I am 100% sure that the Casico tracks are him. If you are a real fan, you know that he has a long range of voices. I also seriously doubt that Sony would risk a multi-billion dollar industry over ONE C-D.

Your instincts were right. This song (and ALL the songs provided by the backstabbing Cascio family incl. Monster, Keep Your Head Up, All I Need, Stay, Soldier Boy, Water, Burn 2Night etc) are not Michael. Sony is doing everything in their power to keep fans from exposing this. So much so that Sony recently demanded the life banning of several members from a MJ fan site found and served them with cease & desist orders. The members found & shared evidence why this is in fact NOT Michael Jackson.
It's not Michael Jackson and like u say, the truth will prevail. Michael had NO interest in singing about the media.. ask those who he collaborated with most recently. Neff U, will.i.am, Akon, Ne-yo. The recurring message from these guys was that Michael was dialing it BACK to what made people fall in love with him in the first place; great melodies and joyous music. ALL these producers will testify that Michael was NOT singing (or writing for that matter) about the negatives or the media.
Breaking News is not Michael. The noisiest songs on that CD are not Michael and the rest possibly a mix. Have listened to the less noisy ones all the way through.
@Angranity Agreed. It's not Michael. The whole CD is a train wreck. I remember listening to 7even with a screwed up confused face (before I knew it was Jason) wondering who in the world it was and why it was even taking place to begin with-no such copyright in Michael's name either. Eventually Jason had the songs from 7even on his page as his own, if I recall. Regardless of whether or not Jason's page was hacked whomever wrote that it's Jason's vocals on CD -it's the truth.
I saw on a website saying that his father Joseph Jackson, and his children Paris and Prince claim that it's not always his singing voice. But I have no idea until I find out, apparently Oprah is going to do an interview or something, but I'm not so sure.. Anyway, thanks so much.

I think it is Michael. Why would Sony release fake songs when they have so many unreleased real songs? If people found out they were fake, they wouldn't want to buy it. So it would be pointless to sell fakes! I think on tracks like Breaking News, it was simply overproduced. Plus MJ's voice changed as he aged. During Off the Wall and Thriller, his voice was high and very beautiful. The older he became, the deeper and raspier his voice became. It was still beautiful, but in a different way.

@Sandfirestar The unreleased songs - I'm sure Michael wrote many. He probably didn't have music to many and certainly didn't record them all. One of the songs on the cd is from 20 years ago. They didn't have enough material for 1 CD, never mind enough material for future CD. It's not pointless to sell fakes if you can convince people that it's Michael. Money.

My fave songs on it are Behind The Mask and Best Of Joy.
@freebizy That sounds really fishy to me that he would re-work the song so close to the release date when the deadline for the album has already probably passed. It affects copies and distrubution of the material not just album wise but digitally as well. Why would Teddy feel the need to re-work it if he claims it was 100% MJ? To make it more believable perhaps? Or to gain some credibility and get his behind off the chopping block for the sake of HIS career?

