I'm totally with you man! I think Joesph has the talent and overall the look to play as legendary Joker the exact way Heath did. Let's just hope it happens. Maybe it's just a trick to make us think that he's not going to play as The Joker in the The Dark Night Rises...when he actually is!

I think that their faces are very similar, and they are both great talents, but I'm not sure if they have the same body type (not that it's a huge deal) but I think Ledger is a little bigger with broader shoulders. Ledger also has a deeper voice with more presence. And the Joker's voice is a major aspect to his character. I really hope Levitt can do the Joker voice.

I absolutely agree with this...they are practically brothers. Im gonna keep my fingers crossed that he will be, but Heath was the ideal Joker, and that will never change, but Joseph could walk in those footsteps.

Man, you post this video long time ago and last sunday i went to watch the Iron Man 2 and during the trailers i saw the "Inception" trailer. That movie has Christopher Nolan (the same director from "The Dark Knight") and our guy Joseph Gordon-Levitt. You can also check that there are some actors from "The Dark Knight as Michael Caine and Cillian Murphy.
So, I don't need to say that our director is "testing" his new JOKER :}
I've thought this before there was ever anything about it online and I swear my life on that and I love the fact it seems alot of people feel the same. I hope he gets it and can pull it off.
I do rather like Joseph Gordon Levitt a lot, Brick was a fantastic film and his hard boiled persona was excellent. However, I don't think he should playing the Joker, simply because I think he would end up having to imitate Ledger, rather than innovate in another villian (or heroe) of his own.

Christopher Nolan already said there wasn't going to be another joker in the series. I can see him or Dexter's Michael C. Hall as the Riddler though!
