@Becamble Actually I tried this again. Amy slows down if she is ahead of you and you don't have a spin top. I guess it's so you have a chance to go back and grab a new one if you accidentally jump off or something. If I waited here whilst I still had the spin top Amy wouldn't go into ultra slow mode and would've kept going.

Knuckles however is always that slow regardless I don't know what his deal is.
