2 many ppl spend too much time worrying about her high notes than giving her credit for having AMAZING control in other parts of her register. I found 1:55 to about 2:13 incredible.

Most of Touch my Body Performances are live at the belting part at the end (There was a Backing track fail where mariah sang "stop singin my part now baby" and then she beltet the rest of the performance live.

i think its pretty obvious this is partially pre-recorded. so from 2:40, its like she lip-synchs one phrase and then sings live for one phrase. then back to pre-recorded and it goes back and forth.
like at the end,
"nobody better (probably live)", "oh baby baby (probably pre-recorded)"
they sound so different to me.
i mean she does this all the time with Fly Like A Bird too.
still a great singer but i just dont know why she needs to do all these tricks. hmmm

First of all, Mariah's voice this day was INSANE. Have you heard the Vision of Love performance from this special? Incredible. But it was insane. She is far too insecure. She sounded better than the recording here, so I don't know why she lips so much. I think she is scared of damaging her voice again. So when she does sing parts live she gets nervous and tenses up I think. That's what makes it sound not so great IMO.

@rekupp I thought it was live at Canadian Idol, and I still do, but people (big fans of hers) keep saying the E5's weren't live, but the ending C5 was. The Grammys was live until the E5's and I think she sang the C5 live. I don't know though, she has a lot of different playbacks for this song.

@rekupp Oh I know the younger Mariah was amazing vocally. The other user was talking about the best We Belong Together performance at her prime and this is the only one. The 2000s Mariah is hit and miss, whereas the 90s Mariah is mostly hit.

@sevensilver1 You don't have the guarantee by any artist. You can't say if shes live or not. Just enjoy it. Only mariah knows it. Most of her Performances in the 00 are live, but she works with backing tracks and only sings the really hard parts live (belting parts etc.). Most of Touch my Body Performances are live at the belting part at the end (There was a Backing track fail where mariah sang "stop singin my part now baby" and then she beltet the rest of the performance live.
