i like this movie but i actually wouldn't mind a remake of Goldeneye. i think 006 should have more screen time and the relationship between 006 and 007 should be explored
@fuzzyfoot88 sorry 2 say bt after casino royale i had lot of expectations frm qos bt was disappointed seeing it... Hope so skyfall doesn't disappoint me.. Yesterday i saw licence to kill and the living daylights... I laughed on albert r broc for choosing tim as bond. Worst bond ever and worst bond mvi licence to kill
till now i hv seen 10 bond movies. 2 of craig, 4 of brosnan, 2 of moore and 2 of connery. Best acc 2 me r casino royale(craig), and goldeneye(brosnan). Worst were quantum of solace and a view to kill
@mayank21993 You haven't seen enough Bond films to consider QOS bad. Watch Moonraker...the epitome of bad Bond filmmaking. QOS is far superior to that turd basket.
@Fuzzyfoot88 I agree. I didn't really dig QOS, but it did beat Moonraker by a landslide. I was completely closed off to the idea of a new Bond when Craig came along; I wouldn't accept it, but a friend of mine took me to go see Casino Royale and so far I don't think he's too bad at all. Still miss Pierce, though. Shame.
@Fuzzyfoot88 QOS was a bad Bond movie but still a good action movie and entertaining action sequences. Just felt more like a typical cool action script than a Bond movie
Quantum of solace is okay i cant say it ruind craig i mean have you saw Cowboys & Aliens its farely an okay movie but back to bond i think youve got it all correct except the craig bit but my best james bond film has to be Golden Eye or Diamonds are forever.
I remember when this came out & then it was one of the first movies released on DVD's. My father use to be in the home entertainment business when everyone was scare to set those things up themselves.... LOL he would always carry a dvd copy of goldeneye so he could test the Dolby sound lol I loved the look on the customers faces after watch a few scenes. Hands down one of the best movies of the 90's probably top 5 of 1995. Even though that was the yr of "Toy Story, Die Hard Veng, Jumanji"...wow
God I miss those little "flickers" from old trailers. You can really see them between :19 and :41 on the white background. Those little flickers are so much nostalgia. By the way, Goldeneye was the first movie I ever saw in theaters with my dad when I was about 5 or 6. I still remember it fondly.
Yeah, Dalton. Seriously though, I do enjoy Brosnan in this film (He's like a modernised Connery) but if it wasn't for that legal issue after 'Licence to Kill' this would have been Dalton's third outing. It's the darkest of the Brosnan era and feels a lot like a Dalton film.
Bring back Pierce Brosnan. The Brosnan Bond era was my childhood. Watching the film, and staying up late for hours playing the video game on the N64 with my cousins, good times.
@HypocriteSkeleton3 its hella funny. i always loved Pierce cuz he looked abit like my grandfather, and tht was his fav. bond. also: i remember flipping thru the tv at age 5 and saw the dam. i was like" look! its the game uncle plays!1". we all watched the movie in wide-eyed silence. only to talk wen it was commercial
@BadWolf117Returns Now come on, Quantum of Solace wasn't that bad, and it certainly didn't RUIN Craig. Diamonds are Forever was AWFUL, and it didn't ruin Connery, did it? I think Skyfall will be a lot better for Daniel Craig now that the stupid Quantum organization is out of the way.
@iknownothing34 QOS= Bad Editing, another way to die- worst bond song since madoona, the villian was a french pansy, bond was humourless and the story is a mess- they want oil? wait they want to control water so they get a bit of extra money on peoples water bills? DAF was not connery's best but he did do NSNA which was ok if cheesy and Skyfall looks promising now that its got a new composer..
@BadWolf117Returns it didnt ruin him...Craig is still a GREAT bond. he was just in a bad movie. Like some of connery movies werent that great but his bond persona was well acted
First Bond film I saw in the cinema, my dad took me when I was 12. Since then, we always go to see Bond film's together. This was Brosnan's best. Dalton looks the most Bond though
Just one line of dialogue from our new Bond and the rest is some of the best editing and music that go together like bread and butter. Trailer edititor today could learn a thing or two from Goldeneye. They don't need to cut to black or have dramatic voice overs. You just can't go wrong with Goldeneye ;)
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which is electronic music inspired by great games such as Goldeneye 007. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
i loved Connery and Moore, but Brosnan was also great imo, didnt care for his last Bond movie, but the first three (Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is not Enough) were really damn good imo....tbh only Bond i didnt care for much was the guy they had for most of the 80's
@spartanses Brosnan was the Bond I grew up with (in the sense that I am a 80's/90's child and Brosnan was the first Bond I saw in cinemas), but no-one can top Sean Connery was Bond. He will forever be the best.
In fact, in Brosnans last film, Die Another Day, there was going to be a cameo at the end of the film with Sean with him saying "So, you are the idiot whos been pretending to be me" but the bosses said no. Which is a shame as it would have confirmed a long held fan theory.
@conrod15reveiw Oh I see, but can you remake an original? I don't think a remake is neccesary. It was Pierce's film. Suppose all anticiaption is on this next film with Daniel craig, James bond 23? or something.
