  • Good job Delhi...wonderful metro system and congrats for becoming the second metro in the world, after the New York City Subway, to be ISO 14001 certified for environmentally friendly construction, also for winning the awards for environmentally friendly practices from organisations including the United Nations, RINA, and the International Organization for Standardization.

  • Am from Mauritius and i got the chance to enter one of this when i went there last year...

    superb place to visit.

  • How come Indians always lie? I met so many smart, many educated, and some nice Indians... but they ALL lie like it's national pastime.. what's up with that?

  • @mrkv39 --you fucking idiot! you are generalizing.

  • @abh3092 yup i am generalizing but there is a reason human beings generalize - it is often a fairly accurate way to look at the world that has too many exceptions for any logical rule.

  • I can't stress enough how much easier the metro has made life for me! :P I live in Faridabad, a satellite town to the south of Delhi. Earlier I'd feel intimidated at the thought of going anywhere within Delhi proper; it would involve more than two hours of negotiating through chaotic traffic. Now, I go to Connaught Place in central Delhi every other weekend in comfortable AC coaches, and it costs no more than 22 rupees. Lower, I may add, then the rickshaw fare for a fifteen minutes' journey! :P

  • i can see come assholes in the name of kerala trying to sell their own mother to pakistani terrorists, making some hello fellow Indians, just ignore them, problm is that their mother raped by pakistani terrorists infront of him and his fathers.

  • Wow India is really improving. Well done

  • bloddy ass porki ......hav u ever been to kerala ......im a delhite .....nd hv been to kerala many times ......its absolutely amazing .......be it its food or its natural beaty..... its absolutely gorgeous ......i pity you for your lack of common sense ......jab kisi cheez k baare me jankari nhi hai to kyu bakvaas kar rha hai be .........

  • haha look at that monkey on top of the train

  • I'm originally from Delhi - basically a Dilliwala who's been away from Delhi for several years now overseas - this time some weeks back I visited Delhi after a long time, and I was just amazed at how the city has changed. It was a beautiful city to begin with, but now it is simply amazing - I am seriously considering relocating to Delhi from abroad, since the city is so wonderful.

  • Well that makes a pleasant change from the usual chaotic, overcrowded scenes in Indian transit systems.

Lets hope it sets a precedent in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai...

  • lindo metro

  • omg Im canadian I take Montreal's subway and u might not believe it but our metro cars are older than 40 years old hahahaha and a metro ticket is 3$... in few years we will also have new metro cars but now I have to take old shit metro hahahaha.. your metro is great.. :)

  • @cmoapat Boston's subway cars are not as old but they wear out quicker because more than half the subway is surface or elevated and subject to rock salt. Plus the underground sections are ancient and decrepit and smell of p.

  • Wow .. I want to go to India in next 2 year for study.. I think Corruption and poverty is everywhere including in my country..

  • great metro.. modern, clean, etc..

  • Compare these to Bombay, Delhi wins in infrastructure.

  • We need more of em.

As $1 thrillion as been announced for infrastructure for the next 5 years, well see more development...

  • Coool

  • I love India

  • India need to BUILD more like THESE!! We need to focus on INFRASTRUCTURE!!

Get more high-tech trains, bullet trains, more universities, destroy poverty, then only we can be truly proud of our country!

  • It really look like those in Hong Kong.

  • What's the average cost of a metro ticket?..

  • @mooneepondskid The minimum fare is 8 Rs. (0.18 US $) and the maximum I think is 32 that is nearly 0.7 $

  • @mooneepondskid A metro ride in Delhi is really pocket friendly. Minimum ticket price is approx US$ 0.17 and maximum is approx. US $ 0.6.

  • @mooneepondskid --10 to 25 rupees max...apart from airport link which is around 80 rupees

  • @mooneepondskid around 8 to 20 rupees depending on distance. very cheap for comfortable AC travel.

  • wow great train. reminds me of philippine during 1983 when their first metro train was built in manila...congrats india nice train system :)

  • A little looks like Taibei DORTS's C371

  • yeah, i was waiting for something bad to happen:( you don't have transportation that bad. wait till they are late for coffee breaks.

  • oh yeah.... now thats what i call my college lifeline... :-)

  • East or west INDIA is the best......love Delhi....meri Delhi...Meri Metro..Jai hind...

  • @1989upendra

Hey, I tell you one thing. Delhi Metro is way better than the metro here in Toronto.

