and yes it did take a little while after ruth was traded but not 50 years. i believe it was 1946 when they returned to the world series scene. but people forget the 4 that they won in one century (1912, '15, '16, '18). and sure it took them 86 years to get another one, but hey, there is still two more years to tie that 4 in one century.