I simply believe if there has been THIS much controversy/arguements/statements/vocal comparisons etc etc etc going on, it can't be Michael. Either that or the whole truth is not being known. Nothing like this ever happened when the song 'This Is It', 'Horse Wtih No Name' or 'Escape' were made known. Sure SONY says the contrary but who is MORE credible? This is why I QUESTIONED IT. Because NO one questioned "Hold My Hand" Or even "Do you know where your children are" We all at once resonated and recognized with MJ's voice. So this war has to speak to some significance.
@volcano83 Well no one in the Jackson family ever questioned those songs, only the Cascio tracks.. maybe that's why. There might be some family issues with the Cascios. MJ spend a lot of time with them and they have always supported MJ (during the trial). Also these Cascio tracks are made in their own studio with different equipment and they themselves worked on the tracks. I don't know what or who to believe..:/
The power of suggestion is great, we must remember that this track was probably a rough vocal guide that Michael could build on at a later date, it wasn't supposed to be heard by anyone other than those in the studio, the vocals are also in a very early state. The vocals on the track are digitally slowed down lowering the pitch, probably to match the key of the new music. I believe most of it is him, when sped up the second verse, is in my opinion unmistakably MJ.
@emrabt I agree with you man! I have said in this video my beLIEf that this is Michael Jackson. It's just a song I wish the worked on more than what they have already. They should have left it as a demo without all of the other affects, now it's absent of the pull that makes me want to listen to it. EVERY TIME I listen to "DO you know where your children are" I have it on repeat, because it has the defined hook that makes it a MJ song!
@DemonstrativeRanD I respect that everyone has their own opinion but i produce music, and i can tell that Do you know where your children are is a demo. Michael's voice is raw in it. It doesn't even blend in with the beat properly, it's unmixed. Breaking news is a well mixed and edited record. If you listen to michael's earlier demos you can tell that michael's voice is michael's voice regardless if it was a vocal guide or a dummy track. There are actually records where michael hums the melody..
@heidelberg2000 I respect your profession. I never disqualified the possibility that the song "Do you know where are your children are" is a demo. I do hear his voice raw. ALSO the full version that was released, may possibly not be finished. It blends pretty well with me. I have heard all of Michael Jackson's demos before. I hear the same melody. I still believe the song to be a great song regardless. If it's a demo or not. This song was leaked so it's a good possibility that the album version
@DemonstrativeRanD my post was a mistake. It's unfinished and wasn't to be sent but i mistakenly hit the post botton instead of cancel. I think we've already had a similar conversation regarding this. I meant to add that there are actually demo records where michael hums the melody instead of words with less effort but they still sound like him though they were squeaky and weren't up to par (Fall again ending). the mixing shud only enhance the quality of the raw vocals and blend it wit da beat.

Im at da point of not caring anymore either. I've been listening to the released version and the acapella version of Breaking News, and Im at a stalemate. In my opinion, if the song was unfinished, they should of just left it that way. It sounds like they tried to piece together the song. In their attempts to do so, it sounds horrible. It doesnt sound like Michael, dats my reason for dissing this song cuz its generic. I've heard alot of unreleased songs dat Michael worked on (like She's Got It)

AEG (through thome) got involved. they had his debts hanging over his head. it was the contract or his life/livelihood. i thin he knew the dangers, but felt he had no choice.

@DemonstrativeRanD i think in many ways he did 'out-think them'. but ultimately, he did not. they got him. when you begin living in fear, they got you. he lived the last years of his life in fear and desperation, no where to turn. he didn't have a lot of support. he stayed up, for his children. he was a really good man, a great father. but looking at him, it was easy to see he was drowning inside. and they exploited his weaknesses.

@DemonstrativeRanD in terms of this album; the fact that no one is speaking out is also very fishy to me... it's just blood relatives. half the fan base already thinks they're crazy, so sony AEG and TMZ are gonna continue to ride this one out, until the jacksons are completely discredited. i don't trust them either, but there is something fishy in the way their claims are being handled. the propaganda machine serves to divide, which is what is happening.
@DemonstrativeRanD i don't take the jacksons' word for anything... i just do my own research and put the puzzle together. i look at all sides, whether or not i agree. this is how i come to a conclusion. and my conclusion is that the sony/AEG machine is going full steam- and winning. all other sources (and i HAVE been searching) have been virtually silenced. you hear no other 'official' opposing views on this, except for the jacksons, more or less. it's kind of odd, if you ask me.

If you listen closely to Teddy's interview, at first he says the vocals is all micheal's, then he tries to be sneaky with the subliminal when talked about the competition with JM and his version not making the cut. He says 'out of a sudden it's not michael's voice' because my version was scrutinized. Listen to that bit closely when he talks about them remixing his version. much love!!!

if katherine and the children don't get the allowance then that is a case for breaking the contract. either way. and you know how sue-happy the jacksons are. all of this is for sony's benefit. this is not benefiting michael at all, because he made the decision to LEAVE sony. the industry no longer works with artists. by 1997, michael was fulfilling a contract. by 2001 he was tired of being a slave. and sony could not lose their biggest commodity. so he had to pay.

