  • Voluntary virgins have as little comprehension of the pain, anger and loneliness of INVOLUNTARY CELIBACY as do the sexually promiscuous bullies who mock virgins

Religious fundamentalists are not as cruel in their approach but telling someone suffering from this sort of loneliness that the answer is in God, isnt remotely helpful.

I also think it is arrogant of religious hardliners to demand others dont have sex before marriage- who are you to preach to others about their lives??

  • I respect voluntary virgins who chose celibacy for religious reasons. It obviously isn't pleasant being ridiculed. But at least voluntary celibates are comfortable in their positions.

The hardest position of all is for involuntary celibates; people who want to experience sex but for a variety of reasons can't. The frustration, loneliness and mental anguish they feel is hugely overlooked.

I respect voluntary celibates but I think they should also respect involuntary celibates

  • Is it me or does the audio really sound like some recording ?

  • What's that to do with anything!

  • @cogsdell Generally the audio is someone speaking & recording live for the video but in this case it seemed like the audio was pre-recorded.

  • @genai98 its just a computer-generated voice reading what they typed, that's why it sounds odd.

  • @vexx506 Thanks man, I didn't strike me back then.

  • It's natural to have the desire to have sex, it motivates family and that's the same reason it should be confined to marriage. I've seen the overall damages of self worth, respect, and love come from premarital intimacy in all of its forms. Do not arouse those feelings in any until marriage, and then keep it between you and your spouse, it is so special then. So many people miss out on the beauty of marital intimacy, and I believe that's why people ridicule virginity, because they've missed out.

  • @lawfullyperfect Well said...

  • Can a child be un-conceived? Can a marriage be divorced in the Name of Jesus Christ? Can an experience be un-lived? Likewise, a parthenos cannot regain her virginity, but has been pierced, and therefore married to a man. Until her purchaser dies, she is his. The ways of God can seem foreign and offensive to those in the West, can't they? I feel so much pity for those who have believed the lie that premarital sex exists, for every instance of sex is either binding marriage or shameful adultery.

  • Great video. Don't let the comments about the creepy voice get to you. A unique voice makes a video more memorable.

  • I've remained a virgin all my life just because I want to play it smart & I don't want a needlessly complicated life.

  • this the truth! let us all protect our virginity in every way...

  • @sirrodz - thank you for your comments!

  • people who ridicule virgins are IGNORANT, IDIOTIC AND LOSERS they think that it is so cool to make fun of a person's PERSONAL CHOICE, when in reality THOSE people who make fun of them make themselves LOOK BAD. just becuse "everyone is doing it" doenst mean its RIGHT

  • @Rogue746 I agree, People who ridicule virgins because they are virgins are just looking for conflict. Likewise, people who ridicule people who are not virgins for not being virgins are guilty of the same fault.

  • I'm a 21 year old virgin and practice celibacy. Mostly motivated by my environment, I've never had a desire to have sex and if I did I wouldn't settle for anything less than marriage. I wanted to do something different other than what I was exposed to. I've noticed that many people who are bothered or ridicule virginity, are the main ones who can't come to grips with the decision they made. Or they've been brainwashed to think their lives cannot be fulfilled unless sex is involved.

  • @Sepia1789 - thank you very much for your excellent comments! regards...

  • Wonderful video. My husband and are are devout Catholics who are very happy that we both waited until we were married to have sex.

  • @lifecoach2010 - thank you very much for your comments and may God Bless you and your family! regards...

  • must love the Lord before you can love your wife/husband

  • I am a recent convert to Christianity. I can say from experience that being sexually active before marriage often leads to sexless and emotionally dead marriages. I see it every day with my secular friends.

Now that I am a Christian, I know many couples who were chaste before marriage and are now in loving and VERY passionate marriages. It's not a coincidence.

  • DavidBFeeney, thank you for your excellent comments!

  • "Why Do So Many Ridicule Virgins, Virginity & Chastity?" Because This generation is corrupt thats why.

  • i feel much better now about being a virgin i want to remain a virgin until marriage i won't care about want igornant people say anymore

  • @Forgetthis08 You said it = D

  • a person who controls his desires has much more mastery over his self as compared to one who indulges in every illicit pleasure in order to satisfy his body, to which he is an unhappy slave to.

