can anyone help me here, ok im training, and i have progressed, and my muscles are expanding. i am currently taking maxi muscle cyclone and usn pure protien. will these make me gain weight , or grow muscle ? keep in mind i do cardio too

It's a very complex subject but to lose weight, you need to be burning more calories then you are taking in. For muscle growth you have to make sure you are eating enough of the right foods (whole meal gains, and other non-processed foods) for your body to be able to use it to grow.
Scott , I have a real question for you. I would like to know if you do any cardio if so how much? I would like to put some weight and decided to follow your workouts for three month to see if I can get my weight up. but I'm worried that doing cardio will burn away any extra muscle that I put on. Should I do cardio of will my extra muscle be enough to burn away the lingering fat??
@Rayrockny scott does cardio ~ once a week, ~7 mile run on like a sunday. In general, he always does ~15,20min cardio run before he does his weight lifting so that he can get his heart rate up to a fat-burning zone. In general, he does very little cardio, but he does eat right and he works his muscle groups so that it tares through his fat.
In the long run , this is great. In the shorter run, if you do have time, you can spend time doing cardio each day and that will assist in fat burning.
I just jog for a few minutes or bike to get the blood flowing. It makes hitting the weights easier imo. and they can spot reduce fat now, they suck it up into a big tube thingy, freeze the fat cells which then die off and flush out..saw it on dr. oz the other day lol..but its a gay show..or was it another? but id rather just jog

Hey Scott, I used to be pretty lean and when i would sit down my abs were still visible like how yours are when you sit down, I've gained a little bit of fat over my abs now though and I've been doing crunches and I don't do cardio. Will the crunches get rid of most of this body fat in time then? Or should i incorporate some cardio into my workout? Thanks!
@frogstomp91 Doing crunches alone doesn't burn fat... The only way to lose fat is to maintain a healthy diet and to do cardio, 20 minutes minimum per day.

the thing about spoting places you want to burn fat hes right you cant, fat comes off where its put on last so if you load fat ass, thighs stomach, it will come off stomach thighs ass. but we all know theres fat marbled into muscle look at steak, the fat in there burns as well but it can actually somewhat spot burn by when you initially start to work a muscle your body will take energy from the fat in lets say your tricep it wont take straight from the stomach but thats not like a major thing.
@raginghell14 actually everyone has that ripped ab look otherwise we would all be floppy and couldn't stand up sraight, its just under the fat that most people get around their stomach, when you do ab workouts its mainly to strengthen your back

Scott. I've heard that without Cardio is almost impossible to lose Fat. According to what you have said here, Cardio is a tool. I have been going to the Gym and doing 10 minutes of warm up Cardio, then my weight training for 45 minutes and then 20 more minutes of Cardio. Its that ok? and I am doing Interval Training. I just want to make sure I am not messing up my muscle resutls. Thanks for the great imput on your videos.
I read short sprints (not necessarily your FULL speed, maybe 7-8.5mph) really warms up your abs, because your core is moving so much. I have found it works quite well, I suggest you try it..don't wear yourself out too much still gotta do ab workouts
@freakthug16 you should do them he probably doesnt want you to focus on them too much because you need to loose the fat before its actually visible but the results are the same with or with out fat, you might not see them with fat and get unmotivated, thats probably why he tells you not to. If that help :)
yes dunce - there is no point in waiting till the fat is gone. Do your cardio which burns fat AND do your weights - unless you are very overweight - which should render a high cardio workout first to get your %fat down

@Louis2092009 Definately after. Doing cardio immediately after weight training has been scientifically shown to burn more body fat. Also, when you do a hard cardio before you lift you tend to be tired during your workout, which keeps you from getting a good, hard workout in :-)

@wdfsammy Weightlifting and cardio is your answer. Especially weightlifting will help you build muscle mass and help you tighten those flabby skin. But are you sure you lost 60 pounds naturally? 'cuz if you did, I reckon your body would have adjusted to your new weight + frame. How long did it take you lose 60 pounds?? in reality it would have taken you 20-30 weeks to eliminate yo-yo effect.

scott im gonna have to disagree with what you said about doing crunches alone to get abs. there is no way a fat man can get visible abs without doing diet, cardio and crunches. only way to get abs for fat people is to do cardio before the crunches because it sheds the fat off your stomach and 80% of it is diet. if you do crunches alone without cardio or diet, it is doing nothing but making your stomach thicker instead the person will just have a big air bubble on their stomach with a 1 pack.

My goal is to get ripped but I don't have a high protein or low carb diet, but I do half an hour of Cardio everyday after my usual weight lifting workout because I enjoy and I know that there are many health benefits to it. So can I get ripped by doing cardio everyday or will I just keep on burning muscle mass and not get some size if I keep on doing as much cardio as I am doing right now ?
I actually read that cardio es best done after your workout. Because after your workout your glycogen levels are low so you'll be burning fat instead of muscle. But to do a little warmup before you workout to get your heart pumping, that way you get the best from both worlds.
Also one question: I have a friend that's doing cardio and he sees his heart rate is almost near maximum, i know cardio is best done at 60-70% HR but is it better or worse to go so high?
I have a question for you...how do you get definition without getting too buff. Im a girl, and a college athlete and do a lot of strength training. But i have a tendancy to gain ALOT of muscle and get kinda self concious about how big my arms get when i lift too much haha

I have a question that I'd like to ask.
My goal is to get ripped but I don't have a high protein or low carb diet, but I do half an hour of Cardio everyday after my usual weight lifting workout because I enjoy and I know that there are many health benefits to it. So can I get ripped by doing cardio everyday or will I just keep on burning muscle mass and not get some size if I keep on doing as much cardio as I am doing right now ?

I actually read that cardio es best done after your workout. Because after your workout your glycogen levels are low so you'll be burning fat instead of muscle. But to do a little warmup before you workout to get your heart pumping, that way you get the best from both worlds.
Also one question: I have a friend that's doing cardio and he sees his heart rate is almost near maximum, i know cardio is best done at 60-70% HR but is it better or worse to go so high?

I have a question for you...how do you get definition without getting too buff. Im a girl, and a college athlete and do a lot of strength training. But i have a tendancy to gain ALOT of muscle and get kinda self concious about how big my arms get when i lift too much haha

I started going to the gym last week and was wondering the same thing. It will take me much longer but eh I can't change sexes ha. Thank for clearing that up.

thanks scott, ill give that a shot. and sorry if that was like a dumb question, i just remember my buddy telling me something on the lines of crunches are ineffective unless you lose the fat around the stomach