@dhutchinson86 Wow, I'm insulted. Please save me from a troll who probably enjoys jacking off to anime and claims who is a know it all when really it's a shut in who's got nothing better to do. F-U-C-K O-F-F.
The best Bond film in my eyes. Looking at it now it is the perfect blend of the old and the new. It takes itself seriously enough to not look out of place with Casino Royale and yet there's something very familiar about it that harps back to the Connery era. The classic Aston Martin, the familiar threat of the Russians (left over from the cold war). And wrapped up in all of that is a story of hurt and betrayal between too old comrades Alec Trevelyan and James Bond. Sublime.
Very good movie, but the worst Bond score ever! Except Tina Turner's theme song, which is one of the best in the series. They should have used the music of this trailer, not Éric Serra's rubbish in my opinion...
Some trailers for Goldeneye give away that 006 is the bad guy....I think thats the biggest mistake since Diamonds Are For Ever (do to sean's lack of enthusiam and youth and that red head chick whose name I dont bother to remember)
Brosnan was the best Bond ever, Connery and Moore films are outdated and boring to watch, Living Day Lights is still watchable today, but License to Kill is kinda lame, I wont even mention Lazemby, and Daniel Craig sucks as Bond, Casino Royal! please i didnt expect he would be playing texas holdem for half the film,
i love this trailer. its PERFECT. not only is it very indicative of the final product (which is brilliant), but it doesn't give away too much! so many trailers fall into the trap of showing too much of the film just to make it seem interesting.
The remake isn't Goldeneye anymore? The remake of the game is probably truer to the actual plot of the movie then the original is. The N64 game had tons of filler missions, some don't exist in the movie like the caverns and others don't even involve bond in the film like the bunkers. Another funny thing is by the time that Goldeneye 64 was Tomorrow Never dies was coming out.
@frustratedgamerguy timothy dalton?! can we even consider him a bond? he cried in one of the films. bond does not cry or get teary eyed. Bond isn't all loving and caring like timothy dalton played him.,
Goldeneye was spot on. When Goldeneye came out, there had been a 6 year gap since the previous film, they couldn't have possibly given the series a better return.
@OliverBond96 couldn't agree with you more, i was 10 in 95, i think the film came out in late November and i'll always remember going to the theater with my dad and being completely knocked off my ass for lack of a better term.
What's really disappointing is that Brosnan went the way of Roger Moore a bit. Roger was great in Live and Let Die and Golden Gun and Brosnan was great in Goldeneye, but after that the scripts were simply awful. Bond has always been about a vicarious suspension of disbelief, but Brosnan managed to take it a step too far. You can have fantastic action sequences without turning Bond into some kind of supernatural superhero. Thank God for Daniel Craig.
Brosnan caught the Roger Moore bug. He played the role so many times he could do it in his sleep - and judging from some of the movies he did, did do it in his sleep. Goldeneye left me believing in Brosnan's promise as Bond, but beginning with Tomorrow Never Dies, it was all downhill. Scripts got worse and worse, and Brosnan started to look more and more like Moore in A View to a Kill - like an old man who made you REALLY suspend your disbelief. Craig at least looks believable. Sorry, ladies.
@surfer53 They didn't use Brosnan well. As is evident from Remington Stelle, and other of his movies such as the Thomas Crown Affair, he's a terrific actor, looks more like the real Bond than many of the actors who have played him, especially Daniel Craig, who doesn't look like Bond at all, and yet you watch every post-GoldenEye pre-Craig film and you can just realise that he had an acting range that wasn't fully tapped into.
@MrLunitunz True. Both he and Roger Moore because largely cartoon characters by the end of their run, and I know a lot of Bond film buffs like that, but my interest in the film series coincided with a thorough read of the Ian Fleming novels. That's why I loved Goldeneye, all the Connery stuff, Live and Let Die, Living Daylights and both Daniel Craig movies, more or less. Quantum wasn't all I'd hoped, but it was the movie it needed to be. A revenge film. Brosnan was always a pretty boy.
@MrLunitunz Actually Daniel Craig is pretty close to Ian Fleming's conception of Bond.
Bond was supposed to be an ordinary ornithologist with fairly neutral looks, but Fleming was impressed by Sean Connery's sex appeal and it went from there.
@Laurelindo Bond wasn't an ornithologist. He was named for the ornithologist.
Bond is described as being around 183cm, black hair that falls with a comma over his right eyebrow, cold blue eyes, scar on his face and shoulder. With the exception of the scar on the face, Brosnan, when he did GoldenEye and when he did Remington Steele even earlier, fitted that description perfectly.
@MrLunitunz Totally on the money. Anyone who's read the books can corroborate the fact that Brosnan--of all the actors to potray the character--fits Fleming's description of the character best.
@MrLunitunz Totally on the money. Anyone who's read the books can attest to the fact that of all the actors who've potrayed Bond, Brosnan resembles Fleming's physical description of the character best.
i like this movie but i actually wouldn't mind a remake of Goldeneye. i think 006 should have more screen time and the relationship between 006 and 007 should be explored