  • The negative comments I have read about this video are mostly based around the issue it addresses. The sad part about that is that I haven't read an intelligent argument yet against the issue. Perhaps thats because there isn't an intelligent one, only one that rationalizes the writers behavior. For the record, rationalizing something doesn't make it a reasonable argument. Usually, it's quite the opposite.

  • how bout this for a good argument. The church and every old institution in the past promoted virgnity because you cant just be popping out kids. You had zero chance of taking care of them it was hard enought to keep 2 or 3 alive till puberty. Its 2009, we dont have to worry about that anymore, there are condoms and birth control. Learn to love have fun and feel good, thats what 2009 life is. This isnt 1009 forget the church and everthing it taught its irrelevant, life doesnt suck anymore

  • Okay, I need this question answered...

Let's say you have two people, neither have married but only one is a virgin; can they marry, or must the virgin find only another virgin?

To word it another way: we know the fornication of one of them was sin by itself, but would that prior act cause a subsequent marriage of those people to be a sin also, either of one or both people?

I know that both being virgin is ideal, but if that's not the case, is it actually *sin*?

  • Keylimedelight....You have little understanding about the dignity of human life and of respect for yourself and others. I saw that rude message addressed to me. You're typical of the mindless morons out there who only add to the anarchy instead of finding a solution. Change your ways, otherwise one day you'll be a parent and your children will do as your rude mouth teaches. Honor yourself and honor others.

  • Even catholics don't think the church is 2000+ years old and the RCC is much less.

Human nature has changed very little, if any, since the first known societies. Psycho-analysis and social statistics are new to "The Modern World", as well as technology that allows less moral capitalist to bombard the ignorant masses with sexual marketing. I fail to see why you think religious or moral teachings have no baring in this age. Frankly, I would argue that they have more relevance than now than then.

  • Excellent video! I'm 37 and am still pure....so if any of you think it's not possible....IT IS!! Right is right no matter how many people may poke fun at you or misunderstand. Some of my co-workers freaked when I told them, many thought I was either married or with a girlfriend. Unfortunately, the reality today is that there are too many people out there who are interested in self-interests than actually loving someone with their minds and hearts. It's a sick world out there these days. :(

  • kooslap, thank you for your comments!!

  • Thanks for sharing. You are really inspiring. I am 18 and I am proud to be a virgin. It has to do with respecting myself and others, which God wants us to do. Alot of people think I must be miserable because I have decided to the chaste, but it's not true. I have come to appreciate the little things and have a greater sense of self. I am not ashamed that I have high standards for myself and my future husband.

  • Very eloquently put! And so very true! I have felt likewise as well.

And don't forget the unborn as well, they should be respected...people play a sort of russian roulette with innocent life when they fool around with pre-marital sex.

  • You GO girl! God bless you in your resolve - you will give the best possible wedding gift to your husband: the lifelong knowledge that you thought _him alone_ worth waiting for, and God worth pleasing FIRST.

  • @kooslap ure an inspiration koolsap! wow...there are soooo many downsides to fornication, idk wyhy people risk it! sometimes even their lives! crazy...

  • @patriciacarrasco Thank you, it's nice to be appreciated/esteemed by others who fight the good fight...we have to support/encourage each other because the world isn't easy on people like us. One thing I've learned over the years is that many people are driven by lust, fear of loneliness and of loneliness itself. It's the number one cause(apart from money) of most personal psychological traumas and of broken families in the world. All things come round full circle to affect the state of society.

  • that's a good video. i'm a teen christian and get teased at school because i believe it's wrong to be interested in sex unless people are married.

  • harry9393, thank you for your comments. Your good, intelligent, courageous example will help others. We need more people like you! Regards...

  • GOOd for you. When I was a teen, people were more subdued and sex was a very private matter and it was easy to remain chaste. Now it;s different, you have a harder time, we´re bombarded with sex, but keep the good fight.

  • I agree with this information, but I have to admit, the voice is REALLY CREEPY! Good information, but it could have been presented in a better way.

