It is possible I own both systems and guess what go into any store and pick up a copy of Mafia 2 or Red Dead on both systems an look at the back of the cases. You will notice the 360 versions are 1080p while the PS3 versions are 720p. This is the case with a lot of the multi platform releases. This is why most who own both systems buy these releases on 360. Well that and Live. However the PS3 exclusives are a tad bit better graphic wise. Both systems are great and own wii.
1. I use my Xbox 360 VGA adapter for my monitor and play games at 1440 x 900 which is like 720p. My games look great in HD, and my monitor doesn't support higher resolutions anyway.
2. I sold my PS3. Why? It has no games. I'm not a fanboy, I just buy whatever console has the best games. Ps3 basically only has cross platform games and metal gear solid, which i played and beat before i got rid of my ps3. You're gonna have to do more than that to get me to come back to ps3.

I have a PS3 right infront of me. Yesterday I played some Resistance 2 and other games. I can't honestly say I enjoyed any of them except for the new Tomb Raider game which is out for both consoles.
@kalols2 The graphics overall seemed to me very blurry and the HD wasn't anywhere near as good as Xbox 360. I also played some Gears of War and Halo Reach on my Xbox and I saw noticeable difference. Just face it, the X360's games in native 720p is even better than the PS3's 1080p games. Also, the controllers are bad.

I've played alot of ps3 last week and all I can say is; wow. when you download a demo or something it takes forever to download and gets interrupted and shit even with wired connection, and when you're done you have to INSTALL the game which takes AGES. With Xbox 360 you download>play>????>profit

And finally, the terms "dedicated" and "shared" are just marketing gimmicks. Despite sharing the memory between the CPU and GPU, Xbox 360's RAM has the exact same bandwidth as PS3's VRAM (22.4 GB/s), which means the memory performance is the same. That is not a disadvantage for Xbox 360 at all.

I dont play in HD at all and own a ps3, (480i or 480p, what ever standard tv definition is what I have) however, I have noticed, just looking at some xbox 360 games that my friend has, who also plays in standard definition, that my ps3 counterparts are much more sharp and colourful, so the 1080i also helps on other definitions. (BTW we have the same TV's! and set them to the same brightness,contrast, ect)

The sad truth is most game on both console run games at 720p and are upscale to 1080p, so it doesn't matter whether or not ps3 can run games in 1080p. But gives the 360 an edge over the ps3 in mutiplats is its GPU and ease of development. The Xenos has 10mb eDRAM that allows for free 4x MSAA without affecting the proformance and AA is very important for games running at 720p since jags are are more noticeable on lower resolutions.

Every 'Console Generation' there comes a PC title that basically blows the console games off the water graphically, and despite console games coming out years later, it just can't surpass them until next gen. Any one remember Half Life 2, Doom 3 and Far Cry last gen? So far this gen its just Crysis. Just 1 game. I'm sure there'll be a Crysis 2, Doom 4 or so this gen. Ok, ok last comment: Killzone 2 is the best looking console game in existence, you're correct. But it still isn't up to Crysis. Games are getting closer, and Crysis will be passed eventually, but not yet.
Obviously this is up for debate, but I own both, so the answer seems pretty clear.

It is possible I own both systems and guess what go into any store and pick up a copy of Mafia 2 or Red Dead on both systems an look at the back of the cases. You will notice the 360 versions are 1080p while the PS3 versions are 720p. This is the case with a lot of the multi platform releases. This is why most who own both systems buy these releases on 360. Well that and Live. However the PS3 exclusives are a tad bit better graphic wise. Both systems are great and own wii.

1. I use my Xbox 360 VGA adapter for my monitor and play games at 1440 x 900 which is like 720p. My games look great in HD, and my monitor doesn't support higher resolutions anyway.
2. I sold my PS3. Why? It has no games. I'm not a fanboy, I just buy whatever console has the best games. Ps3 basically only has cross platform games and metal gear solid, which i played and beat before i got rid of my ps3. You're gonna have to do more than that to get me to come back to ps3.

@TiduS4max I've Quake 4 on my 360 aswell. It's a great game. You should really try it out on a xbox 360 one day and come back here and comment what you thought about your gaming experience on the 360 compared to the ps3.