A+

First bond movie i ever saw, and I'm glad i started it off that way ♥

The remake isn't Goldeneye anymore? The remake of the game is probably truer to the actual plot of the movie then the original is. The N64 game had tons of filler missions, some don't exist in the movie like the caverns and others don't even involve bond in the film like the bunkers. Another funny thing is by the time that Goldeneye 64 was Tomorrow Never dies was coming out.

1 Sean Connery
2 Timothy Dalton
3 Pierce Brosnan

@frustratedgamerguy timothy dalton?! can we even consider him a bond? he cried in one of the films. bond does not cry or get teary eyed. Bond isn't all loving and caring like timothy dalton played him.,

An amazing trailer for an amazing film.

The Wii version wasn't the disgusting peice of crap I expected but it was still nowhere near as good as the N64 game and the movie.

Best Bond Film I can't believe how underrated it is
Samuel24842 1 year ago
What's really disappointing is that Brosnan went the way of Roger Moore a bit. Roger was great in Live and Let Die and Golden Gun and Brosnan was great in Goldeneye, but after that the scripts were simply awful. Bond has always been about a vicarious suspension of disbelief, but Brosnan managed to take it a step too far. You can have fantastic action sequences without turning Bond into some kind of supernatural superhero. Thank God for Daniel Craig.

I think he was the most handsome looking Bond, especially in that black suit (when he jumped off the cliff)
madeinamsterdam2028 1 year ago
Brosnan caught the Roger Moore bug. He played the role so many times he could do it in his sleep - and judging from some of the movies he did, did do it in his sleep. Goldeneye left me believing in Brosnan's promise as Bond, but beginning with Tomorrow Never Dies, it was all downhill. Scripts got worse and worse, and Brosnan started to look more and more like Moore in A View to a Kill - like an old man who made you REALLY suspend your disbelief. Craig at least looks believable. Sorry, ladies.
surfer53 1 year ago
@surfer53 They didn't use Brosnan well. As is evident from Remington Stelle, and other of his movies such as the Thomas Crown Affair, he's a terrific actor, looks more like the real Bond than many of the actors who have played him, especially Daniel Craig, who doesn't look like Bond at all, and yet you watch every post-GoldenEye pre-Craig film and you can just realise that he had an acting range that wasn't fully tapped into.
MrLunitunz 1 year ago
@MrLunitunz True. Both he and Roger Moore because largely cartoon characters by the end of their run, and I know a lot of Bond film buffs like that, but my interest in the film series coincided with a thorough read of the Ian Fleming novels. That's why I loved Goldeneye, all the Connery stuff, Live and Let Die, Living Daylights and both Daniel Craig movies, more or less. Quantum wasn't all I'd hoped, but it was the movie it needed to be. A revenge film. Brosnan was always a pretty boy.
surfer53 1 year ago
@surfer53 For Bond to bed as many women as he does, he'd have to be a pretty boy.
MrLunitunz 1 year ago
@MrLunitunz Actually Daniel Craig is pretty close to Ian Fleming's conception of Bond.
Bond was supposed to be an ordinary ornithologist with fairly neutral looks, but Fleming was impressed by Sean Connery's sex appeal and it went from there.
Laurelindo 1 year ago
@Laurelindo Bond wasn't an ornithologist. He was named for the ornithologist.
Bond is described as being around 183cm, black hair that falls with a comma over his right eyebrow, cold blue eyes, scar on his face and shoulder. With the exception of the scar on the face, Brosnan, when he did GoldenEye and when he did Remington Steele even earlier, fitted that description perfectly.
MrLunitunz 1 year ago 16
@MrLunitunz Totally on the money. Anyone who's read the books can corroborate the fact that Brosnan--of all the actors to potray the character--fits Fleming's description of the character best.

@MrLunitunz Totally on the money. Anyone who's read the books can attest to the fact that of all the actors who've potrayed Bond, Brosnan resembles Fleming's physical description of the character best.
