@TheLoneWolfSniper Some of them are, and some of them aren't. I usually don't open cars that are high-value cars or rare if they are in good packaging. If the packaging is at all damaged though, anything is fair game. Let them be free!
@Ripped4lyfe My appraisal is based on the questionalbe abiltiy to replace the collection, which of course would take a lot of time and individual purchases on ebay - as there is no other larger available market for this type of hobby. That being said I value the collection at approximately 30,000 at retail - althought to me the collection is worth closer to the 6-digit figure if someone were to make me an offer.
Two weeks ago, I got an entire box of Hot Wheels (yes, another giant box find for $15). It was full of junk, but I found about 300 Hot Wheels in there. Unfortunately, the kid before me didn't take very good care of them, and occasionally, he would beat them with a hammer, then spray paint them, such as a Captain America Trans Am, an Orange Baja Breaker, and a Super Chromes Mustang Stocker. The worst of them all was a Mustang from 1982, Baja Breaker and that were smashed into three pieces. Sad
@CarFan505 The cases are made by Plano, and are sold in the Hardware section of Walmarts. Also you can find them at hardware stores such as Home Depot.
I'm a collector of die-cast cars of all scales and have only a small pittance compared to your collection. Absolutely amazing collection you have. Just wondered if you collected any of the Johnny Lightning? I like them because they have really good detail on the newer ones.
@PonyPower71 I love the Johnny Lightnings! Definitly collect those, but not to complete series just whatever ones I can find and like. Especially the demolition derby cars or police cars. Great detail for sure on all the castings.
@moomooanter2 The cases that you can buy have 12 cars from the series, with about 4 to 6 duplicates. The cases are released from Mattel about every month, for a total of about 10 to 12 cases to complete the collection series.
Aires wagon!!! Tooo many cool oldies to list as likes. I have been trying to focus on getting blackwalls and redlines myself, for the most part you have all the ones on my must have list. Great to see all the great near. Mint examples, in a new video!!
Thanks for sharing your AWESOME collection with us man. Nicely displayed and with great detail. Love that GreyHound bus in the 1980's section. WOW, I had the Seville and the Citation h/b under it when I was 9yrs. The Fire Eater was my first ever and that bus 2 cars under it, is awesome! Lol, I remember the "crack-ups". Looking forward to the new Monster Jam video.
Awesome collection and awesome room man , CONGRATULATIONS . How many Garage cars are , only the normal Garage , not Waynes or Larrys or Phills ? Maybe you can make a video of them in closer look one by one.
@10h41 This year there are around 40 or so Garage series vehicles, the designation of Wayne's, Larry's, and Phil's has been dropped for 2011. In 2010 there were 39 different vehicles total in for all 3 Garage (mini-series) collections (Wayne's, Larry's, and Phil's). Of course Mattel produced multiple colours for all the vehicles (usually 3 to 4 color variations)... so this makes a complete collection top out at around 120 to 160 pieces. In 2009 the Garage series was first introduced with 39 cars
@wtffor Thank you very much for the replay. I didnt knew that. I saw some videos with only Garage logo and there were 20 of them and i wanted to get those , just like you have on 7:50 on your video. Its very confusing cause im not from US and i cant find them in my country.
@Thumper17 At first most people thought I was just a hoarder with OCD, but once I completed my Hot Wheels Room and finished it off with the cases to display cars on every wall floor-to-ceiling - that's when friends and family turned around their initial reaction and became amazed more then anything. Since the creation of the 'Hot Wheel Room', my home has a feature room that everyone wants to visit when they come over. My girlfriend of 5 years is also very supportive, and a collector as well.
@wtffor Wow, match made in heaven with that girl. Have you ever tried to contact Mattel or Matchbox or something to see if they might want to feature you as a collector and fan in some fashion? Or any other kind of hobby magazine or something?
@Thumper17 I haven't yet, but I have thought about contacting HotwheelscollectorsDOTcom to see if they would run a feature on my room for their "collector of the month". I just haven't gotten around to it with all the other projects I'd like to do for YouTube.