  • I am not catholic, however, the issue here is that of obedience to God. It's THAT Academic. Obey God and Live. Disobey God and suffer the consequences. Your message was great, just get rid of the icons and MORE non catholics would have viewed it. Thats my opinion. Thank you

  • Its not only about obeying God. Its also about respecting your own body and that of your future spouse. I've heard virgins that marry another virgin are happier than those who "shop around" before marriage.....

  • At first you might feel discontented, guilty, and degraded. Eventually you are able to rationalize whatever it is you are doing. Once the sin has become a habit, a certain numbness sets in and you start slipping farther and farther away from any sense of right and wrong.

  • people have reduced sex to just somehting that makes you feel good. it is there to give life, and you can't have just a casual apporach to it because if you want to have sex, you have to be ready for commitment.

  • It is only as the development of the brain reaches a great complexity that it is capable of formulating about suicide. It is only when you reach the level of the human brain can you begin to consider the process of evolutionary suicide.

  • Good video but her voice is weird and sort of creepy with the music

  • Great video. Thank you.

  • DragonessLife, thank you for watching and for your comments!

  • there's an amazing pro-abstinence site at pmsa.zoomshare.c om that I think you'd like

  • DDeRosia82, thank you very much for the information!!

  • You might add chastity to the title of the film. It is never too late to begin practicing this virtue. Why the somber music, though? Chastity is not one of the easiest virtues to master, but we are all called to it; not just the sour-faced party-poopers.

  • sacredcello, thank you for the good idea. I have added the word, "chastity" to the title. Thanks!!

  • its religious idea that u shouldn't have sex or masturbate before ur married and i thing thats stupid i do not rush anyone to sex who dosent want it but if u and ur partner are ready what is the poblem??

  • I don't agree with the idea that sex outside of marriage is irresponsible, but I am against the ridicule of anyone who wants to wait.

  • Rosaryfilms, expect an email... longer than what the comment ox ermits here.

  • ok,your right, ill try to get my virginity back...

  • virginity is a choice(religious or not) it has nothing to do with abortion, rape, illegitimate children, sexually transmitted diseases, incest, adultery. however there is place for self-control. i respect those who wants to keep virginity, actualy i don't care because there is real problems to worry about. i hope you guys can use your faith focusing on actual problems instead of bringing back oldish virtues

  • madkrull, people who are able to practice self-control and have moral values, remain virgins until they are married. People who do not practice self-control and do not have moral values, beget the previous listed ills, which are REAL major world problems to say the least. Your comment on "oldish virtues" is a classical example of smearing the good name of virginity; hence, the purpose of the film.

  • Appeal to superior morality.

Frankly, I believe that having pre-marital sex is perfectly within the confines of what's moral. And again pre-marital sex doesn't necessitate lack of self control.

  • Why Do So Many People Try To Ridicule Virgins and Virginity? , ask your god. is this the kind of concern catholics have to worry about?? we are killing our planet , going to war etc, and its not because we are not virgin anymore

  • madkrull, the list of ills that plague humanity from a lack of being able to control the sexual urge is as follows: abortion, rape, illegitimate children, sexually transmitted diseases, incest, adultery, fornication, unplanned pregnancies, etc., etc. -- the list goes on and on. So how are these problems addressed? Does mankind teach chastity, the value of virginity, the virtue of self-control?? No, it throws out some condoms and says, "Here, use these!".

  • Simply giving condoms to teenagers without explaining the emotional and physical responsibilities would be irresponsible. The idea of sex-education is to promote knowledge and understanding of physical maturity, the sexual act and its potential consequences, not the promotion of promiscuity.

  • Great Job!

  • laurajdahl, thank you very much for watching and for your comments!!

  • ;) God bless you for this video...

  • 1st off Ive been celibate 13 years, not due 2 religious doctrines but childhood sexual issues and tho I despair of the human tamperings of christianity I have a great PERSONAL relationship with god,,however,Im afraid 'God' designed all with sexual urges, its how we deal with such impulses that characterises a man from a rapist/paedo(etc),theres an argument that the creator is a perv/likes procreation,,why not?,and masterbation?Where do u stand on vicars jerkin off 2 porn?etc.

  • If you would like links to statistics and info on the disadvantages of abstinence-only education, I can provide them, though I can't post links in comments.

Really, abstinence-only sex ed is like sending some poor kid into a monsoon with only a cocktail umbrella.