In Toronto, over the past 10 years, Metro is the same. Delhi Metro is definitely one of the best.

  • thanks for information...for supporting India

  • I live in ghaziabad (NCR) ....for me it best way to travel...if you not like Delhi or NCR than please go out from India.....it heartbeat of my India.......poverty,yes we have poor but after all in western country has also poor, but they don't show...

  • oh someone please bring the metro here in mumbai.quick!!!

  • @smano555

keep dreaming u piss drinking mongrel

  • India is a wonderful country. I have visited it many times. I hope all this rapid modernization won't change the character of the country which I fell in love with long ago. As someone who lives in a developed country, I can attest to the fact that quality of life and happiness does not necessarily improve along with GDP/capita.

  • @MrEthekyaa True-Indians are said to be second most happy people- they remain cheerful despite the stack of odds- most related to economy- Indians relie on intuition which is more powerful that logic or reasoning

  • kya pagalpanti hai! i'm from delhi & i love metro! why u stupid people talking about religion for the comment of metro!

  • @rashidabbasi87 ya rite.. i agree. jus enjoy the videol... stupid insecure people just talk negative about everything....

  • @aslambeigindian

Pakistan is a state with not much to loose but it's corrupt politicians. India on the other hand have big dreams. Even to survive, India has to compete with a giant like China while Pakistan is a cino sponsored state. getting my drift here ?

  • @gandalfthegrey41 i have a confusion here? Is pakistan a usa or Sino sponsored ?

  • @KerelasBlackSweeper , I take it you were refused a janitorial position at a Delhi Metro station.

  • @jewishwarrior666 If you too are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. Maybe not in India but a negative contributor is hardly an asset to its own state. Perhaps contributing positively will help to ease the hate you convey verbally.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ooga001 , Jews love India n Indians....these guys are from Pakistan acting Jewish......take care....Indis n Israel are best friends....

  • @Ooga001 jewishwarrior666 is not a jew , so dont abuse the jews ... he most probably would be a pakistani - as usual

  • nice .........india is progressing !!!! watch out for us world !!!!!!

p.s. please stop bashing each others states ..... india will only progress through unity !!!!!!!!!

  • are u mad u show Delhi metro on website ,firstly its illegal ,secondly it might help terrorist (crazy idiot people)

  • It sounds and looks very similar to our MTR K-Train in Hong Kong......

But lt looks and sounds great! Thanks for sharing :)

  • @KerelasBlackSweeper Typing and projecting your own frustrations, restlessness and so many unfulfilled desire here, lunatic mallu? One Ambani can buy your fucking Kerala. But no one wants that disgusting hell hole of demons.

  • @lunatickerala he is not a Keralite he is Pakistani. He was speaking Hindi and people from Kerela do not speak Hindi.

  • @MrIndoCanadian .........dude i belong to kerala......but im a delhite as i was born nd brght up here......or mujhe achhi tarha hindi aati hai mere dost.....ye tumhari galat fahmi hai ki kerala k logo ko hindi nhi aati....my cousins who stay there can speak in hindi fluently..... :)

  • @fuckpakistan100 I am a North Indian I was just saying that KerelaBlackSweeper guy is a Pakistani who keeps on writing garbage comments of Delhi Metro. He is trying to create a division between North and South Indians. By the way Malayali is an amazing language.

  • @MrIndoCanadian ... cheers mate .....(keralasBlackSweeper).dis asshole dsn't kno anything ......he's just another bloody porki piece of shit .... jinki morning hi bomb blast se shuru hoti ho unhe kya pata development k baare me ..... ab kuch bole ye dalla mujhe ya tujhe .....saale ki gand maar lunga ....terrorist ki aulaad saala gandu .....

  • @MrIndoCanadian I am from Tamil Nadu. If I catch that bloody Porki Pig in the South I would fuck his asshole till it bleeds ha ha ha ha ha. Don't worry. Be it the South or the North, India is one nation. Bloody Porkistani Pigs shall die in their Porkistan. These pigs are jealous of India. Jai Hind!!!!!

  • @lunatickerala --looks like kerelablack..not indian

  • @KerelasBlackSweeper I have travelled on the Delhi Metro and it might not be the newest of ideas globally, but the fact that India has an addtion to its Public Transport system is commendable.

Had it not been part of the drive to improve the infrastructure, then critics such as yourself would have accused such States of overlooking future developments.

As far as the bridge accident is concerned, then lessons have to be learned to secure those it aims to improve life for. Dil saaf rakho.

