Omg I lived like 15 to 10 minutes away from Vaughan where the tornado hit and my 13 year old brother and I were freaking out! My cousin lived like right there and I was so worried, my 4 cousins and my aunt and uncle!
Sigh I remember that night so well my sister got her G1 on that day and that day was kinda weird like i could feel it was kinda hot and cold at the same time btw I was in newmarket when this all happened
Great video.. Im from Markdale, Ontario and i live in Bobcaygeon with my bf .. I always visit flesherton to see my dad ... And when i heard about the durham i was so scared .
I was at Canada's wonderland in Vaughn that day, me, my dad and my sister were in the water park and all of a sudent the sky turned purple & it started pouring rain! we had to run through the park to get to the car and we got soaked! we missed the tornado by an hour though. xD
i live in vaughan and i was there at the vaughan mills parking lot in my car suddenly..............ccccccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the car took off to our house!
omg i live in vaughan mils i was in vancover when this tornado hit when i came back to my house my tree infront of my house fell but nothing happen to my house
tornadoes scar me to death! I've never seen one (I live in el paso, so not very likely to get a tornado) and I sure as hell hope that I'll ever see one in real life, I would have a heart attack.
@shakysyxx I don't know where you get your info, but Ontario alone usually gets around 11 tornadoes during tornado season, this year so far there have been 9, and the main season for tornadoes has not happened yet, usually around august 1st through the 20th
its was wild i was at home at the time and i was watching tv and my father told me to go outside,i was nearly struck by lightning it scared the crap out of me but still really cool.
OMG that is insane I was at the beach when it hit we where with kids under ten some where crying I was even and I AM TWELVE SAND KEEPED ON BLOWING IN OUR FACES AND WE COULDN'T SEE A THING 0:58 LITGHTING IN THE TORNADO CRAZY STUFF
Here in Melbourne in Australia we hardly get crazy weather like this, but thankfully I'll be relocating to T.O (either Mississauga or Brampton) real soon :)
I was at Canada's wonderland when this happend, I was with my sister and cousin. It started just pouring really hard, and so we left the park. The power was off and so was the street lights, and poles were going back and fourth. We didn't realise we were in a tornado until we put on the radio and said that a Tornado hit Vaughn Ontario
That was the first time i was in a tornado, it was exciting and scary at the same time.
@XxSkittledropXx i was at canadas wonderland to that day with my brother i was freaking on the bus ride back to the subway station cause there was a tornadoe behind us
I was in Toronto in that period, but if i remember well that day i was at my uncle's house in North york. But anyway,i have lots relatives also in Vaughan and especially near Richmond hill and woodbridge. After a couple of days i went with one of my cousins to visit the destroyed houses in Woodbridge,it was very dramatic, and aren't know why this happened, because Toronto in an unusual place for Tornado.
i was stuck in the car in traffic my daughter was born 5 days before the sky was green the car was shaking i was terrified and my daughter slept through the whole thing and the year before i went through the downsview sunrise propane explosion
wtf are u talking about u dumass bitch!!! U ACTUALLY HOPE PPL DIED BIGGEST RETARD IVE EVER SEEN ON INTERNET AND IF I find u in real life I swear to god I will knock u out man ure so darn stupid
it was very humid that day. I remember eating chips at the beach when we heard thunder..... thankfully it was the day we were leaving the camping trip.
I just think that tornado sirens are worth it considering that Ontario weather gets pretty severe in summer and most tornado occurances in Canada occur in ONtario...besides any tornado we get here has the potential to gain strength like any other tornado and duration on the ground
I don't know if Toronto has tornado sirens, but NOW IS THE TIME TO FUCKIN SET THEM UP! As the summers go on, our weather seems to be rubbin' off of Texas Tornado Alley. Our government isn't doing shit about the warning systems. Sure our tornadoes are brief and non-texas like, but all that sucker needed to do was to move more south to wipe out the city.
Toronto seems to think that our tornadoes are just playing around. They are brief, weak, blah blah. Give that sucker another 10-20 minutes to move south and then see who's laughing once it hits the city buildings.
I wasn't actually there at the time but I live near there, and I was on a little vacation, like by lake superior while that was happening, we heard it on the radio...
And when we were driving home, we saw the carnage... like a whole forest was knocked down, we also saw a trailer ripped in half... We got back to our house and realized our gazibo and table were gone... we found them later in our forest.... lol It was very nice up at Sauble beach, no rain at all...
I have lived in Texas my entire life and never actually experienced a tornado, though we have had many close instances. My friends and I took a road trip and drove up to the Toronto area to drop off a friend on August 20th. We were at the top of the CN tower when someone told us that a tornado was passing through a nearby area. My first reaction was "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FREAKIN KIDDING ME!!!" :X
it's not fake! i wasn't there to see it but, i live an hour away from where it happened and i was outside and there was a really big storm! there was a flash of lightning and a really loud thunderclap, just when then thunderclap was ending it started pouring rain heavily, just like that! and my two cousins were there when it was happening, so they know that it really happened! just glad they were safe! :)
i live near wonderland and vaughan mills i saw one that didnt touch down from my backyard and i was like " LETS GET THE FUCK INTO THE CANTINAA(cellar)
because we dont see things like that everyday and to witness something that nature can create like is amazing ..... that is way it was AWESOME and for a earth and atmospheric science major that was pretty AWESOME :D
Maybe the GTA (which doesn't mean much BTW), but certainly not Ontario. Tornadoes happen here and always have. It has nothing to do with "global warming".
lol "Call CityPulse! Citypulse! Call CityPulse!" lol and "Ho-ly-CRAP!!"
