Actually I think it's (also) quite interesting what sangrealhande said there. and besides that, that's kinda his interpretation, so what're you trying to say?
@sangrealhande 1-I agree, I take his lyrics literally, why have so few people seen it that way? And that's why I'm going to hopefully use it someday in a move I'm writing now about two boys who fall in love with each other in the 17th century. 2-bonus points for using heteronormative correctly :)
My friend told me about this song. I love my friend c:

The piano part that begins at 0:57 is amazing (as is everything else in the song), great song as usual

I think Sufjan narrates a girl's experiences of her first crush...and that's amazing, if you think about it

@lombmusic07 It's about a childhood friend of his, I think he said.
And why a girl's?

@lombmusic07 It's so vivid it would be amazing for anyone, girl or boy, with a recollection of their first time being in love.

@lombmusic07 or if we leave the heteronormative glasses aside he's telling his own experiences of his crush on his best friend.

@sangrealhande That is PC and rather literal. How about leaving space for others' interpretations, without coming in here with a verbal hammer.