  • I think it's a good train. It's model is Korean.

  • Ya... Exactly. The same type of train is now running on MTR lines in Hong Kong, despite the difference on body design, especially on the number of doors in each car and the design of the doors (Plugged doors are used in Hong Kong KORO trains).

  • @zakuza92

There are basically 3 types of metros, the European style, the Japanese style, and the American style.

Korean metros are derived from Japanese style metros.

and Japanese style metros are superior to Europeans in handling massive amount of riders, which India probably has.

Canadians aren't familiar with overloaded metro system, and It wasn't wise for India to select Bombadier to build some of their metros.

Should have stuck with Japanese style metros.

  • @KerelasBlackSweeper You bloody Porki Pig, if I catch you in the South I'll fuck your asshole till it bleeds ha ah aha hoooooo heeeee.

  • what a crappy train

  • bambai is filled with immigrants especially from north india and from karnataka(mangaloreans)

  • mumbai is backward city compared to delhi, no metro in mumbai.

Thackrey has done nothing for mumbai apart from making divisons.

  • very nice video

  • Delhi Metro is the biggest change for Delhites . It is Transport with comfort , time saving and far reaching . Although it is crowded but by adding coaches that would ease the consumer. It is a great step for public transport & would be in each big cities of India. It is Success in Delhi.

  • It's very nice & beautiful. Indian railway is world's biggest & best railway system.

  • @sprau09 It might be the biggest ... but best??? are you out of your mind? ... indian trains run at a very slow speed compared to what trains run in developed countries besides almost all trains are AC in developed countries.

  • I'm completely agree with you coz I used to live there and I how it is, yupp its a biggest railway system in the world but the same time it is a worse

  • This is the metro rail though, not Indian railways, they are not connected. You can't catch a train to bombay from here!

  • @mohitkuk13 Metros are usually for the purpose of local travel , nt long routes!! stupid

  • wat u said all apply to Delhi only bro, rest is bad, realy bad

  • no bro..All part of India is having such a new railway system. In Hyderabad recently sky bus metro is consructed. It also has in Mumbai+ monorail sysstem. Even bullet train system is also being constructed in India now..It's exellent...

  • wow i just researched on Skybus mero, its awesome, but this creates more problem for lower class and middle lower class people. They are now rising the prices of bus fare and train fare, in future india would kook like Brazil, rich gets richer and poor gets more crushed

  • wat ur say is b4 10years la bro..now, there is no more gap between rich & poor people in India. Coz those who poor also now getting 2 the stage of middle class or rich. poor rate will be 0% in India b4 the year 2015..India is next Super Power..Now, Brazil also getting well...

  • dream and dream until 2050

  • @sprau09 .. you are the biggest idiot ever.. more than 40% of indian population is still below poverty.. 50% women are illiterate... do your research before you comment.. poor rate will be 0% before 2015???? what is giving you that impression??? are you out of your mind???think before you comment.

  • junk

  • LOOKS GOOD

  • I have seen Madrid Metro , Its one of the best and yeah Delhi metro can be compared to world best metro systems for sure

  • have you ever seen the Montreal ( canada) metroits the best in the whole world?

  • wow....first time i saw a hindu pakistani....actually defending a country that is like 95 % Muslim....very nice....i think Pakistan has a long way to go before it can be considered to fight India let alone put up a fight....if the Taliban can take over your army headquarters only God can help you....

  • @gandalfthegrey41 exactly

  • @gandalfthegrey41 No prob. my frnd, we r not like BARKISTANI"S, WE have BRAIN< POWER AND PUBLIC, TALIBAN ki bass ki bat nahi ki HINDUSTAN PAR KABZA KAR SAKEIN.

  • @gandalfthegrey41 : If India take over pakistan , your fear for pakistan and taliban will be destroyed with them :P

  • yes indeed..this coming from an individual who does not like to read books let alone comment in proper English...

  • the train made in rotem company, changwon south korea

  • i love indian railways

    i love delhi metro

  • It sounds like London's Jubilee Line

  • lol

  • jackdghost..

    LOL.. "lud kut ke maroge"

    This made me laugh..

    Stop fighting bhai log..

  • whoa. thats realy clean!! That looks so much like the BART train system we have in the bay area, ca

  • This is what we need in our cities.... well, we can see our great nation growing!!!

  • delhi dil to mumbai jan.Stop fighting.

  • Who built this metro?

