The thing that's the most scary to me is the trucks feel so much faster than you are going. In my driver training class we were only going 30 max and that felt like 50
@firefightercharles some companies use a passport system as PAR. they have a velcro passport on their helmet and switch them in and out for alternate shifts or for PAR, but there are other reasons for having them
you will get the address over the radio transmission/text message. there will also be a printout when a call comes through. most fire departments have a gps program on their trucks. not mapquest but a specialized program that has hydrants plotted in, and of course, addresses
WOW it takes a long time for them to get to a fire! im glad i dont live in that town. if your house catches fire there just dont even call just let it burn i guess!! just kiddin great job guys!! im really joking you guys are my boys blue!!!
same here, I joined the fire dept and then took emt class just to help out and i skipped emt class to fight fire, as we were told, you're a firefighter first lol
@Punisher351 Not when your EMT class only allows so many missed days. Here its 3 missed class's and your out. Plus he can learn more at EMT class then dragging hose at that fire (from the sound of it at the start with "no offense Tyler" he is still a rookie my guess.
didn't quite sound like a Q to me. But if it was it was sticking real bad. Once in a while the brake will stick on a couple of ours and it won't coast nice. Ruins a good run when that happens.
Sounds like a 6 or 8v92 detroit engine, those are awesome engines!

firefighter5111 2 years ago 2
its a federal siren, all of our departments engines have em, plus the electronic one, which isnt as good as the federal
AmericanMan44 2 years ago
I bet they`re better than the sirens they used in Fred Flintstone`s day.

They had to travel between 3-4 miles to get there. There were probably at least 3 engines that were closer.
VanWADebbie 2 years ago
i would not skip a structure fire for emt class. i think being on that type of run is a good enough excuse