@heidelberg2000 michael was an EXCELLENT manipulator. there is no way he'd be where he got if he were not. i read the AEG contracts and this counters everything which is being shown publicly. which is why i take the public stuff with a grain of salt. i study the behind-the scenes stuff more. that speech was just a sign. it was a death contract. he signed his death. and it's pretty easy to tell he didn't even read the contract, if you read it in full.
@heidelberg2000 it's also pretty well known that michael got his people, around the time of 'dangerous' to let the press know that if they are going to do any pieces on him, they must call him the 'K.O.P.'. then they created the myth that elizabeth taylor made that up. michael is a master manipulator. it's pretty amusing. howeer, in 1984 david levinson penned some words for a 'victory' tour book and the words 'king of pop' were there too. so there you go. michael was brilliant at his craft.
michael is another commodity to them. the fact that we are debating the merits of this song means that his voice is a commodity. to me, this is a moral issue. even if all ten songs on that album are a BILLION percent him (which it is not) i STRILL would not buy it. because it is a moral issue. his kids and mother already are getting an allowance, whether or not sony makes a dime.
@lumbia33 help me explain what the dangerous cover is all about? what is the History video all about? Especially at the scene when the fans do the V for Vendetta style march, to unveil 'The man". This video came out ages before V. Coincidence? Nah. Tell me why in almost every MJ short film, music vidz, or ads, there's always this one eye? It is known that the one eye is able to see the future/ predict events (especially in the case of that history vid). We all know michael's a visionary.
@heidelberg2000 there is a video for HIStory? there was never an official video, as far as i know, so i am confused there... there is the 'brace yourself' clip.. i have never seen 'v for vendetta' either, so i cannot comment. it's pretty well known that michael was obsessed with the concept of power. he was obsessed with the police, and the military. he did not conceal this. in terms of the 'one eye', that is all over media, right down to the federal reserve dollar.
@heidelberg2000 michael also was fascinated with/obsessed with egyptology... they eye and the pyramid can be found there. these were the original masons. i know someone who worked in a bookshop in cali, and michael would purchase stacks of books on egyptology every six months. the 'one eye', from my vantage point had nothing to do with being a visionary. it was about 'the ones who held secrets'- the illuminated ones. michael was about the symbolisms of power. he had no qualms about that.
it's well known that sony was looking for michael to default on his loans. sony played dirty, and pulled out on promotions of 'invincible', when michael was looking to end his contract. then came the lawsuit between michael and mottola/branca. it was NOT smart of michael to borrow against himself, and ESPECIALLY through sony, but he did. and they hung that over his head, and demanded MiJac and ATV. and now we see the remnants of that. and the fan base is being used.
and even with THAT fact, i am not financially supporting this corporation. michael's contract with sony ended some years ago- people mention 'thriller 25'. we all know that michael borrowed money from sony, and ATV was collateral. it is entirely possible that 'thriller 25' was a deal made in order to pay back those loans owed to sony, so he would not give up ATV, and NOT part of a contract. being that 'thriller' still sells to this day, that is an entirely smart move.
and i just want to state again, that a critical look at (and questioning of) something does not define or require hatred. this song, album- and sony and AEG's intentions- it's all a distraction to make money, and forget that there's a possibility of them being involved in the murder of a lucrative venture. the battles people are having over this song are an ultimate distraction. whether or not this song is a fake, it does not discount michael's relationship with sony.

Michael never did those kind of rushed vibrattos in the verses, only Jason Malachi did and that's exactly what I'm hearing in Breaking News. okay... so i am listening to a STRAIGHT UP comparison right now, and whomever is singing 'breaking the news' is totally thin. when michael sings, there is a warmness, a deepness that is not even felt on this fake song. even when michael is phoning it in (and he DOES do that sometimes), he sounds full. his timbre fills the room. the other guy kind of sounds like george michael, listening to both of them together. i sent you the video i'm talking about. dude is working too hard.
if this is a hoax i will be stood corrected... but i just see heads of several organizations putting money behind silencing a lot of important factors in this case. it's nothing new. tupac, william cooper, jimi hendrix. all murdered by organizations, and it was said they were either suicide cases, or... they can't find the killer. or, they are still alive. there is clear evidence which states difference. sony fuel the fire, and they will continue to, by doing all this, distractions.
notice how the case is not being followed up, and extended... this pattern is common in a lot of cases where the government murders individuals. where they can't find the killer, OR state it was suicide... i see the same patterns in michael's case. the patterns are just too much, in relation to other cases. also, check for oxman, mottolla; all these people who were fired/suspended... there's a pattern. sony puts up a lot of money to distract. look at the gray areas.

