  • This is one of the best songs ever!

  • this song kicked ass.when i was young smokin opium and drinking. rock on blondie.

  • BRING BACK DISCO!!

God, I has SO much fun during that era!

  • Breathtaking. Debbie is a force of nature! Without her, the track is just drumming....

  • Sweet!

  • believe it or not debbie is 34 this video

  • The drummer may be the Icing BUT D.H. is the CAKE!

  • Sorry kids we were cooler than your generation back in the day. Your music sucks now.

  • @pirate78118 Good one Pirate good one

  • Like 90 percent of all posts I too will comment on the best drumming performance I have heard in a song. He is pedal to the metal the entire song. He is the song.

  • Let's face it, with all due respect to Debby, as gorgeous as she is here, the drummer (Clem Burke) really drove this song all the way...!!!

  • my favorite blonde ever.

  • Clem Burke is Blondie. The man picked up where Keith Moon left off on this tune.

  • What is the "Blondie sound"? I love this stuff. The Killers "Mr. Brightside" seems to take off of the same kind of sound. I can't put my finger on it. Synths droning in the bridge? Specific synth patch? What are the chord progressions/general build? I am really asking for real opinions on what makes "Dreaming" such a good piece. Is anyone out there that knows wanting to comment? (Thanks in advance!)

  • Debbie's hair goes from 'perfect & dry' to 'sweaty and messed up' back and forth several times through this video........ magic! I swear back in 78or 79 I thought Blondie was a British band, because they were touted as #1 in Britain + punk and the style and phrases in this song didn't help.↓

    "A movie or a measure"?

I'll have a cup of tea

    Beat feet, walking a two-mile.

Meet me, meet me at the turnstile.

    filling up an idle hour.

I sit by and watch the river flow.

I sit by and watch the traffic go

  • Dream dream even for a little while. :)

  • What i'd do to live back then..<3

  • Dreaming is free love that song and u are fine as hell wish we could go back in time u in my heart. But I'm dreaming but dreaming is free

  • AWESOME.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Chem Burke played with the Eurythmics and Dylan after Blondie later in his career so he had to be good. I think he's the best drummer out there. That my opinion. And you know about opinions! They are like assholes. Everyone has one. Well maybe not everyone.

  • @baerdiver He is great. But not sure him playing with Dylan means that. Dylan sucks live. He also played with the Romantics.

  • Clem Burke is AWESOME!

Too bad that fuckheads at VEVO/the label rip the guts out of the song by turning down the gain (volume (sort of)) and downloading onto the web at about 160 kbps.

    FUCK VEVO.

  • Clem burke awesome drummer...........WOW!!

  • There is always a smile playilng on her lips. Gaaaaa! Maybe next lifetime.

  • Debbie Forever!!! Love this band--got all their CD's. Clem Burke is a beast behind those drums

  • Tremendous drum line. The whole rythym section drives this song.

  • Great tune. Debbie Harry was really sexy back then, and had the talent to go with it.

  • what a voice and such a cool band - love Blondie!!!

  • :13 does anyone think the Killers song Mr brightside was based of that part of this song?

  • This song has been part of the soundtrack in my head most of my adult life. Every now and then I catch myself singing it out of the blue. Its permanently lodged in my consciousness and I'm happy about that. Oh, and Clem Burke = Drumming Athlete. Freaking amazing.

  • that dress belongs in the rock and roll hall of fame

  • Debbie and the boys hit #27 in Billboard, 12-1-79. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • FUCK THE ADS

  • @TheRiceowlex Agreed.

  • The guitar drone in the bg also sends this tune into the cosmos, with the drumming and Deb of course

  • When I was staying at the hotel california, it didn't matter? if you were into rock, rap, blues or jazz. When Blondie came on..EVERYBODY stopped and sang along.

  • Id build a road of gold just to spend a night with Deborah Harry, and then she can sing me to sleep!!!

  • I would die to preserve that smile at 0:10 seconds in!

  • @stylerico2000 I like the "People stop and stare at me" glare...She's just captivating....!!!

  • @TheRiceowlex Ya that look kicked dropped my blood pressure also! Luv her

  • I think that's my mom in the audience.

  • Pop music perfection. This thing doesn't even give you time to breathe...

  • A song that is woefully under played on the radio.

  • 0:28 one of the ealiest confirmed sightings of the "flock of seagulls haircut! epic!

  • One of my all time favorite singles...right before they rather tragically discovered reggae and rap. Clem Burke is a monster drummer

  • What a catchy song.

  • Check out all the late 70's hipsters and new wavers in the background!

They were all members of the Blondie fan club and were invited for this taping.

  • Deborah Harry just kills me. An amazing combination of talent, beauty and just a really cool performer. Legit. No one can touch her.

  • favorite part @1:49. love this song and this girl. late 70's was fun.

  • Did she ever sing live or was it always a tape?

  • @19rick64 Look at the Apollo Theater performance for this song.

  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time! It makes me so happy. It's like you're happiest in your dreams & you spend your whole life trying to achieve them. People try to put a price on everything in life but you can't put a price on your dreams...they're free. :) Great lyrics and her voice was so beautiful on this song! I ♥ Blondie!

  • Reaming is free ... most of the time.

  • Oh momma

i feel all gooey with love inside,...

    dam that voice!

  • More talent in her little finger than that Gaga chick will ever have.

  • Was not a big Blondie fan, but have been listening to this song for about 20 years. The stick work is some of the best. Incredible!

  • Ladytron stole this for "International Dateline".

  • I think The Killers may have borrowed from this song for their song Mr Brightside. At least I hear some similarities.

  • Rock'in....Debra....looking good and rocking hard....pretty too... Had me dreaming

  • They always look so bored. lol But Clem Burke is always full of energy and really gets into it.

  • cool video!!

  • Too bad the volume is too low.

  • Song is amazing!!!

  • Blondie is the most beautiful......

  • how the frig did she get her hair to do that? ZOMFG. Amazing.

  • @PoemOf4Letters "how the frig did she get her hair to do that?"

She's Debbie Harry, she could make her hair do anything!

  • The drummer made this song complete and one of, if not the best, song from Blondie. Love the energy.

  • @mpturcotte Clem Burke did an awesome job in this song. You are right about him making this song complete.

  • @kidyubyub Clem Burke is a HUGE PART of the success of Blondie. Most of Blondie's hits have very unique, strong drumlines. Clem has done a good job of immulating his hero Keith Moon, thank God he didn't follow the

    bad parts for Keith.

  • @kidyubyub Correct! Burke is a maniac on this song. The drum fills remind me of Keith Moon.

  • @mpturcotte Clem is great in this tune. I met him here is Chicago a few months ago. He was playing with Hugh Cornwell of the Stranglers. Really nice guy.

  • @mpturcotte A drum pattern that every drummer should learn!

  • @mpturcotte Clem Burke rocks!!!! This gives me the shivers, because of his drumming.

  • @mpturcotte He should have gotten a writing credit for this song. i seriously doubt that Debby or her bitch actually wrote that drum part.

  • not loud enough

  • One of the greatest band ever. Blondie is immortal...

  • Not Loud Enough

  • Blondie one of my favorites band ever.!
