either. The more unusual it is, the more controversy which leads to great interest.

Something's fishy here... a stock 335i rates .083 hp/lb, and a 440 whp TB is more like ~ 500 crank hp, which rates .085 hp/lb.
Based off the above power-to-weight ratios this race should have been neck & neck...the 335i driver was a partial effort. Also, on an open, endless highway, the BMW would smoke the TB above 120 mph...the aerodynamics & chassis setup of a TB sucks.
Take the ricer math elsewhere. For more comparison, the TBSS has been 7.8@89.xx in the 1/8 mile, the 335I has been 8.54@83.xx. Pretty big gap to overcome. The race was from a 20 roll, still in first gear so it's similar to running from a dig, especially with the TBSS's converter working really well from 20. Oh & by the time that TBSS is doing 120, the 335I will be a faded memory. Welcome to racing, NOOB
Sure, post 1/8m stats, stack the deck, 6.0L of torque vs. 3.0. TBSS lags with drag coeff. ~ .40 range, 335i @ .30...big advantage when nearing & defining top end capability. Top end for sim. concept trucks like the Ford Lightening @ ~ 135 mph. Even if the way heavy TBSS could better that (drag is a square function of speed), it would be slight as it would lag greatly behind a stock 335IS's 177 mph. Your teacher called & wants to you retake your physics class.
You are a tard bucket, by the time that 335I gets anywhere near top speed, the race is long over. The TBSS ran to 115-120 in the video and you see how far back the 335I already was. Absolute top speed means jack sh!t

A stock 300 hp, 335i is good for 0-60 in 4.8. Even if a truck/SUV could outrun the BMW from a dig, the Beemer would eventually catch & pass it...it's chassis setup & drag coefficient is far superior to a modded Trailblazer...the 335i's top end has to be close to 160 mph, if not higher.
First of all, WHO CARES ABOUT ABSOLUTE TOP SPEED in vehicles like these. Second, that TBSS would be so far ahead at top speed, that by the time the 335I topped out, he would STILL be behind the TBSS for a ways, even if going faster. That TBSS has went 140ish with boltons, has more usable rpms and 100 RWHP more now.
How one chooses to race is an arbitrary choice, top speed is just as significant as 0 to whatever... Anyone can bolt anything onto anything & make it fast...note the beemer would still be faster in its stock config. There are Civics that run the quarter in the 10s...big deal. Yet a stock 335i is the 'total package', it'll smoke the TB in top end & bury it once the two vehicles go into/come out of a corner. TB's are great for soccer moms w. groceries wherease Beemers are the 'driving machines.

Dear guy with the "Dinan tune and the bigger turbos," you are a flaming idiot if you don't think everyone with modded 335s doesn't know of the few (as in less than 10) cars in this country running bigger turbos. Not sure what happend, but Ive driven both cars (and both are GREAT!) but I felt that the 335i was much faster and much more of a comfortable ride, I think (and this is just me) the 335i didnt get off well enough.

Not trying to rag, but: throw money at cars and you can make a Civic as fast as a Corvette (exaggeration but you know what I'm getting at, I hope), so BMW or Porsche or whatever you want, it comes down to money. The Trailblazer won fair and square. Stock vs stock, sure, the 335i would win - but it wasn't a stock race, so cry about it, you whiners (and this is coming from a BMW fanboy, if you're curious).

if that bmw 335i was really a bi turbo it should have easily been able to take out the ss. i have a 335i tuned with a dinan chip, bigger turbo, evo intake, eisenman exhaust, m aerodynamics front lip, hks blow off valve, boosted, dyno tuned and bbs rims. i could have took out that ss easy. i pull on z06's nasty. if u know how to drive and tune them BMWS ARE THE SHIT!! Are you SERIOUS? Please tell me the education system is not in this bad of shape. DID YOU NOT READ THE MODS on the TBSS? It makes 440 rear wheel horsepower, it would DESTROY a stock TBSS or Jeep SRT8, it makes 100 more hp than a stock one. Also, there isnt THAT much to driving a 335I, considering the owner knows how to brake boost, I would say that puts him ahead of the curve on most 335I owners.

Something's fishy here... a stock 335i rates .083 hp/lb, and a 440 whp TB is more like ~ 500 crank hp, which rates .085 hp/lb.
Based off the above power-to-weight ratios this race should have been neck & neck...the 335i driver was a partial effort. Also, on an open, endless highway, the BMW would smoke the TB above 120 mph...the aerodynamics & chassis setup of a TB sucks.

Take the ricer math elsewhere. For more comparison, the TBSS has been 7.8@89.xx in the 1/8 mile, the 335I has been 8.54@83.xx. Pretty big gap to overcome. The race was from a 20 roll, still in first gear so it's similar to running from a dig, especially with the TBSS's converter working really well from 20. Oh & by the time that TBSS is doing 120, the 335I will be a faded memory. Welcome to racing, NOOB

Sure, post 1/8m stats, stack the deck, 6.0L of torque vs. 3.0. TBSS lags with drag coeff. ~ .40 range, 335i @ .30...big advantage when nearing & defining top end capability. Top end for sim. concept trucks like the Ford Lightening @ ~ 135 mph. Even if the way heavy TBSS could better that (drag is a square function of speed), it would be slight as it would lag greatly behind a stock 335IS's 177 mph. Your teacher called & wants to you retake your physics class.

A stock 300 hp, 335i is good for 0-60 in 4.8. Even if a truck/SUV could outrun the BMW from a dig, the Beemer would eventually catch & pass it...it's chassis setup & drag coefficient is far superior to a modded Trailblazer...the 335i's top end has to be close to 160 mph, if not higher.

First of all, WHO CARES ABOUT ABSOLUTE TOP SPEED in vehicles like these. Second, that TBSS would be so far ahead at top speed, that by the time the 335I topped out, he would STILL be behind the TBSS for a ways, even if going faster. That TBSS has went 140ish with boltons, has more usable rpms and 100 RWHP more now.

How one chooses to race is an arbitrary choice, top speed is just as significant as 0 to whatever... Anyone can bolt anything onto anything & make it fast...note the beemer would still be faster in its stock config. There are Civics that run the quarter in the 10s...big deal. Yet a stock 335i is the 'total package', it'll smoke the TB in top end & bury it once the two vehicles go into/come out of a corner. TB's are great for soccer moms w. groceries wherease Beemers are the 'driving machines.
