I WAS alive back in "seventy-nine". Well, I can honestly say that, in those days, Robert Palmer was just starting out. He was under they radar - NO ONE HAD HEARD OF HIM.
I hope I didn't affend anyone! Love his music now, but to be honest, back in late 70's or early 80's: he was new, we did not know who he was. No lie.
Yeah, woulda liked to hear his further comment, you don't see this on TV here! haha Anywho, Palmer's radio friendly hit here is still playing on FM radio, as staple as Zeppelin, Seger or Heart!
Driving down the highway listening to this (or Bob Seger's Hollywood Nights) can almost guarantee a speeding ticket!. Love this song--especially those wailing guitars!
Yes he was awsome, i always like Robert Palmer, i didn't know he dies is so sad, but we always gonna have his music . He is in our hearts forever till we died too. RIP
Was driving to work this morning and this song was on the classic rock station. I almost got a ticket. Robert Palmer was a god. RIP you wonderful man.
Palmer, who made his home in Lugano, Switzerland for his last 15 years, died in Paris, France in 2003 of a sudden heart attack at the age of 54. He is interred at the cemetery in Lugano.
I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when Robert Palmer first opened his mouth to sing and THAT voice came out!!! He must have been like, oh SNAP, I'm gonna be a star!!!
Judging by the drums, and some other things i noticed about this mix, this is not the 1979 version. This is the remixed version that appeared on his "addictions" greatest hits. Not that it matters much, its a cool song, performed by a great singer.
It was a sad and great loss to music when Robert passed away. One true, talented and genuine artist. Saw him live in Wembley for my 21st birthday, what a priveledge!.
Still so awesome after so many years :)

If had been born a few decades earlier instead of the late 80s, I would've for real moved to England to seduce him. Lol.
So damn sexy... what happened to all the REAL MEN?
MJUSAYIN 1 year ago 2
I used to say that Robert Palmer was the sexiest man in rock & roll.
Man I miss him.
Thanks for posting this. I still haven't found any one to take his place and I probably won't.
