I remember at my elementary, we had a fire prevention week. The first day we crawled through a simulation fire, and the smoke smelled like maple pancake syrup. The second day we met Roach, who was the mascot of our local fire department and a freaking genius. He was a mutt, but he'd do all kinds of crazy stuff. Stop drop and roll of course, crawling to get away from smoke, and they had all these reinactments about having a fire escape plan.
