  • i need a real life weight loss buddy too! im exactly like how you described and its very hard to do this by myself. i go out with friends or even eat with family and everyone else is munching on forbidden foods and i just feel so unmotivated and lonely in my goals. if only i can befriend someone that had the same goals/motivation as i do :-/

  • What really helped me is getting informed about nutrients and stuff. You don't want to look at it like 'Oh, I want to eat healthy to look skinnier', you wanna look at it like 'I want to eat healthy to feel good'.

    Because that's what happens when you change your diet, you feel better after a while.

  • fresh spinach doesnt taste like anything, try it in salad. it actually is nicer than normal lettuce.

  • a while ago, i was a chubby kid, so i did Special K cereal in the morning, and like smaller lunches, and half protionized dinners, and i lost 2 pounds a week. now i have diabeties and am forced to eat healthier, Whole Foods is my best friend :)

  • Not even kidding and I'm about to sound like a middle aged lady, but I do Zumba as a workout... Lost like 10 pounds in a month. My aunt lost 40, my mom lost 25 and my grandma lost 15. It sounds so lane but it works really well. Also, congrats on a healthy goal, even though you're already drop dead gorgeous =]

  • Sugar free Dove Chocolates!!!!!! They are Awesome!!!!!! I just had bariatric surgery and I cant have sugar anymore. The Dove chocolates are awesome!!!! and the 100 calorie packs and all the diet ice cream is awesome. skinny cow and the weight watchers are awesome!! they dont even taste diet! I hope this helps you leesha. you are beautiaful and dont need to loose weight but i completly understand wanting to.

  • i started dieting two weeks ago and have lost almost 10 pounds already (yay!). i'm huge on sweets so i knew i couldn't cut it out of my diet entirely. what i've been doing is having more fruits and glasses of water with my meals to fill myself since i'm taking smaller portions. as for snacks? i still have them - just smaller portions and not as often. it took me four days to finish one normal bag of m&ms. this has been working so great. i wish you and your boyfriend the best too! good luck!

  • Leesha!! Have you ever tried dr. Ozs fruit smoothie? It's sooo good for you, and tastes amazing. You could always put vitamins or the wheatgrass in something like that, to conceal the taste.

Breast Cancer, Lymphoma, and Pancreatic cancer are all caused by a mutation in DNA cells. We also don't know what causes most Cancers. Vitamin Deficiency? Perhaps, but it's not likely... the usual factors are age, ethnicity, and family history of the disease. Don't be such a fool and act so cocky, I've done my research. Asshole.

  • @GrimmReaperess Okay sure ya do. Because we are constantly pumping money into breast cancer research yet no cures are turning up. Once you find out you have cancer, they automatically tell you to go through chemo therapy. And if you were to do your research you would find out that chemo therapy is only effective for 3 different types of cancers. For everyone else who does not have those types of cancers, they go through unnessasary suffering and death.

  • I gave up eating McDonald's in October, which was actually really beneficial for me in more ways than one. I've been in a MUCH better mood overall in the past few months, and after doing a little research on their nutrition facts, and the nutrition in other foods, I actually wrote one of my final papers on false advertisement and its impact in America for college....earned me a B+ and 3 credits. Homecooked meals ftw! :D

  • Telling someone to eat healty food is easy, but if they don't want to eat it, they aren't going to. Like if someone is craving chocolate, it's best they eat the mini oreos then try to scarf down a head of lettuce. You just won't be satisfied. Calories in calories out. 300cal of burger is the same as 300cal of apples.

    I'd love to eat more healthy foods and I've tried many times to buy veggies and shove them into my diet, but man, sometimes I just want my damn chocolate bar!

  • i actually have to disagree with dazzledash when it comes to their comment, at least about portion size. i really believe that portion size is a huge factor in people gaining weight. people just dont realize that the large amounts of food they are eating is not NORMAL. even if you eat healthy food, you have to do so in the correct portion sizes otherwise you will still gain weight. portion control is key

  • Don't spend money on the gym, go to bodyrock.tv (charliejames1975 here on YouTube), it's completely free, no catch, you don't even have to give your email anywhere. High Intensity Interval Training is the best way to go to build muscle and burn fat, I used to do about three hours of slow cardio + toning every day, now I do about 45 minutes (including warm up and cool down) a day and I've had far better results in the nine months I've been exclusively following this site.