  • nyXdeathXangel, with all due respect, you are unread and educated with regards to the Roman Catholic religion. You have never even read one good Roman Catholic Book, yet, you judge something you know essentially nothing about.

  • If I repeatedly say I know all about the teachings of the RCC why do you feel the need to repeatedly say that I haven't? And you say you don't talk down.

  • nyXdeathXangel, based on your many comments, you do not know what the Church teaches. You repeatedly criticize the Church, but when asked what your own religious beliefs are, you refuse to answer.

  • And why shouldn't I?

    It's utterly irrelevant.

And I know EXACTLY what the church teaches. That doesn't mean that I agree.

Or are you arrogant enough to believe that it should?

  • nyXdeathXangel, you have no idea what the Church teaches. Name one good catholic book that you have read from front to cover.

  • 'The Mystery of Love for the Single'

    'Predestination'

    'Dressing With Dignity'

Many more. Though none of them were good. Rather stupid actually. I believe that my boyfriend bought all of the ones listed off of tanbooks.

  • nyXdeathXangel, you have no idea what the Church teaches. Name one good catholic book that you have read from front to cover.

  • The lies about the effectiveness of contraception instil fear into impressionable young minds unnecessarily. Of course, abstinence education is not about being safe - if condoms were 100% effective, these moral crusaders with tax-dollars would still find an excuse not to use them. It's about control and forcing a fundamentalist agenda on the majority, regardless of the outcome.

  • ChoofMonster, please read some good books on what the Church teaches.

  • Few people ridicule those who choose to remain chaste; however, the rest of the world is laughing its collective head off over the United States' policy of abstinence "education".

  • That's 'cause abstinence-only education doesn't only fail to keep kids chaste, it raises teen pregnancy rates and the spread of STI/STDs.

Frankly, not only is it crock, but it spreads lies that condoms are useless.

  • nyXdeathXangel, abstinence does not raise teen pregnancy rates.

  • rosaryfilms, read statistics. It does.

  • nyXdeathXangel, have common sense. It doesn't.

  • rosaryfilms, statistics it does.

Just 'cause you tell someone to be abstinent, doesn't mean they will be. Then they have sex without condoms. Hello teenage pregnancy.

  • nyXdeathXangel, with all due respect, you are unread and educated with regards to the Roman Catholic religion. You have never even read one good Roman Catholic Book, yet, you judge something you know essentially nothing about.

  • Why do people ridicule virgins? because sex is awesome. People should have sex before they get maried because you should test drive the car before you buy it. You only have one life to live and you should live it to the fullest. Stop STD's, pregnancy, and abortion use contraception and know how to use it

  • KWilly89, your comment is truly irresponsible, ignorant and arrogant -- I suspect you are trolling.

  • Its more responsible than you. Whats going to happen when someone acts on the urge to have sex and there not educated in how to use condoms

  • Exactly what's BEEN happening... they'll have sex anyway, but they'll do it without protection.

  • nyXdeathXangel, condoms, condoms, condoms is not the answer.

  • rosaryfilms, it is the answer for those who want to have sex without wanting to:

    a) contract an STD

    or

    b) get pregnant.

Condoms are 97% effective. The other 3% is basically human error.

  • nyXdeathXangel, condoms are not the answer. Being sexually responsible is the answer. Many want to play with fire without suffering the pains of being burned. Best not to play with fire. Conjugal love is reserved for marriage. The conjugal act and pro-creative act are addressed in many documents of the Church. Please read them.

  • How is using condoms not being sexually responsible, and why should your definition of sexually responsible apply to everyone.

Even assuming that sex should be reserved for marriage, there are plenty of people who never want a kid: EVER. Not even after marriage. Are you saying they should stay virgins forever?

As for me, I'd never marry someone if I wasn't sure we were sexually compatible.

  • nyXdeathXangel, with all due respect, you are unread and educated with regards to the Roman Catholic religion. You have never even read one good Roman Catholic Book, yet, you judge something you know essentially nothing about.

  • nyXdeathXangel, please read some good books on what the Church teaches.

  • rosaryfilms, I have.

They remain to be crock. Statistics show abstinence-only sex ed programs to be inefficient. And common sense shows that they lie.