  • The 'Metro man", Padma Shri dr. cum engineer cum builder E. Sreedharan.

his first assignment was in the Southern Railway as a Probationary Assistant Engineer in December 1954.he was also put in charge for implementation, planning and design of Calcutta metro, the first ever metro in India.known for completing both the Konkan Railway and Delhi Metro projects within budget and ahead of schedule.IF U WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS PERSON THEN PLEASE GO TO WIKIPEDIA FOR THE INTRESTING STORY

  • E. Sreedharan HE ALSO MADE KONKAN RAILWAY ONE OF THE TOUGHEST RAILWAY PROJECT IN INDIA

  • He got Legion de Honor from Jacques Chirac, after Chirac got a ride in this Metro hahahah

  • mmm..let c its condition after few yrs..londons tubes and stations look old cos it IS old..150 years..when rail was setup in india..undergrounds metro was setup in london..delhi metro will luk all shiny now...lets c how it goes..

  • It's been operational since 2002, and I'd have to say, for a public sector undertaking, the performance has been excellent so far in terms of progress in building and maintenance.

As for 150 years later- we definitely won't be around to see what Delhi metro looks like then. I have serious doubts about human civilization existing then, let alone Delhi Metro :D

  • Can't believe we are fighting Delhi vs Mumbai!!!! C'mon guys we are Indians and should be proud of all the good stuff irrespective of where in the country!!! As long as its in India it should be everyone's pride!!!

  • gr8 acceleration there...

Delhi has all the good reasons to smile :)

  • Bombays position will always remain below Delhi , we donot have slums like Bombay and average income per person is highest in delhi in India . We enjoy far superior standard of living . I have stayed in Bombay and seen it all .

  • Well smano555, its true that Delhi has better standard of living but its sad that Indian government can not treat all its metros on same footing. Mumbai was ignored for a long time, sometimes deliberately, for its infrastructure needs. On the other hand, Delhi has an obvious advantage of being the capital of the country. So its not to the credit of fault of the citizens of the respective cities for where they are.

  • so now you are comparing your ghattis with delhi.. well dude.. its about india not able delhi or mumbai.. go and harass innocents couple..thats what you are good at

  • what exactly r u trying to say? mumbaikars r gahti, or if its not about mumbai n delhi, all indians r ghati? n what bout couples, not making any sense...

  • i was referring to couples on valentine day which MNS take so much proud in harassing and when get bombed my terrorist.. none of them show their dirty face. fuckers they are diving india and you himself now undermining progress of one state by comparing it with other. feel good to be indian rather than dividing ourselves. i hope, i make myself clear now.

  • MNS is a highly insignificant party hyped by the immature media for cheap headlines, also you can clap with 2 hands ,certain notorious elements from UP and Bihar are causing serious damage to Mumbai and its lifestyle whether you like it or not, that's the truth.

  • PFA get your facts right ,l the money you rascals use in Delhi and elsewhere all over India ,comes from Ghatti coffers ? ,nearly 60% of India's income tax comes from MH ,till the 90's 75% of india's IT revenues came from MH,so now tell me who is the beggar with the bowl? Delhi is the crappiest city in India ,filled with aggressive animals, cheaters, rapists and crooks no night life .

  • You have every right to your opiniions and dislike Delhi but get your facts tight

Delhi generates 18% of the tax revenue in India and has the highest concentration of HNI families ( HIgh networth Indians) , its a city of traders and exporters and has highest purchasing power per person in India.

Bombay do genrates 33% of tax rev but donot forget Bollywood and lots of business people are from Delhi.

  • 60% incomme tax from mubai , r u crazy???

  • Yogi bhai, I have been to Mumbai. Everything is crumbklng there. From roads to local trains...Bombay used to be a great city, now its on the decline. There is no doubt Delhi used to be like a village til the 80s. But its got the cleanest and widest roads in the country, an effecient state govt for the last 15 years. It is a lot cleaner than Mumbai and less polluted. We also have wide open areas and bigger houses, while in Mumbai having a balcony in the house is a huge achievment,

  • I am from Mumbai but I have to agree with you sarmystic. Mumbai has been looted and plundered bt the politicians and its not even a third world city now. On the other hand, the weather in Delhi is extremely hot, the only thing that would stop me from moving there... :)

  • yeah, extremely hot in summers and extremely cold in winters. If you ever want to come to DELHI, feb-March are the bestb months!