Most of the time yes, byt if the average listener heard 2000 watts they would not suggest that to be MJ until they heard his signature hiccups, & hoo's. The song is pretty funny to me though! @DemonstrativeRanD i know for me, 2000 watts (a song i actually don't like at all; it DID NOT need to be on that phenomenal album) was indeed him. i am not sure why people think that is not him. it's all in nuance, cadence... '2000 watts' is actually closer to his speaking voice than most songs. it's already been confirmed by riggs, etc. that the public voice was for effect. he's also spoken with a deep voice, on tape, numerous times. it's his voice done with effects.

Your instincts were right. This song (and ALL the songs provided by the backstabbing Cascio family incl. Monster, Keep Your Head Up, All I Need, Stay, Soldier Boy, Water, Burn 2Night etc) are not Michael. Sony is doing everything in their power to keep fans from exposing this. So much so that Sony recently demanded the life banning of several members from a MJ fan site found and served them with cease & desist orders. The members found & shared evidence why this is in fact NOT Michael Jackson.

It's not Michael Jackson and like u say, the truth will prevail. Michael had NO interest in singing about the media.. ask those who he collaborated with most recently. Neff U, will.i.am, Akon, Ne-yo. The recurring message from these guys was that Michael was dialing it BACK to what made people fall in love with him in the first place; great melodies and joyous music. ALL these producers will testify that Michael was NOT singing (or writing for that matter) about the negatives or the media.

@Angranity Agreed. It's not Michael. The whole CD is a train wreck. I remember listening to 7even with a screwed up confused face (before I knew it was Jason) wondering who in the world it was and why it was even taking place to begin with-no such copyright in Michael's name either. Eventually Jason had the songs from 7even on his page as his own, if I recall. Regardless of whether or not Jason's page was hacked whomever wrote that it's Jason's vocals on CD -it's the truth.

I think it is Michael. Why would Sony release fake songs when they have so many unreleased real songs? If people found out they were fake, they wouldn't want to buy it. So it would be pointless to sell fakes! I think on tracks like Breaking News, it was simply overproduced. Plus MJ's voice changed as he aged. During Off the Wall and Thriller, his voice was high and very beautiful. The older he became, the deeper and raspier his voice became. It was still beautiful, but in a different way.

@freebizy That sounds really fishy to me that he would re-work the song so close to the release date when the deadline for the album has already probably passed. It affects copies and distrubution of the material not just album wise but digitally as well. Why would Teddy feel the need to re-work it if he claims it was 100% MJ? To make it more believable perhaps? Or to gain some credibility and get his behind off the chopping block for the sake of HIS career?

I simply believe if there has been THIS much controversy/arguements/statements/vocal comparisons etc etc etc going on, it can't be Michael. Either that or the whole truth is not being known. Nothing like this ever happened when the song 'This Is It', 'Horse Wtih No Name' or 'Escape' were made known. @volcano83 Well no one in the Jackson family ever questioned those songs, only the Cascio tracks.. maybe that's why. There might be some family issues with the Cascios. MJ spend a lot of time with them and they have always supported MJ (during the trial). Also these Cascio tracks are made in their own studio with different equipment and they themselves worked on the tracks. I don't know what or who to believe..:/

The power of suggestion is great, we must remember that this track was probably a rough vocal guide that Michael could build on at a later date, it wasn't supposed to be heard by anyone other than those in the studio, the vocals are also in a very early state. The vocals on the track are digitally slowed down lowering the pitch, probably to match the key of the new music. I believe most of it is him, when sped up the second verse, is in my opinion unmistakably MJ.

@emrabt I agree with you man! I have said in this video my beLIEf that this is Michael Jackson. It's just a song I wish the worked on more than what they have already. They should have left it as a demo without all of the other affects, now it's absent of the pull that makes me want to listen to it. EVERY TIME I listen to "DO you know where your children are" I have it on repeat, because it has the defined hook that makes it a MJ song!

