I read a comment once it said Johnny cash was in his own genre of music and I believe it, I mean just listen to Glen Campbell clearly country but Johnny Cash never sounded like anyone else.
Glen was and is one of the greatest guitar players in the world. His Twelve-String guitar album (around 1969) is just awesome. He and Johnny are great together in this song.
johnny is just amazing in all ways always

Glen Campbell alway sounded like he was straining his guts out to sing. To me, anyway.
