I really wouldn't recommend a crappy consumer camera that you would get at target to do anything serious... canon xh a1 is an excellent camera with a reasonable price, and so is the DVX100, if you don't mind shooting in sd :D

The one on the right is a canon xh-a1 and the one on the left looks like a Sony HD FX1.