  • I think that has got a lot to do with "mumbai spirit"

Life goes on despite bomb blasts floods and what not

Delhi is different. People dont allow life to go on. There are floods every year in mumbai and people dont protest

In delhi people will be on street burning posters and creating havoc. . I think pace of development in Delhi will decrease remarkably after commonwealth

  • 3 rd world is a term coined by the western world.....50 years ago Europe would also be considered 3 rd world compared to north america....but the westerners find that fact hard to accept ....

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry didn't mean to offend anyone. In fact I forgot I even posted that. The Delhi Metro is an excellent system nonetheless.

  • oh thats ok...i was simply just trying to tell you what that term means....no offence taken:)

  • I know. Personally, I don't take offence from the term. The term "Third world" for me covers a broad spectrum. Don't worry. I wouldn't mind if my home country was called a third world as long as they don't blast full insult on it.

Besides, India is a newly industrialized country and seems well on it's way to being a utopian first-world country. From the looks of this plus the Mumbai Metro opening less than a year from now. My comment was to complement India on it's progress, not to belittle it.

  • yep....thx for the clarification....besides Mumbai metro?? r they starting construction or just looking for land?....

  • As a matter of fact, they're nearly done construction of the metro system!

  • oh nice....looking forward to that....

  • Hje , The thrid world country has reached moon with US , EU probes on its satellites even after being plundered by Moughals for 700 years and later by British, French, Dutch for 150 years. ( No offence - friend) But , i agree lots more needs to be done , keep saying we are third world , that will motivate us to work even more harder.

  • I know that. "Third world" doesn't have to be a bad thing. In fact, there are many other underdeveloped countries that are much better than some fully developed countries. I have been to a few of them. Look superb. India looks superb too.

  • What time was this bro? The platform was empty (by Indian standards)

  • i guess cuz indians have good relations with japan.

  • ive heard that Japan helped building this subway...

  • Yes you are correct , they loaned to Delhi govt substantial amount (around 35%) but project is totally Indian compnay implemented.

  • achhi baat hai bhai toh main kya nachu?

weird ass hates your own country moron

  • ur frm MNS??....

  • This station is possibly the cleanest place in India. I see no trash anywhere in this video. Hoooray! I knew India could do it!

  • Better than Super Crowded Japan Train.

When i was in Tokyo once, I don't remember where It was so packed and some guy in uniform pulled me out from train with a Polite "You can go from the next train, sir!". Much swearing and use of profanity in the train.

  • how come these trains aren't as jam packed as soom trains i've seen in India? where did all the people go?

  • it's more expensive than the normal trains. You pay about 2$ to get a ticket, or 99 rs..

  • That's not true. It costs FAR less. I'm not sure how much tho'.

  • it cost less then a 1$.

  • price is same as bus fare dude...if u dont know the reality dont try to post bullshit man.....rs 99 for metro...who will come then it has a minimum fare of rs4 to a maximum of rs20 for 40km

  • please dont bull shit if u dont know about the fares of Delhi Metro...its far far less than 99rs... its even less than 20rs to many places..depends where u want to go =

  • Hey, who told u it is 2$? The max fare is INR 15. It has also smart card which u can get with a 10% discount.

  • Don't be such a liar, the most expensive ticket is for less than 50 cents! And it is that for over 5 years now!

  • it's just one of the not-very-busy stations..uttam nagar (The place where this video was taken) is in south-west delhi near Dwarka which is more like a suburb hence the paucity of people.. :) The Rajiv Chowk(CP) to Kashmere Gate train runs packed at most times. Though the crowd is much more controlled than anywhere else in the outside world in Delhi

  • Cheapest fare is Rs. 8 (like 15 cents), and maximum is Rs. 22, like less than 50 cents. It is a video from a station where not many people board, so it looks less crowded. At C.P. (most crowded station), during rush hour, it gets too crowded to get on. The Metro works out on the crowd part by running a train every 3 minutes between each station during peak hours. Cleanliness is due to high number of sanitation employees.

  • Bangalore is getting world class trams the construction will finished on november 2011

  • that looks cool...its on par with london tube network i guess...

  • 100 times better than lonon tubes. . . london tubes are so crap . . . totatlly rubbish I travel in london tube evey day and its soooo pathetic!!

  • Considering the London Tubes have been around for a near 150 years AND even then they were built on seven floors (in some places)...it's still a big feat. True, they can't cash off that forever and need a major overhaul by the Olympics...but I don't see it happening!

  • london is getting new trains soon

  • Thats great.......

  • India and whatever related to it is best...

    i love delhi metro
