You know there's a "kill rotation" button, right?

I've found that sometimes the kill rotation doesn't work for situations like this.

However, what does work is counteracting the spin by firing in the opposite direction. Works every time for me, unless I'm using something crazy with a huge engine that interferes with the physics of counteracting by firing in the opposite direction.

It is a space simulator. It is called "Orbiter Space flight simulator." Yes it is free just do a google search on the name i gave and it will give you the site you should be going to at the top. Good Luck. It takes some trial and error to learn how to fly in space.
