@PhoenixUK2312 to be fair, we don't actually know the inventor of the vortex manipulator, there's nothing to stop it being something that was developed by a future companion after they had a momentary look at TARDIS index files and created it for themselves and then began to mass market it after their travels with the doctor, so in a way, it COULD be The Doctor's tech. Or even it be developed upon by The Doctor himself and then he loses it and someone else reverse engineers it....

@Tardisius You misunderstand. All of these countdowns are essentially reminders of what has happened in the past season. As K-9 did not appear in season 5, he simply doesn't count. It has nothing to do with your assumption that I "think the Doctors are separate personalities and not regenerations of the same Doctor". There very well could be another K-9, and he very well could be in the TARDIS, but he hasn't appeared on screen, so you can make all the assumptions you want.