@DemonstrativeRanD I respect that everyone has their own opinion but i produce music, and i can tell that Do you know where your children are is a demo. Michael's voice is raw in it. It doesn't even blend in with the beat properly, it's unmixed. Breaking news is a well mixed and edited record. If you listen to michael's earlier demos you can tell that michael's voice is michael's voice regardless if it was a vocal guide or a dummy track. There are actually records where michael hums the melody..

I think we've already had a similar conversation regarding this. I meant to add that there are actually demo records where michael hums the melody instead of words with less effort but they still sound like him though they were squeaky and weren't up to par (Fall again ending). the mixing shud only enhance the quality of the raw vocals and blend it wit da beat.

Its crazy how ppl try to compare this to 2000 Watts. His voice sounds deeper in 2000 Watts. Well I should say I don't listen to what's on the radio. 2000 watts is the closest to MJ's real voice I believe, his voice was deep to me. Im at da point of not caring anymore either. I've been listening to the released version and the acapella version of Breaking News, and Im at a stalemate. In my opinion, if the song was unfinished, they should of just left it that way. It sounds like they tried to piece together the song. In their attempts to do so, it sounds horrible. It doesnt sound like Michael, dats my reason for dissing this song cuz its generic. I've heard alot of unreleased songs dat Michael worked on (like She's Got It)

@DemonstrativeRanD prince is absolutely correct. i do think michael grasped very much what was at stake. i compare him to michael corleone; how he tried to leave but keeps getting pulled back in. that's what happens when you deal with gangsters. neverland being put up for auction was a huge factor. AEG (through thome) got involved. they had his debts hanging over his head. it was the contract or his life/livelihood. i thin he knew the dangers, but felt he had no choice.

exactly!! that's because the album will have Teddy's version with michael's real vocals. If you listen closely to Teddy's interview, at first he says the vocals is all micheal's, then he tries to be sneaky with the subliminal when talked about the competition with JM and his version not making the cut. He says 'out of a sudden it's not michael's voice' because my version was scrutinized. Listen to that bit closely when he talks about them remixing his version. much love!!!

if katherine and the children don't get the allowance then that is a case for breaking the contract. either way. and you know how sue-happy the jacksons are. all of this is for sony's benefit. this is not benefiting michael at all, because he made the decision to LEAVE sony. the industry no longer works with artists. by 1997, michael was fulfilling a contract. by 2001 he was tired of being a slave. and sony could not lose their biggest commodity. so he had to pay.

@heidelberg2000 michael was an EXCELLENT manipulator. there is no way he'd be where he got if he were not. i read the AEG contracts and this counters everything which is being shown publicly. which is why i take the public stuff with a grain of salt. i study the behind-the scenes stuff more. that speech was just a sign. it was a death contract. he signed his death. and it's pretty easy to tell he didn't even read the contract, if you read it in full.

it's well known that sony was looking for michael to default on his loans. sony played dirty, and pulled out on promotions of 'invincible', when michael was looking to end his contract. then came the lawsuit between michael and mottola/branca. it was NOT smart of michael to borrow against himself, and ESPECIALLY through sony, but he did. and they hung that over his head, and demanded MiJac and ATV. and now we see the remnants of that. and the fan base is being used.

and even with THAT fact, i am not financially supporting this corporation. michael's contract with sony ended some years ago- people mention 'thriller 25'. we all know that michael borrowed money from sony, and ATV was collateral. it is entirely possible that 'thriller 25' was a deal made in order to pay back those loans owed to sony, so he would not give up ATV, and NOT part of a contract. being that 'thriller' still sells to this day, that is an entirely smart move.

and i just want to state again, that a critical look at (and questioning of) something does not define or require hatred. this song, album- and sony and AEG's intentions- it's all a distraction to make money, and forget that there's a possibility of them being involved in the murder of a lucrative venture. the battles people are having over this song are an ultimate distraction. whether or not this song is a fake, it does not discount michael's relationship with sony.

You're awesome man. No matter what anyone says, I still believe it's Jason Malachi. Michael never did those kind of rushed vibrattos in the verses, only Jason Malachi did and that's exactly what I'm hearing in Breaking News. I know the difference between MJ and Malachi and I'm certain I'm hearing Malachi on Breaking News. I've loved MJ my whole life and I'm trying to defend him, not discredit him. Peace.