  • Excellent job, but two small gripes: the music is a bit morbid, and AIDS is not an STD. There is 1. no scientific paper to establish the existence of HIV in fresh blood 2. No scientific paper which establishes how HIV would cause AIDS. Sex is dirty enough that we don't have to engage in hyperbole to oppose it as such. Virginity is purity and virtue - that should be apparent enough when it is pointed out. Thanks for making this video.

  • Here's something you should know: There ARE STDs that can spread through kissing.

If someone you kiss, kissed someone with oral herpes, they get oral herpes. They kiss you, they pass it on to you.

Then you have it... it may be YEARS 'til your primary outbreak. You could have spread it to other people.

  • Kissing is indeed a dirty thing. There's a lot more in someone's mouth than just "herpes virus". The mouth of a dog is even much cleaner than that of a person.

  • Haha, yeah, I knew that. It's funny. The human mouth at its absolute CLEANEST will have more stuff in it, than the mouth of a dog that just licked god-knows-what.

  • Aside from devoted wife-mothers, virgins are the only truly decent women on this planet.

  • Let's practice incontinence!

  • You first!

  • Excellent job!

  • Jeanmarie3, thank you very much for your comments!

  • Me and my husband vere virgins at the moment of our wedding day. What we had (and you didn't) is the most beautifull wedding night. What we have now (after 10 years) is faithfulness, natural family planning methods, two wonderfull daughters and lot's of evergrowing love in our family. Practically all of our friends who have "tested" each other before marriage are now divirced. That's the answer, I suppose.

  • bogienka, thank you very much for your comments and for sharing your experiences with us!

  • You are right. A lot of people who have sex with each other before they are married are divorced or getting divorced. I do feel that we should wait until we are married to have sex.

  • spanishbaby505, thank you very much for your comments!

  • @bogienka God bless you, your husband, and your blossoming family. Having studied the statistical data in depth, I can assure you that you and yours are likely to remain a firm and godly family. Contact me if you would like the actual studies and numbers.

  • Im so blessed to have married my wife a virgin i love her even more after the first 2 nights that we made it, after a long wait for over 3 years of being lovers because i respected her chastity and faith. She is the most beautiful woman in the world to me and I thanked GOD for giving her to me.

  • uprightrebellion, thank you very much for your comments and for sharing your experiences with us!!

  • @uprightrebellion Because you married a virgin, your chances of ever getting divorced are much lower than those men who were not as fortunate. Contact me if you would like the actual studies and numbers.

  • If "God" knows and created all then he wouldn't have created premarital sex. It's that simple, over half of the populations of families are headed by unwed couples or single parents.

  • casmith245, God did not create "premarital sex". He gave man the capacity to choose good or evil. We can use our hands to help others or to murder others. It is our choice, our free will. If the wrong doers out numbers the good, then that does not make the wrong doers right.

  • He did make premarital sex because if he didn't then it would NEVER happen because "God" knows all and made all "HE" made it and there fore condones it no matter what you prude bible thumpers think

  • casmith245, God created conjugal love for use within the Sacrament of Marriage. The Church, nor the Bible, has never condoned premarital sexual relationships, but has always condemned fornication.

  • Well time to update the bible that crusty old sack of crap has been out of date since the 20's.

  • casmith245, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

  • The majority of people see the way I do. Only extreme Bible thumpers are virgins at marriage. There are 14 year olds giving blowjobs in the back of the school bus now so the point of this video is moot.

  • casmith245, rational people who listen to their conscience remain virgins before marriage. Both natural revelation and Divine revelation are for the benefit of human beings.

  • Almost no one is a virgin when they are married now and thank god for that why buy a cow you haven't milked yet.

  • casmith245, don't thank God because it is clearly against God's law. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

  • Well if it against "God's" law then how come we aren't all smote when we do it?

  • casmith245, for the same reason we have free will and we aren't smote for all of the evil things that we do. However, the Church teaches that we must answer for our acts after we die.

  • Well since the invention of the condom and 11 other forms of birth control along with abortion, and the morning after pill pretty much no one is a virgin at marriage anymore and it will continue to rise until the only virgins will be a small group in Utah.

  • casmith245, comments like that is the reason why I made the film.