  • I do the same thing... get smaller pieces of everything. I always cut my food into little pieces or take little bites so it takes longer to eat and I feel like I'm getting more. I have a horrible sweet tooth as well. Good luck :) (my younger sister and I are big fans of yours)

  • A few months ago I started to diet and I too ate A LOT of sweets, chocolate etc. I went for a different approach and cut them out completely. At first it was hard but after a few months I didn't even want to eat the foods I used to crave. I found the best way was to replace them with healthier options. Eventually my body got used to the healthier foods and now I don't even like chocolate or sweets. The mini thing wouldn't work for me, because I'd just eat lots of the mini snacks!

  • im actually studying to be a dietitian so i commend you on trying to get into better shape and eating healthier. however, i do want to stress the importantceof having a healthy body more than wanting to be a specific weight. sometimes we put these numbers in our heads that really just aren't necessarily realistic or even healthy. hopefully your goal is a healthy and attainable one. good luck!

  • Try adding vegan stock to your spinach and kale, it actually makes it taste nice - same with any other vegetable you don't like!! Get the marigold stock!

  • You could always just have fresh fruit smoothies and add in one handful of spinach leaves. Thats what i do and you can't taste the greens. My fave is banana and strawberry with spinach.

  • Hey just a small piece of advice...you're not fat or big or chunky in any way. You look GREAT..and its awesome you want to shed some extra pounds. But 15 will be a lot for you. I say this because while losing weight you're going to gain muscle from working out and it weighs more that fat. Therefore, if you lose 5 lbs..it might look like you lost 10. Ya know? Just something to keep in mind. :-) Maybe have more of a "this is how I want to look" or "these are the jeans I want to fit into"?? :-)

  • You mentioned Hungry Girl! I love them so much! My friend got me into them and they have so many good tips and cheats on little ways to lose weight. I lost 35 lbs exercises and incorporating some of their tips as well as switching to more whole foods. I gained back 8 of those pounds this winter though that I'm working to get off before my cali trip in March >___<

  • Minimize juice and soda. Yes even juice and teas there's soooo much sugar in this you'd be surprised that some are as sugary as sodas are I dropped 8 pounds in 2 weeks for my fight when I did this and it helped me gain muscle (not enough to make me gross buff though lol just about 5 pounds over the last month) and I like that cleansing idea mentioned below me :) if you do that tell us what you do by day so we can follow you

  • hey Lesha, have you considered doing the MASTER CLEANSE? if you are pretty healthy you can do it to jump start your weight loss journey. I would suggest doing it for ten days. Once you loose some weight (about 8-10 lbs) the way your body looks will be your motivation to keep the weight off. If you decide to do it, let us know in advance and maybe we can all do it together :) let me know what you think.

  • you should pop a bag of popcorn in the morning and separate it into baggies...

    it's little snacks during the day, and popcorn is so light that it's actually one of the better snacks for you :)

  • Also.. if you don't want to give up sweets/chocolate, I'd suggest having a piece of dark chocolate every now and then. Dark chocolate has some health benefits, while Reeses and Oreos do not.. Unless you were only eating 1 mini piece, the size of it is not really going to matter. It's still very high in fat, sugar, and contains lots of unhealthy ingredients. High quality dark chocolate is always good.. or making low fat brownies from scratch would even be healthier than Reeses and Oreos :)

  • i know a lot of people who will cut out sweets and stuff like that during the week, but then on weekends they allow themselves to have it (a reasonable amount of course). it seems to make it easier, because you're definitely cutting back a lot, but you're not like totally depriving yourself of the things you like. it's whatever works for you, but i thought the idea might help. =)

  • If you are trying to eat better but dont want to cut out sweets I suggest buying to cook book "Deceptively Delicious". Basically, you pureee a ton of different veggies and put it in everything you eat from brownies to cake to bread etc

  • If you're trying to lose weight, I would worry more about WHAT you're eating instead of the portions. "Oreos..cheerios.." have you ever paid attention to the ingredients? Basically... it's best to eat raw, natural, organic foods that haven't been fooled around with by man. If your caveman ancestors ate it... then that's what you should eat. You'll lose weight and feel better without the harmful chemicals that's put into processed food.

  • @DazzleDash Actually, what she's saying is right. I lost 100 lbs in the last 3.5 years through dieting, but I never gave up too much. I gave up some things, but I kept losing more and more weight by just portion control alone. I was still, and am still, eating anything I want, just not gorging. The problem is, what you're doing is already hard, to taking away the food you love ontop of it almost puts you up for more failure because eventually you're GOING BACK. This way theres noway to go back

  • @DazzleDash I kinda agree, But still, it's almost impossible in this world to just live by raw food (anyways, pple that only eat raw food have a lot of deficiency symptoms. just sayin.) And if you eat a ton of raw unprocessed food you'll still gain weight. So the amount of food is at least as important as what you eat

Processed foods are NOT foods. Splenda = pesticide. MSG and aspartame. Rocket feul in baby formula. Ever hear of Monsanto and what they’re doing to farmers? Ever watch Food Inc? Look up "The Beautiful Truth" on here and learn about Dr. Gerson. It's a sad truth but we're all disensitized to it.