@CrazyAngelDude well there is no q4 for ps3, and for what ive seen in the reviews the 360 version has some major flaws, like fps drop and stuff idk if the game is buggy there, but in pc it runs just fine. i only bought a ps3 cuz my pc is kinda.. yknow slow. i needed a sistem for more beast games. of course the ps3 sells more in my country (portugal) and allmost all my friends had it. if i did bought a 360 would be for ace combat. have u played the AC5 for ps2? it rocks!

PS3 Slim & Xbox 360 Slim have the same price. The xbox s still sells better. RROD (E74) is gone forever. (If you have a slim) so don't blame the xbox for breaking so people have to buy new ones.

I have a PS3 right infront of me. Yesterday I played some Resistance 2 and other games. I can't honestly say I enjoyed any of them except for the new Tomb Raider game which is out for both consoles.

@kalols2 The graphics overall seemed to me very blurry and the HD wasn't anywhere near as good as Xbox 360. I also played some Gears of War and Halo Reach on my Xbox and I saw noticeable difference. Just face it, the X360's games in native 720p is even better than the PS3's 1080p games. Also, the controllers are bad.
Tiny semi-transparent black things with the joysticks next to each other. It's made to fit in a kids hands (or japanese). FPS Games with PS3 is the worst thing I've ever tried. Bye.

@kalols2 And the PS3 doesn't have 'faster loading times' they both have the exact same RPM on the HDDs and one of the main things you do with your xbox when you buy a game is INSTALL IT TO HARDDRIVE. I've played alot of ps3 last week and all I can say is; wow. when you download a demo or something it takes forever to download and gets interrupted and shit even with wired connection, and when you're done you have to INSTALL the game which takes AGES. With Xbox 360 you download>play>????>profit

@kalols2 Excuse me, what are you talking about? Blue-Ray <- That's how it is spelled correctly. Doesn't 'read the discs faster' and the processor doesn't have 7 cores, it has ONE core with 8 SPUs, which means itsimulates8 cores.

The PS3 graphicscard has dedicated vram while xbox360 has shared vram with ram. totally different.

@CrazyAngelDude You already started wrong. It's Blu-Ray, not Blue-Ray. Second, PS3's Cell processor has one core and seven SIMD units (SPEs), it doesn't simulate anything. And finally, the terms "dedicated" and "shared" are just marketing gimmicks. Despite sharing the memory between the CPU and GPU, Xbox 360's RAM has the exact same bandwidth as PS3's VRAM (22.4 GB/s), which means the memory performance is the same. That is not a disadvantage for Xbox 360 at all.

I dont play in HD at all and own a ps3, (480i or 480p, what ever standard tv definition is what I have) however, I have noticed, just looking at some xbox 360 games that my friend has, who also plays in standard definition, that my ps3 counterparts are much more sharp and colourful, so the 1080i also helps on other definitions. (BTW we have the same TV's! and set them to the same brightness,contrast, ect)

The sad truth is most game on both console run games at 720p and are upscale to 1080p, so it doesn't matter whether or not ps3 can run games in 1080p. But gives the 360 an edge over the ps3 in mutiplats is its GPU and ease of development. The Xenos has 10mb eDRAM that allows for free 4x MSAA without affecting the proformance and AA is very important for games running at 720p since jags are are more noticeable on lower resolutions.

And 1st PC wasn't used for gaming, it was used only for calculating and stuff, later started being used for gaming too. And about the PS3 vs 360. Ps3 is good. I prefer my xbox360 though. People say about all these graphic differences. The bottom line is that xbox360 can display at a maximum of 1080i and Ps3 at 1080i. Games like cod4 are maxed out on the 2 consoles at only 720p. PC is much better for graphics.

That statement is correct. Every 'Console Generation' there comes a PC title that basically blows the console games off the water graphically, and despite console games coming out years later, it just can't surpass them until next gen. Any one remember Half Life 2, Doom 3 and Far Cry last gen? So far this gen its just Crysis. Just 1 game. I'm sure there'll be a Crysis 2, Doom 4 or so this gen. But as Wipeout said, FEW PC games may look better while the PLAYSTATION family provides many.

Cod4 can only display at 600p to be honest and Ps3 can display some native ps3 games but only if on a 1080p screen.but so what? so can xbox360. Ok, ok last comment: Killzone 2 is the best looking console game in existence, you're correct. But it still isn't up to Crysis. Games are getting closer, and Crysis will be passed eventually, but not yet.
Obviously this is up for debate, but I own both, so the answer seems pretty clear.
You are correct in saying that this is pointless -- I just wish you guys would have your facts straight before you start slamming the PC.
