I asked me a lot of time what can happen when you are alone in the forerst without weapons and one wild boar injures you maybe he eat you what do you think ?
@jspin1103 If a Mama sow is taken with piglets alongside her,the babies will starve to death. That's not exactly sporting. If the sow doesn't have piglets with her,go ahead & take the shot if you want.
proof to all you wildlife do gooders that us hunters actually care about the animals too.. notice they just didnt gut the baby pig like im sure youd imagine they would have... Hunters have been stereotyped but dont believe all the BS see for yourself
I'm sure it's different for everyone, but for me, I don't think that part will ever go away. My great grandmother was full a blooded Cherokee indian, and because of that I have great respect for the animal. I'm not a trophy hunter, but I'm not against those who are. I just like knowing that the animal I harvest will feed my family and in this way I show honor and respect to the animal, and thank him for his life.
@LivingtheWildlife My folks didn't hunt & as a kid,I rarely got to go with my Uncle and cousins who do hunt.I go a lot more now but it's usually a case of got the money but little time to go or have the time but no money to go hunting.
One of the things on my list to do when i can afford it is to try hog hunting.
@doughesson I understand Doug. The economy stinks right now, and about the only thing a guy can do for free is hog hunt. Especially in Texas, where they're just over-run with em.
@seaweaver1 In Tennnessee & Kentucky,if a hog isn't penned up,it's considered to be wild & therefore fair game.In both states,it's illegal to drop hogs off in the woods so you'll have them to hunt. They reproduce too quickly & devastate too much farmland to be anything BUT nuisances.
First off, I don't like being that close to wild boars with tusks. I could have literally have stepped on the snort of that 500 pounder without knowing. The only thing I could say is, it sure would have made good footage.... but, I'll pass
No kidding :-) I'd never experienced anything like this before. When they told us they thought hogs were in this hay I didn't believe them because it didn't even look like there was really any hay to speak of. When we got to the hay we were ready to leave, when the farmer motioned for us to step on the hay. I thought the guy was crazy till the first hop popped out. That blew my mind..
Danny that was pretty cool I must say. Looks like ya'll had a lot of fun. That must have been one exciting adventure. Thanks for sharing!!! Keep 'em coming.
Well...I hope you have a lot of great footage to work with. You can always send me a message to say "what's up" if you get outright needy!!! lol
I can't wait to see more of your show on the Pursuit channel. I should have a few more hog hunting vids up before too long! I posted a few clips the other day from this weekend.

Why didn't you bag mama and the piglets too? Aren't hogs an over run destructive nuisance there like they seem to be everywhere else?

This was awesome, you think you can show a video of yourselves hunting with recurves?
SabataZX101 2 years ago
I wish I had a recurve. Thanks for the comment.
LivingtheWildlife 2 years ago
No problem, I have a question though, have you ever felt sorry for your kill, or is that just some phase that you get over eventually?

Wonderful, thanks for your response, you also have an interesting heritage you have going on there, were you taught as a child to hunt?
SabataZX101 2 years ago
No, not taught by anyone. I lived next to a large wooded area, and just spent most of my time there.

@LivingtheWildlife
Ah much like myself, however I only have one day of training haha.

i often feel bad, but i know that i tried to make it suffer as little as possible if at all, and that i will put it to good use.

Hampshire domestic pig.
No big thing.
Not a flat head piney wood rooter. Look a the domestic hook in the snout. Look at it stand there...waiting for an apple.
Highly excitable fellas though...
