I understand what you would like to focus on as the "cause" of the crisis vs looking at what could have happened and didn't. Instead of spending on an unneeded war, we could have spent it on health care & alt energy, so that peoples' cost of living is lower, thus they could afford to pay their mortages. Spending on Health Care has also reduced Americans desire and ability to care for themselves. Soc. Sec., Medicare, etc have become a tax, since the money is thrown in with the rest of the budget and spent faster than ever. They cannot be sustained because more money is already owed than we can fund. Plus, Americans have become irresponsible, expecting this safety net to catch them.
Bombing Iran would be stupid. The people of Iran have been seeking an excuse to revolt for years.
