I started this series by watching the "How TV Ruined Your Love Life" and since then I haven't seen an installment I considered on par with that episode. While this episode points out some nonsensical programing I think it fails to support its claim. Sure its easy to find so called nonfiction programing that has no educational value, but there are plenty of good ones too. History Channel may put on Deadliest Warrior and Conspiracy crap but they also have, stuff like Engineering an Empire.
Very true. I loved documentaries as a kid - Ed Burke's "The Day the Universe Changed," Sagan's "Cosmos" and so on. Most modern documentaries are just rapid cuts and flashy effects and silliness, and you come away from them barely having learned a thing.
I remember when I was young, there was a show called "Stoppit and Tidyup"
Narrated by Wogan.
I thought that was what they were talking about until they actually did the sketch