It isn't until you introduce the processed foods of western nations that they develop these problems. Cancer is really a vitamin defficiency. The list goes on. Educate yourself. You spend all this time researching makeup. Allocate some time into researching your health.

The children in South America obviously aren't starving to death, but they ARE dying from not receiving the nutrients they need, which is why they're almost an entire 6 INCHES shorter than the South Americans who have immigrated to the US and receive the right nutrition.

I know of an area in South America where they grow their own food and are completely independent, and they are completely healthy. There's a lot of factors of why they could be suffering. But lacking proper nutrition from processed foods is def. not it. Honestly, perhaps their malnutrition is due to the fact that they are in poverty and can't afford clean water and food supplies?   • Try the V8 juice that is fruit tasting. In 1 glass you get your full serving of fruit and vegetables and it tastes like fruit.

  • That's my problem too...I have the biggest sweet tooth! I like how you aren't cutting out everything you like and aren't going crazy about the weight loss. Especially since you look quite tiny to me! But I like how real you are....a lot of gurus just seem...like they're trying too hard to be perfect and talk about how they eat so healthy and exercise all the time and that can just get annoying.   • individually packaged sugar free dark chocolate is great for diets. they aren't that bad for you and eating one will kill your sugar cravings.

  • Kale/Apple Smoothie: 3/4 cup chopped kale, 1 small stalk celery chopped, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup apple juice, 1/2 cup ice, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice. Put in blender and blend until smooth and frothy. 139 cals, 1 g fat, 0 sat fat, 0 cholesterol, 3 g protein. Found this a lot of others today in Feb 11 issue of Real Simple magazine. There's one for spiced pumpkin smoothie, too.  Sounds better than just juicing :)

  • I love the Vita Tops! I'm not crazy about the chocolate ones, they taste kind of chalky to me, but they're still pretty good. I also use to eat Zone Bars ALL the time in middle school, the apple cinnamon type. But, then, by high-school they changed the formula and the taste totally changed, so I'm not too wild about them any more. Best of luck in your weight loss; I'm in the process of losing weight, too, and down approx. 10 lbs. If I can do it, you can, too!!

  • My breakfast daily is a bowl of apple cinnamon oatmeal and a serving of veggie sausage. The brand I get is "Morning Star". The links are my favorite, but the hot and spicy patties are really good too. You really can't tell they're not made of meat. They're seasoned well, don't have a weird texture, and look legit, haha. It's worth a try, they're really delicious. Their chicken fingers aren't bad either, and their ground beef goes good in pasta sauce.

  • Cashews are my love. I don't have them all the time as they're a bit expensive but they have a lot of good fat like omega 3 fatty acids and they taste good in a spinach salad with a bit of Parmesan cheese.

  • Ice lollies!! (I think you guys call them popsicles?) They only have around 40 calories, are mega sweet and take a while to eat! I buy the variety boxes so I can have lots of different kinds :) xx

  • eat kale. don't juice it. mmmm kale salad is delicious (add nuts, cheese and raspberries and voila best lunch ever)

  • I need to loose 25 pounds to be at weight before I was pregnant. I hope to loose it by may when we go to Disneyland so I look good in all the pics and I don't have to buy a bunch of new clothes lol. But I wouldn't mind loosing 35 pounds, then I would be at 125. Good luck!!!

  • I go to the gym everyday in 6th hour for PE. Love it. Like, if I don't go, I don't graduate. So. I also just lost 50 pounds, lol. So XD

  • I have issues with your "lose weight" videos. I can understand wanting to eat healthier.... But you are one of those people who has no need at all to lose weight. None. In fact, I'd say gaining 5lbs wouldn't hurt you any. Going along with this, I'm agreeing with xxmissmawiexx....

    How do you know she has no need to lose weight? You pretty much only ever see her face, have you seen her tummy lately? I know I haven't and I doubt that you have. So leave her alone, if she is going to feel better about herself by losing a little weight there is nothing wrong with that.

  • @crazyjkix oh i definitely done need to loose weight. I carry all my weight in my stomach, which you guys dont normally see, so I understand thinking i dont need to loose weight because my face doesnt really show it :)