@DemonstrativeRanD If you listen to the interview with teddy riley, when he says it's michael, he meant the tune. he avoided elaborating on it. He also talked about JM, and how the original version was messed with because it was his version. Listen when he talks about the voice. listen closely. he's being really smart with his choice of words. What he's basically trying to tell the fans is that the song was once written and recorded by michael but this version is not his. It's JM's, get it?

hi there Jesse I'm just wondering have you tried putting Breaking News through an audio pitcher and turning the tone up at least a semitone or a tone higher? I did that and can definetely say it sounded more like Michael so if you can download an audio pitcher if you don't have one and try that

It does sound like MJ when you put it through this audio pitcher.It's not as fuzzed out at all! I have very opened my mind to the fact that this does sound like MJ, the mixing is just bad to me, It's one song I don't favor from Michael Jackson because it sounds so similar to what artists are doing now. no joke- listening to that video reminds me of the 'stark raving dad' simpsons episode, when kipp lennon was supposed to be michael. and people got confused if that was him too. i am listening to this over and over as i am typing this. and i am so clear about which one is fake and which one is not. you just see the warmness alternating with coldness. the video has me rolling. okay... so i am listening to a STRAIGHT UP comparison right now, and whomever is singing 'breaking the news' is totally thin. when michael sings, there is a warmness, a deepness that is not even felt on this fake song. even when michael is phoning it in (and he DOES do that sometimes), he sounds full. his timbre fills the room. the other guy kind of sounds like george michael, listening to both of them together. i sent you the video i'm talking about. dude is working too hard.

if this is a hoax i will be stood corrected... but i just see heads of several organizations putting money behind silencing a lot of important factors in this case. it's nothing new. tupac, william cooper, jimi hendrix. all murdered by organizations, and it was said they were either suicide cases, or... they can't find the killer. or, they are still alive. there is clear evidence which states difference. sony fuel the fire, and they will continue to, by doing all this, distractions.

notice how the case is not being followed up, and extended... this pattern is common in a lot of cases where the government murders individuals. where they can't find the killer, OR state it was suicide... i see the same patterns in michael's case. the patterns are just too much, in relation to other cases. also, check for oxman, mottolla; all these people who were fired/suspended... there's a pattern. sony puts up a lot of money to distract. look at the gray areas.

You guys aren't thinking. If Teddy Riley is in on the hoax, what do you expect he'll say. Ofcourse he's going to say it's MJ cuz that's what michael wants: Confusion/controversy. He knows the fans recognizes his real voice and vocal range. This is all a test to see if the fans are really fans and a bigger clue to the hoax. Watch how much controversy this will stir, and how it'll keep michael's name in the news.

@heidelberg2000 Even a three hear could tell that those verses weren't sung by michael. you could tell from the way this dude says michael jackson, and the fact that he says it all the time, that's the point of the whole irony, and it's really funny too. and the way he pronounces certain words is so not michael. Michael's articulate. Listen to the thriller re-release, the tracks he recorded with Akon and Will.i.am, and then listen this. Michael's voice is so recognizable even if he alters it

@heidelberg2000 something we have to consider, but I am not going to be blinded to the fact that they're other perspectives. I have to disagree in that MJ's voices is recognizable ALL the time. Most of the time yes, byt if the average listener heard 2000 watts they would not suggest that to be MJ until they heard his signature hiccups, & hoo's. The song is pretty funny to me though! MJ has a lot control with his voice. I just can't wait for the future! I am awaiting the full version of the song

@DemonstrativeRanD i know for me, 2000 watts (a song i actually don't like at all; it DID NOT need to be on that phenomenal album) was indeed him. i am not sure why people think that is not him. it's all in nuance, cadence... '2000 watts' is actually closer to his speaking voice than most songs. it's already been confirmed by riggs, etc. that the public voice was for effect. he's also spoken with a deep voice, on tape, numerous times. it's his voice done with effects.

What's even worse is If you listen to the acapella two or three times, you even notice that it's all him, not michael, considering the fact that i thought the samples were michael's at first. . But the reason why i'm leaning to the hoax in MJ's case is the fact that the family keep pointing fingers but won't get down to the bottom of the situation? it looks like they're not taking it hardly/ or seriously.
