  • WHATTTT!? imagine if they did an IllMatic 2012. all the same people, new project

  • this is a great interview, wasnt expecting it to be that insightful.

  • This is nice

  • Great interview ! My two top favorite producers ! Mt Rushmore of producers.

  • Real Inspiring Interview from 2 of the OGs in Hip Hop

  • I love this! These guys are like best friends, and they obviously have a ton of respect for each others work! No hate, just classic beats!

  • This is definitely a great interview!!! A history lesson for everyone!!!

  • Awesome interview (video now saved in my favorites)

  • sad*

  • said that someone who knows so little about these two's work gets to interview them

  • i ran all the way to the store to get come clean!!!!

  • great! would love to see the rest though

  • Man this is the 5th or 6th time ive watched this...Best upload on youtube....

  • @RealHipHopEire32

This is the best Hip Hop interview that I have seen.It probably took place over seas.Because abroad they are more detailed & studious as to the actual culture than we are here in the states. If you notice the necessary albums were presented to both men to elaborate on.

  • PREMO IS MOST GIFTED DJ I EVER HEARD OF...

  • I am currently watching this video in 2012 and it's been a year since this video has been uploaded. January 3rd, 2011. I didn't even know until I saw the date.

  • When these guys are gone, I wonder if mpcs would still be the bench mark of drum machines for hiphop producers. Damu the Fudgemunk is holding his own yet this approach is slowly becoming a dying breed. 9th Wonder is already known as a fruityloops producer. People seem to think if you have an mpc you can make beats with the same substance as these guys. 9th already is evidence you actually don't need a physical drum machine and still be relevant. Top cats are now onto maschine and reason.

  • @DanArmaniBeats 9th has MPC2500. His earlier production was made with JUST FL Studio but then he got 2k5 and I think he used FL with MPC.

  • All that's missing is Dilla

  • I love hearing about the behind the scenes details. It only adds to my personal memories of the music. These are two true pioneers right here. Long live TRUE Hip Hop!

  • The stories that DJ Premier talks about makes you have a CLEAR VISION of what he's explaining. Jesus Christ. Rest in Peace Big L.

  • Man. DJ Premier should of made more appearances on the Crooklyn Dodgers Music Video. He's responsible for making the SONG HOT.

  • 026:43 PRICELESS!!

  • You're doing a Good Job SnaresAllDay. Salute yo.

  • Two Legends, right there, the real hip hop

  • thanks for the upload man this was so enjoyable to watch i love these guys and hearing everything they have to say, its inspiring. i love hip hop!

  • What can I say! This is HIP HOP, lisn and learn.

  • for all who dont know Lord Finesse is responsible for this "frozen pizza and kool aid" so many people are fond of nowadays

  • they brag about a kids that can create symphonies in their head, these guys helped make a whole new genre and did it right the first time.

  • 26:38 lmao !

  • It's Funny that @ 49:12 Pete Rock mentions that Q-Tip didn't do a swap with him, but Tip did give Pete a verse for the INI song called "To Each His Own" on the "Center of Attention" album, eventhough it wasn't released in 1995, he still gave a verse, Anyway, I Luv Pete, I Luv Premier, 2 dudes that made me love that Hip Hop Sound.

    Ayo where's Part 2 lol

  • PETE IS HIIIIGH AS FUCK ..LOOOL

  • This was brilliant. My two favourite living Hip-Hop producers. And I love the mutual respect they show towards each other. Peace, love, and dope beats!

  • Didn't plan on watching the whole thing cos the time was late but it was too interesting not to!!

  • who are these 2???? never heard of them...make they beats???

just kidding great interview, saw it when it came out

  • great interview good to know how the master pieces was produced back then..

  • (GASPS) 051:40 (EYES WIDE OPEN) (SMILING) (LAUGHING)

  • i wish this was longer these two are my favorite producers went by too fast lol loved the whole conversation

  • i watched it..and i was like is there a part 2..an hr went by soo fast cos it was freakin interesting..loved it

  • The Hip Hop is dead but this 2 niggaz can revive it with one solo track

    2 Livin´ Legends

  • damn why did it have to end?

  • Damn Q-Tip and Puff Daddy both did Pete Rock wrong! It's all good thought, Pete already knows he's the man! haha,

Also, funny but sad story about L... Premier was hittin the skins haha.

No disrespect, RIP BIG L & GURU AND TO ALL OUR LOVED ONES WHO HAVE PASSED.

    Positive Energy Activates Constant Elevation

  • Wow this came out in japan.I thought they didn't like Americans like that let alone black ones

  • @bandicoot2ps1 japan has some avid hiphop heads, believe me, how do you think they embrace nujabes? why you think pharrell is always there? premier also has shows there.

  • @bandicoot2ps1 Also, Guru did one of his LAST tracks with a japanese group Cradle Orchestra, Its called You Got To Luv. CL Smooth also did a track with nujabes called the sky is falling.

  • dope interview

  • I wanna hear a little more from them about Large Professor. I feel like he needs to be on that Nas thing theyre talking about too. Wheres the love for Large Pro?

  • @TCRos15 Pete gave Large Pro. a shout out over the "Reminisce over you" beat a huge compliment!

  • Def Jam is fucking nas over they wont let him do lost tapes 2 and they are probably the reason he hasn't made his album with premo fuck def jam

  • Nas go kill yourself. It hurts to say that to my favorite rapper but what the hell is the matter with you? Nas the Best Producers In Rap History On Standby dying to make an album with you what the FUCK is the matter with you? If I could write a letter to Nas it would be like

  • Dear Nas,

You as a legend in the rap community have been putting out classics for you listeners and even though you were mainstream you kept it real all the time. Right now is the time we need you the most with we need lyrics again. We need you to get back into mainstream and drop a classic let the world know who is the best not Lil Wayne, not Waka Flocka, not Soulja Boy it's YOU! We need Nas so I can put on my radio again and hear something worth listening to. Do it before it's too late.

  • what's the name of the song playin @ 0:59:53 ?

  • I LOVE THESE DUDES!! They have made and continue to make GREAT contributions to the culture of HIP HOP!! LOVE THEM!!

  • Thanx for posting, Two legends, Premier and pete rock..

  • T.R.O.Y is one of the greatest beats ever made, The Main Ingredient is one of the greatest albums for beats ever made, no question. It's no suprise these guys crafted the 2 finest instrumentals on the Illmatic classic. It would've been interesting if they'd have compared their Das EFX beatwork. I personally think Pete Rock got one up on Premier on the Real Hip-Hop remix, but much respect to both of these dudes.

  • <<<<<<<<check myy instrumentals

  • it should be documentary bout premo. tupac had and biggie so why not him?