Yeah i remember that. I'm down here in Whitby and I was sitting in my basement, and when I heard about the tornado in Vaughan and I was like "NOT WONDERLAND!" Then I turned on the TV at like 3 am and there was footage on local channels of this, and I was like "HOLY CRAP I WAS JUST THERE! AND WONDERLAND" lol that was a weird night!
well i dont remember any tornado but i remember one evening in the summer the wind was so bad i thought the door was gonna blow off! the next day i found out that a TORNADO hit here and then it all made sense...
i wasnt in Vaughan at the time...feel sry for the ppl who had to deal with the tornado!!
I was at my friends cottage for one week from august 17th to the 24th or 23rd.... It hit the lake we were staying at.... 4 cottages got ripped apart, there were tree's EVERYWHERE in the water and on the hills, and so me and my friend the day after (cause it happend sometime from 5-10 pm) went out on a boat togo check it out and i got some WICKED pictures with my camera, il make a slideshow of the damage
i was there at a camp an hour away and we it was safe to go back we wacthed this video the guy took. we had to stay in the pool house because it was the only place that was made out of bricks
This tornado was real! My house is gone because of it! I almost lost my life! I don't have 60% of my stuff! Look it up! 39 Burnhaven Avenue! Type that in on Google! See the Vaughn Citizen Article! Comment back! By the way, for PassionateGoth, idiot!
If this tornado is fake, the guy who made it should be hired for his great special effects that make it look so real. I'm a storm chaser and I can guarantee you this tornado is real. I know some people say it's fake just to get an argument started, but I know others really believe what they are seeing is fake. This twister is not fake. It really happened. Ask the people who had to put powerlines back up, and the people who cleaned up the debris from the damage this thing caused.
I have never heard of a tornado in Toronto i hope they issued the tornado warning in time before it hit we have them all the time in the Tennessee USA we had warning of the F-2 tornado 3 years ago.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about that footage just didn't seem right. Well, first thing's first how are folks able to still drive around when something that big has touched down? There seems to be no wind gust at all. Don't you think that torado would have picked up more debri than a rooftop? Last thing, folks are way too calm. People are still walking around and driving about like nothing is going on. Anyway, this is just my opinion.
its psychology, this is definitely real, it was all over the news, even wonderland shut down.
the reason why people were driving around is because a tornado is not a regular occurance in vaughn...so they didnt know how to react to be honest. it was also only an f2, not strong enough to destroy that much. To top it off, were used to seeing images of tornados that are black, full of dust and usually from empty fields, so they cloud of tornado was very white, because it was a wet day and not dry.
They didn't know what the heck that big honker was, I mean, we haven't had a tornado here in washington since... the 50's?
And, we'd be still driving around... And, calmness is the best thing to do in a emergency. If you're screaming like AHH!!!! Your blood gets quite pumped up.
that lady that keeps saying OMGOMGOGMOGMG shes so scared but she even fits in "ur taking a video"? lol srry found that funny:P
yeahh thats pretty freaky eh? haa i was so scared when tht happend i wouldnt no what to do if it came to my house lol. probly run to the basement and cry LOL :p
I was hanging with my friend down in Orillia here, and we just heard of all of the craazy tornados touching down around us, and then we had onee like 5 minutes later!! Soooo scarrryy :P

It was all over the news in Canada. It's not fake.
MeanGene79 2 years ago

Something about that video seems fake, sorry.
PassionateGoth 2 years ago
If you can't specify what you find fake about it, then I think you are just talking smack...sorry.
joonxXxbug 2 years ago 2
I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about that footage just didn't seem right. Well, first thing's first how are folks able to still drive around when something that big has touched down? There seems to be no wind gust at all. Don't you think that torado would have picked up more debri than a rooftop? Last thing, folks are way too calm. People are still walking around and driving about like nothing is going on. Anyway, this is just my opinion.
PassionateGoth 2 years ago
Your opinion contradicts fact. Look up the tornado that happened in Vaughan, Ontario last month. It was very real and there was more than one.
joonxXxbug 2 years ago 2
its psychology, this is definitely real, it was all over the news, even wonderland shut down.
the reason why people were driving around is because a tornado is not a regular occurance in vaughn...so they didnt know how to react to be honest. it was also only an f2, not strong enough to destroy that much. To top it off, were used to seeing images of tornados that are black, full of dust and usually from empty fields, so they cloud of tornado was very white, because it was a wet day and not dry.
mavsexiboi 2 years ago
They didn't know what the heck that big honker was, I mean, we haven't had a tornado here in washington since... the 50's?
And, we'd be still driving around... And, calmness is the best thing to do in a emergency. If you're screaming like AHH!!!! Your blood gets quite pumped up.
