I really wish this movie had been, you know, watchable. It had so much potential and M. Night Shyamalan went and fucked it up. If they spent as much time and effort on the movie as they did on this trailer, I'm sure the movie would have freakin' amazing. But no. We got M. Night Shyamalan. *Facepalm* -.-
Race is only a little part of why it wasn't successful, actually. It was almost as if Shyamalan didn't even bother watching the series or researching. It was a poorly written script, poor plot, poor filmography, and little to no character development.
You should care less about what race the characters look like they might be (since there technically is none in the Avatar world), and more about actual IMPORTANT things.
If the characters in the show don't look Asian then why the HELL should they in a movie based off of the series? -_- You didn't miss anything. You just have an opinion without logic.

You have a problem with hairstyles being changed? It really doesn't matter. I doubt that Sokka's or Zuko's hairstyles would work for Jackson and Dev anyway. They would look very ridiculous and it would distract from the overall storytelling.

i think this movie looks great, even if i wasn't a fan of the cartoon series in the first place, this would still have been a movie i would have went and seen. you guys are bitching too much about the cast, i was mad about it too in the beginning, but the more i've seen of the film the more it actually looks good and more like the cartoon. at this point as long as they can act then i'm happy and if i like it i'll go see it again in 3D, the first time in 2D in case i hate it cuz 3D is more money

I'm a fan of the series, and I don't mind if the characters' appearances change. It's just a matter of accepting that changes will be made whether even the DIRECTOR wants them or not. It doesn't mean that the movie will be bad.

i think this movie looks great, even if i wasn't a fan of the cartoon series in the first place, this would still have been a movie i would have went and seen. you guys are bitching too much about the cast, i was mad about it too in the beginning, but the more i've seen of the film the more it actually looks good and more like the cartoon. at this point as long as they can act then i'm happy and if i like it i'll go see it again in 3D, the first time in 2D in case i hate it cuz 3D is more money

Honestly, I'm still gonna watch the movie because I'm a fan of the series. But dude, what the hell is up with the whites? Not to sound racist, but the Water Tribes should be Inuit. Ang and Zuko should've been Chinese, maybe not Ang so much since I could settle for him being Tibetan or Indian. It would make a lot more sense.

The Northern and Southern Water tribes were at different ends of the world, North and South, North Pole and the Antarctic. Now, what race inhabits the northern region? Inuits, you fucking retard. Do I need to fucking continue? It was an Asian storyline, possibly Manhwa, that got funded by American productions, Nickelodeon.
