This is pretty cool. After reading up on this band and their work/stance on copyrights, and as a person who makes music/sound compositions... Sampling is fine. Just means you respect/like the artist's work/sound you're using to get your point across. Copyrights are good for artists because they can own their work and register proof of final published product. The only time an artist should sue is when someone blatantly copies your song note for note and tries to make a profit from your work.

I am pretty sure they simply wanted to make the man on the phone (Greg Ginn of SST, I'm fairly certain, correct me if I'm wrong) appear foolish by transforming him into a cartoon mermaid. I think absurdity and mockery, rather than misogyny, are what's at work here.
